History
The humans of planet Earth had long lived in harmony with mother nature. However, in the past hundred years, things had been different. The humans no longer respected animals, and many of the species were restless. A group of wolves searched the land masses for some way to get away from the human menace. The year 1960 was upon them...

They found their solution near the coast of Africa. Over hundreds of years, somehow unseen by humans, continuous volcanic activity formed a new land mass. This area had become a utopia over the years, and the animals realized that this might just be their chance to get away. They swam from the coast, drawing further and further away until they could no longer see the mainland. They finally reached the sandy beaches of a new continent. This area, for now unknown by humans, was exactly what they had been searching for. The animals quickly settled into their new home. The animals lived in harmony for over forty years.

In 2000, the humans finally surveyed the land mass. Somehow, their scientists had overlooked this land, and their ship routes had mysteriously passed it by. A horde of humans flooded the continent, sticking their noses in where the wolves believed they didn't belong. Mankind attacked them, slaughtering all the wolves in sight and burning large areas of the island. Finally, accepting that this place was not fit for human life after their tyrade, the scientists left, deeming the land uninhabitable.

Wolves that had hidden from the human's flames and the merciless weapons slowly began to emerge from their hiding places. Over the next eight years, the plant life gradually grew back. Now, the wolves needed to figure out a way to survive with many of their resources exhausted...

The alpha brute strode along the terra, his paws dancing against the earth. It was such a great feeling to be out along the path again; the confinement of the dens was heavy hearted and unpleasant for a formerly free-lance brute such as himself. Right now, he really wanted some time to put together the pieces of what had happened to him this past stretch of time. He had managed to pull his life back together and establish an entire pack in the short span of time he had been searching for Ardemu. Not only that, but his son's whereabouts had been delivered straight to his doorstep. Now, they just needed to figure out exactly what the plan would be. Once Koli and Apollo returned from their expedition, they could see exactly where they stood with allies. While securing the territory was a priority, they also needed to eliminate the threat altogether.

Zethrox glanced backward briefly to reassure himself that Krever was still following him. The last thing he needed was to chase the omega down; as much as he wanted this arrangement to work out, he doubted they would ever break through to the chocolate femme. It'll take time. Everything heals with time, even the loss of a dear friend, he thought, the image of Rixes filling his mind. It had been years, yet he still saw her face everytime he thought of her as clearly as it had been yesterday.

It was only a few moments longer until the brute reached the steamy waters of Enackir Hot Springs. The warm vapors whafted around his tired body, and he emitted a slight sigh of satisfaction. However, he was careful to check the ground. With his muzzle lowered, he inhaled deeply, snuffling around the earth in search of any unfamiliar scents or old scent markers. To his satisfaction, there were none that were of immediate concern. The scent of the unfamiliar brute with the mechanical leg from the dens littered the ground, but Zeth was fairly certain he had either moved along or planned to shortly.

Seating himself comfortably, the alpha waited for his omega to arrive. Perhaps they could talk some things out, perhaps not. Either way, he was obligated to make her stay in his territory as pleasant as possible. Even if she would completely destroy her chances of happiness, she would never be able to say that Zethrox did not try.

A younger brown wolf had been on these lands once before. Many months ago, before she was even a yearling. The memories were retraced back to when Krever and Fohn's journey first began, recovering from the wounds and reaching the hot springs for warmth and healing. Fohn was the one who brought her here the first time, he said he'd seen many wolves bathe in the warm clear waters of the hot springs. When young Krever first stepped foot in the springs, she yelped at how hot it was. Fohn told it her would take some getting used to, and it would relax her as well.

Krever sighed at that memory as the familiar scent of the hot springs reached her black nose. Looking to the skies, seeing many ravens flying by. Of course they all looked the same, they were big black birds. If Fohn were still alive, he would be flying with those birds. If Fohn were still here, Krever would tell him to travel with them and leave her with this pack. If Fohn hadn't died, would things be different? Of course they would. In a perfect world, Krever would have decided to join Haishin willingly, knowing it was in a true wolf's nature to. And Fohn would be with his flock, just like it was for a raven's nature.

But unfortunately, it wasn't like that. But it wasn't all that bad. Krever had owners, and she'd be treated like a slave. Possibly she wasn't the only wolf in the world who was treated this way, there could be wolves out these with a much worse fate. The chocolate fae sighed heavily as she continued following Zethrox. Her head was lowered and ears cocked back. She kept her eyes closed most the time, but looked around every once in awhile to make sure she didn't run into anything. Their whole journey had been very quiet and awkward, and Krever wondered why they had to be alone in this task. 'Coeus hadn't been assigned to anything, why couldn't he come along?' Krever wondered, almost spoke allowed. But the femme told herself she'd keep quiet. For all she knew... Zethrox was taking her out here to drown her in the springs, take her away from this forsaken land. One can hope, right?

What in heaven's name had she been thinking, making a deal with that devil Rapture? It'd been days since she'd seen him, thankfully. Legacy was still quite a bit sore from their little rendezvous though. Every step was a bitter reminder that she'd lowered herself to the status of tramp. She was a vagrant, a vagabond. No. She was something slightly better. She would not let her self-esteem drop so low. She need a better tile, something less condemning. Something like... "Gypsy."

The word made her smile. A fitting title indeed, gypsy. She was the trickster, dazzling all she came across. She flirted and conned, taking all she wanted only to disappear without a trace. She was resolved to only see Rapture again if he sought her out. Let him be the one to remember the deal. For now she liked to think he was dead. 'Outta sight, outta mind,' her thoughts murmured, a smirk curving up her maw. She could live like that, for now.

Driven on the scent of hot water, the Mexican fae had only one goal in mind. She knew hot-springs lay not much further ahead. The steamy liquid would do her some good, relieving her tension and helping her heal. Unfortunately, she did not know of the claim that lay over Kamari. Markers were faint, especially where she'd crossed the border. In fact, she only began to pick up on the scent of others as her destination grew much closer. Maybe it was due to her one tracked mind. Or, maybe the alpha of these lands really had been neglecting his duties.

Either way, Legacy quirked a curious brow as she spied two figures near the shore. Her smirk turned mischievous as she padded closer, allowing her mind to make dangerous assumptions. She ignored the rules of etiquett, making her own as she went along. She was a gypsy after all. Did they not leech off the edges of acceptable society, conning their way into hearts led astray only to leave a wake of destruction?

"Well well. What do we have here?" she purred, soft brown eyes examining the earthy femme and scar-faced brute. "A handsome cradle-robber and his young mistress? Shame on me for spoiling your fun." She circled them one, her movements slow and seductive. Her head was kept low, tail swaying slightly behind her as she peered up from beneath her lashes. After completing loop she placed herself equidistant from the pair, an innocent expression plastered on her maw. "Do forgive me, good sir. It seems I've forgotten my manners. Name's Legacy. I would have howled, but it seems I found you before realizing this was your territory. My minds been a bit distracted lately. I was hoping the springs would help me... heal."

Legacy'd placed a stress on "heal," hoping the odd little duo would take the bait. Her intentions were to play up her troubles. She had no qualms with acting the victim. Sure, her little tryst with that Mexican hell-hound had been consensual. Only she and he knew that though. Why not spin it as a tail of rape? It'd certainly felt that vile. And if the alpha and his ward were swayed by sympathy, just maybe they'd let her stay. It'd been a while since she'd had a home. Though she knew her residence would not be permanent, she couldn't resist trying to buy just a little time.

The alpha brute gazed blankly at the chocolate femme. As much as he hated to cause her pain, Zethrox knew that in the end, everything would work out. "Krever, I think we need to talk," he stated softly, hoping that she would not take the words as those of hatred, much like what she had been subjected to ever since he had made her the omega. He watched her walk sullenly behind him before turning around to face her, seating himself abruptly. I am concerned about you, Krever. Even the death of a loved one should not bring so much hatred and rage as what you now hold...

"Your bird... I want you to tell me about him," he said slowly, hoping that she would not take his words provocatively. He was genuinely curious what was so special about the common ravent that Krever would attempt to kill a fellow wolf over him. Surely she knew that, with time, a bird such as Fohn would pass? Wolves outlived birds by many years, because birds were prey. The rest of the world was simply filled with predators, ready to take a snap at an unsuspecting bird. "His name was Fohn? What exactly made him so special?" He hoped that by allowing her to talk about him, perhaps she would be more willing to let go of the past. How was he to know how important the little creature was to her? In a perfect world, the alpha brute would know everything. He would have known what trouble the critter was causing with the wolves, and he would have known exactly how much Krever depended on his companionship. But the truth of the matter was that Zethrox was more in the dark than he would ever let on. There was no way for him to understand the bond between two such different creatures.

And suddenly, another wolf was in their midst. Zethrox watched the femme stalk forward with much amusement; it was all he could do to surpress a chuckle as she purred at them. "My dear femmora," he greeted her with the slightest tip of his crown, though not enough to suggest he was anything less than the ruler of these lands.

"Do forgive me, good sir. It seems I've forgotten my manners. Name's Legacy. I would have howled, but it seems I found you before realizing this was your territory. My minds been a bit distracted lately. I was hoping the springs would help me... heal." The brute also found this a touch amusing, but his softer side would not allow him to lash out against the trespasser. Although he did not genuinely believe she was as sweet as she let on to be, Zethrox was not one to follow first instincts. "Legacy," he murmured under his breath before smiling kindly and stating, "I am Zethrox, the alpha of the Haishin pack that dwells in these lands. It seems that many have forgotten their manners and the general etiquette of pack boundaries these days... Wolves come and go as they please. It seems they wish to reduce me to a common... mongrel."

A slight chuckle caught in the brute's throat. The femme was definitely a good source of entertainment at the moment. "So what exactly brings you to heal at my lovely springs?" he inquired sweetly, a touch of naive and a spin of aged wisdom in his words. He would not dare to allow her to see he had caught hold of the falsehood in her words. After all, the years had brought him to be a great judge of character.

Eyelids drooped over bronze orbs slowly as her eyes lifted to scan the area once more. Zethrox had stopped moving, and the steam of the springs slightly dampened her brown hued coat. Pausing where she stood, still as a statue. She knew her place in this organization per say, but she also knew she wouldn't be taken advantage of too easily. Orbs following Zethrox's every move, not even a blink could be trusted at this time. Krever didn't know why she was alone with the Alpha, she didn't want to be that's for sure. But then his voice broke out and disrupted her train of thoughts. "Krever, I think we need to talk," Brown brows furrowed a bit, talk about what? "Your bird... I want you to tell me about him," Swallowing hard, ears backed fully as her gaze left his uncomfortably.

Krever decided to keep her word from before. She wouldn't talk to him, she told herself she wouldn't speak to Zethrox ever, or even the other pack wolves. 'I won't... I shouldn't have to.' Licking her lips as her eyes stared unfocused on her chocolate feet. "His name was Fohn? What exactly made him so special?" Sighing, chewing on her lower blackened lip a bit. There was so much to tell, she wanted to pour it all out again... But not to the wolf who killed Fohn. But if she decided to tell, would the cracks in their relationship bond together? Could something good happen out of something bad that happened a long time ago?

"Yeah... Fohn was his name..." Her tone was hushed, but there were no corners to getting out of this one. She wanted Zethrox to know about the one he brutally murdered. "Fohn was my only friend. Even though he was a raven... Friendship shouldn't be just about species." Krever simply stated before continuing why Fohn was so special. "When I was very little... I ventured away from my family. I wasn't paying attention... And slipped and fell off a tall cliff. If Fohn weren't there to swoop down and save my life... I wouldn't be here right now." Slowly lowering her hind to the warm ground by the springs, her eyes remained on her feet and refused to make any sort of eye contact with Zethrox. She was still royally vengeful for Fohn's death, that... And she didn't want her hidden tear lines to be seen. Krever dared say no more, if Zethrox wanted to ask more, let him. Krever will decide to answer depending on the question. But for now she will soak up the memories and debate on a better future that could be introduced from the occasion. But the wavering scent of another female entered Krever's senses, and she hesitatingly lifted her head to see the new female.

"Well well. What do we have here? A handsome cradle-robber and his young mistress? Shame on me for spoiling your fun." Eyes widened as her heart literally stopped a few beats. Internally, Krever cried her eyes out. Why would she say that? Why would she put that filthy image in Krever's head. Oh, it was so wrong. Like she didn't have enough going on at that moment. "You're sick." Krever hissed and quickly shot her eyes back to her feet and grumbled hatred at herself. Not only did this female wreak of the stench of blood and sex, but she pronounced the dirtiness of her mind and accused of both Krever and Zethrox. 'Truly sick indeed.' Krever reminded herself with a slight chuckle and a shake of the head. The rest of the day would be not amusing, and Krever only hoped this Legacy female wouldn't be sticking around long.

Legacy chuckled, not bothering to hold in her amusement at the brown fae's reaction. It'd been what she was aiming for, really. Though the brute had seemed unphased, the thought that she so easily could unnerve the femme made her proud. Reguardless, as she lowered herself to her haunches she also dipped her head to the pretty brown wolf in apology. Though her words were nothing more than an assumption, this time they held more truth than her coy comments from earlier. Legacy wasn't exactly the best at judging the unfortunate situations she often found herself in.

"Do forgive me for having a little fun," she murmured sweetly. "I suppose only the Jester can mock the King. The words of a stranger mean nothing, you know. You should be proud of yourself to be someone so trustworthy. You must be of great importance if you're allowed to be alone with your alpha. If I am not mistaken, it is an honor very few get." Though she did not know it, she'd indirectly backed up her own statement. Nothing she said could be trusted, for most of the assumptions she made were false. Just because she thought the Mack. Valley female was someone of power didn't mean she was. She had unintentionally elevated the Omega's rank, not at all knowing how at fault she truly was.

Her movements were smooth as she then fixed brown eyes back upon the alpha, head shaking back and forth lightly in disagreement at what he'd said. Him... a mongrel? Never! "I highly doubt that you, good sir, are on the same level as certain... despicable, ill-mannered, bastards." Though her voice had started out whimsical, by the end of her statement it was impossible to keep out the raw hatred she held within her. Hatred directed towards the one who'd caused her so much pain, both physical and psychological. Hatred to herself for having sunk so low. Hatred that was practically tangible the way it ate away at her heart. That dreadful day had broken her, and though she was too proud to admit it she knew there was no way out for her. She was chained to her decisions, their consequences successful only in making her sink into further depression.

She took a few minutes to compose herself, eyes drifting closed as she breathed deeply. Now was not the time for a breakdown. She wanted acceptance, yes, but she wasn't looking for true pity. Then again, there was probably no way around it. "Tell all the truth, but tell it slant," had once claimed Emily Dickinson. Despite her slightly embellished retelling of her most recent history, Legacy could not keep her emotions in check. Just thinking about it, thinking about the disgusting creature she'd become, fueled her voice with bitterness. Sure it made her act more convincing; it also made her self-esteem plummet. Why on earth had she ever agreed to such a twisted deal? Oh, right. It was because she was a lonely little creature who thought of no one but herself. But these kind strangers didn't need to know that.

Opening her eyes, they locked upon the Timber brute's own as a bitter smile painted her maw. Her voice was cold, detached, completely lacking the playful teasing that had marked her appearance. She just could not talk about him in that way. She didn't even want to acknowledge his name. "No," she murmured quietly. "You're no mongrel. Unlike him, you actually hold some decency. I'm sure you know the meaning of the word 'no.' I'm sure you wouldn't force yourself on an innocent femme, keep her against her will and expect her to be your little toy." Her gaze slipped briefly to the brown fae, hoping to earn a bit of sympathy. All the while she was blissfully unaware of the dark parallels she drew between her own life and theirs.

Turning back to Zethrox she her continued her gruesome tale, wrapping horrible events in colorful wording that made the story only slightly easier to tell. No amount of bathing had been able to wash away the foul stench of that crazed Mexican, and every step she'd taken since then ached not only with physical pain but also with her own regrets. "You don't seem the type to take something that isn't rightfully yours. That bastard..." She paused a moment, trying to keep her voice from cracking. "What he did to me is unforgivable! Sure, I'm not the most innocent femora." Trying to keep up a facade or not, her words were being clouded by her own blind fury. "But that does not excuse him! It wasn't even mating season."

Her voice broke then, words catching as she held back unshed tears. Squinting her eyes she dropped her gaze to her paws, not wanting to look at either of her current companions. She felt filthy; wanted to vomit. Days had passed and yet the emotional torment still had not run its course. She ached all over, old wounds reopening. Maybe this game hadn't been such a good idea... Too bad it was too late to quit now. Slowly she raised pained brown orbs back to the gazes of the strangers. All bets were off as she posed her own question, mind too far gone as her spirit sunk closer to the depths of Hell. "Tell me... Do you know what it's like to be torn in two? To be so irreparably broken that even death won't justify the worst of your sins? Because that's what I am. That's what he did to me." 'And worst of all, I let him,' she added mentally. But these kind strangers didn't need to know that.

Zethrox listened intently to Krever, attempting to show that he had every intention of hearing her out. Though he had not seen it before, he knew it was true; animals of different species could often form bonds as strong as those between mates. Friendship in itself was not limited to the species. "Krever, I know my words may not mean much to you," he started out softly, knowing that Legacy was indeed listening to him. Her hanging off his every word was a touch unnerving, though he would never audibly admit it. "I truly did not know of your connection, or I never would have acted so hastily." He did not believe the femmora would take much heed to his apology; although he was sincere, he had a hard time interpreting her reactions. Nothing confused him more in his pack than the chocolate omega.

Alas, the alpha brute's attention was once seized by the mexican female. As she uttered complaints about an unknown brute, Zethrox shifted uncomfortably. No one knew of his previous relationship with Rixes, yet this Legacy had managed to pry open the most sore of wounds. Her words penetrated his soul, tearing at him savagely and with absolutely no remorse.

"You're no mongrel. Unlike him, you actually hold some decency. I'm sure you know the meaning of the word 'no.' I'm sure you wouldn't force yourself on an innocent femme, keep her against her will and expect her to be your little toy."

Zethrox squeezed his eyes shut for a moment, recalling that very day so many years ago that he had left his old life behind. His most regretted memories resided within that one memory, the ones that he had attempted to blotch out unsuccessfully for years. It seemed that every time the pain started to scab over, another wolf came along and tore him apart from the inside. It was not his fault that he struggled with his own conscience. On the contrary, for a wolf such as Zethrox, the contention within himself helped keep him sane, kept him from falling back to his old ways. But he would be lying to himself if he believed those old urges did not still exist. Years had nearly perfected his control. That was, until this very moment that the small female's words perked his interest once again.

Zethrox watched Rixes, her red and black coat heaving angrily as he paced back and forth. "You don't understand, Rixes. You just never understood!" he screamed bitterly, his eyes flashing as he stared her down. He had yet to simmer down after her episode in front of the band. "Do you not think before you speak? By contradicting what I say, you leave the door open on so many questions." He growled lowly, watching as she took a hesitant step back. "I am in control, I have always been in control. And when you speak against me, you insult me and the leadership I hold. You are foolish, Rixes." Her eyes locked with his, her maw opening to speak, but he cut her off again. "I have been extremely lenient with you, Araiya." She flinched back, painfully aware of the control he held over her.

"Have you not forgotten those days when we were younger? You said you loved me, did you not?" Zethrox inquired calmly, the anger leaving his voice. "I did, once," Rixes stated bluntly. "But you turned into what you are today. A monster. A fool. An insulant, bloody idiot that has no idea when he has gone too far!" she snapped. Zethrox's head shot up in distaste. "And yet you still dare to fight with the savage beast," he snarled angrily. "Araiya, you are still but a pup inside. You never grew up. By dwelling on the past, all you did was box yourself into a fantasy world, one that could never happen." The words were sharp and heavy, and Rixes growled. "Zethrox, stop. If they hear you..." He cut her off with a snarl, "So what if they hear me? So what if they know who you really are? You would simply be mocked, then raped by every male wolf within a five mile radius!" His voice slowly trickled to a hiss.

Rixes glared at him, uncertain of his self-control. "Just because it did not work, because my mother could not keep me from this fate, doesn't mean that I haven't done everything in my power to stop it. To stop you." Zethrox was taken back. So now he was the bad wolf in the situation, subjecting her to a fate that she had never wanted a part in? "Araiya, you cannot fight destiny," he growled. "Illidar was meant to be lost. You were meant to wind up with me. It is how the world works. Any attempt to change the stars is fooling with unforseen forces. I know better, and I would hope that you do too." Rixes's snarl ripped from her muzzle. "It will not happen, Zethrox. You cannot make this horrible prophecy come to pass, not if I have anything to say about it!" Zethrox watched her with amused eyes, a smirk playing on his maw has he took a determined step towards her. She shrunk back a little, still attempting to maintain her determined attitude.

"My dear Rixes, who said you had any say in this?" His wicked laugh cut through the air as he continued to advance...

"Tell me... Do you know what it's like to be torn in two? To be so irreparably broken that even death won't justify the worst of your sins? Because that's what I am. That's what he did to me." Zethrox refocused on the present in time to catch the femme's words. It was all he could do to meekly nod his head in agreement. "Even the most broken bodies can, hopefully, one day be made whole," he spoke slowly. "Legacy, what is it that you came here seeking? A home? A place to stay? Speak your mind, and perhaps we will see what I can do to help your cause." He was still not completely trusting the femme, yet she had struck a vibe buried so deep in his soul that he could not bear to turn her away. She reminded him of Rixes, Araiya, whatever he truly knew her as. Although she was obviously not as innocent as she tried to make herself seem, neither was the femme he had loved so many years ago.

Zethrox glanced over at Krever, still slightly shaken by the rush of memory. Chances were, he would be speaking to this femme for a little while, and he did not bother to contradict what Legacy had spoken of the chocolate femme before. Let her make her own assumptions; after all, he did hope that someday, Krever would come around and prove to him that she was a worthwhile member of the pack. He saw potential in her, potential that she probably did not even see in herself. Buried behind the rage and disappointment of her life, there was an excellent wolf, one that had much to contribute.

Krever's glare softened as she stared at the ground. Krever assumed so much, and listened so little. Zethrox really had no idea that Fohn was her companion... The day of his death, she wasn't even there. She was running back to him, she had abandoned him with the wolves. 'Now it's my fault.' Krever sighed, lifting her head up to stare into Zethrox's eyes, ignoring Legacy from her peripheral vision. "I believe you." She stated bluntly, Krever didn't know the dark side of Zethrox's past. The only evil side she saw of him was when he killed Fohn. But any wolf would react harshly to an obnoxious raven. In reality, it wasn't anyone's fault. It was nature's doing.

Krever glanced back to Legacy as she spoke up again. Krever sighed, feeling unusually calm in this situation. She was emotionally tired of grieving over Fohn's death, he was long gone, and wasn't coming back. "Trustworthy? You are mistaken..." Krever spoke softly, lowering her head and staring at Zethrox from the corner of her eye is morose. "I'm only an omega, most likely not trusted to be at the dens alone... That... And I guess I needed to be straightened out." Krever licked her lips and left her gaze from her Alpha and smiled shortly. "And it helped. Thank you... Sir."

From there on, Krever sat in silence absorbing what had just happened. She didn't intend to forgive Zethrox, she didn't want to get over Fohn's death. But now everything has changed, and the young chocolate fae had lied to herself once again. 'Doesn't matter... This is my home for now.' Lids closing over bronze eyes and inhaled slowly and huffed it out quietly. As moments passed, the last of Legacy's tale had finally been heard. Her eyes opened again and staring into nothing as Zethrox's questions boomed out to Legacy. The Mexican femora hadn't seen the stubborn, rude side to Krever yet, possibly if Legacy did stay they could be friends. Because that was what Krever really wanted... Was another friend.

Not wanting to pry into the little events she'd clearly interrupted, Legacy had politely turned her head away and tuned out the voices of Zethrox and Krever's private matter. She knew nothing of this Fohn they spoke of, of the heartache that plagued the brown hued fae. At the moment she didn't think it was her place to know. She knew she was an intruder, and though she liked to have her fun she did have a loose sense of social etiquette. If they felt they could carry on in her presence, she would at least pretend she wasn't there so as to give them a bit of privacy.

It wasn't long before all attention was on her though. They both watched her, listened to her every word. The one called Krever seemed disinterested, lost in her own thoughts. Normally that would have annoyed the Mexican to no end, ever the attention hound. As her story wore on, however, she was surprisingly somewhat grateful for the other femme's distractions. Her tale was unpleasant, and she was thankful for the lack of sympathy. The last thing she needed was the pity of a stranger she'd very clearly misjudged. Or had she? Krever couldn't have been that horrible of a wolf if even as Omega she had been left alone with the alpha, the one who'd given her such a demeaning rank. If she couldn't be trusted then she would have been left in the care of her more vicious pack-mates. Instead she'd been given a private chat with the alpha and hadn't tried to take advantage of the situation.

Zethrox's reaction to her history, however, had been much different. She hadn't missed the way her words cut him, forcing him to retreat inside himself. Of course, Legacy was too self-absorbed to make much note of his slight wince. She'd dragged up horrible memories for him. Her own pain and heartache would not let her see what she'd just done though. For all she knew his imagination had run away with him and he was trying to match a face to her vague description of that bastard. Anikira was rather small in terms of being a continent. With many wandering rogues and the alpha's great age, who knew what sort of acquaintances he'd made?

His questions caught her off guard as his voice pulled her from her bitter thoughts. He was offering her sanctuary? She blinked several times, trying to fight back tears of a different nature now. She'd never expected the alpha to fold so easily. Nothing was ever that simple. There had to be some sort of catch! But the emotion in his voice eyes seemed to tell her otherwise. His composure had been shaken slightly, shaken by her, and it'd been enough to earn her acceptance. This greatly confused Legacy, for happiness rarely landed on her doorstep.

Rising to her feet, her auds laid flat as she padded forwards. "You're sweet," she murmured, a half smile on her maw as she halted in front of the larger brute. "It's been a long time since I had a home." Craning her head up, pink tongue slither from between her lips and found its way to the alpha's cheek. She didn't care what consequences her actions had. All she knew was that for one brief moment she'd been granted a chance for happiness, and she was going to hang onto it with everything she had, even if it meant that tomorrow everything would be ripped out from under her again.

Zethrox watched the mexican femme with curiosity. It was slightly unnerving how much her words had affected him; nothing was more uncomfortable than the absolute power his past had over him. Mostly fear, but not fear of discovery. No, he constantly lived with the fear that he would revert to his former self, be reduced to nothing more than a blood-thirsty cannibal. But it was this very fear that kept him from doing just that. Years had nearly perfected his self control, and now fate had decided to play on his insecurities once he had finally found solace. There was nothing that could hurt more than those vile memories that he fought with every day.

However much confusion now rested in his heart, the brute was startled to find Krever thanking him for the talk. Zethrox thought he would never see the day that she would come to terms with the death of her friend; perhaps she had not, but was simply realizing that her bitterness was tiresome and unnecessary. He smiled lightly and nodded to her. Maybe, some day soon, she would be a full member of the pack. Perhaps sooner than later, he thought. As for now, the mexican female required attention. She seemed a little high maintenance, but Zeth believed she would be a worthwhile addition to the pack if her craftiness could be molded. In his mind, it was a valuable tool, and she obviously did not realize that he was a little suspicious of her. Although he would not dare speak a word without allowing time to get to know her, he often had good first impressions of wolves. It was a bit of a gift of his; however, to depend upon his first impression of Legacy would be rude, especially after her obvious recent ordeal.

As the femme ran her tongue along the alpha's muzzle, his tail wagged. Zethrox nodded a little, "You would not believe it, but it has been a long time since I have had a home as well. Perhaps with time my rag-tag pack can become what I've always wanted; a family." With this he grinned. "You will like the others. They are all very interesting characters. Krever here is one of my favorites, actually." Of course, he was pleased with most of his pack. Koli was a little rough around the edges, but so was the alpha. Coeus seemed helpful and interesting, and Zhen and Apollo were always willing characters. He was not the biggest fan of Dewet, mostly because she was much too clingy for his tastes. The femme would smother the aging alpha if she continued the way she had been recently.

"Would you like to join us? We are searching the territory right now, simply scoping out the boundaries and making sure the scent markers still stand. There have been far too many problems with the free lands lately, and I refuse to take any chances allowing the wolves who have caused them to enter my terra," he explained their mission to Legacy. "The remainder of the pack is scattered about, visiting the other packs and performing other necessary duties, such as hunting. If you would rather join the hunting band, I would be willing to show you the way." Whatever the femme wished, he would oblige to. After all, at the moment he was practically putty in her paws.

Krever sniffed the air once, inhaling the scent of the springs only a few yards away. But there were so many other scents as well, especially herself reeked, she hadn't taken very good care of herself lately, due to her overly dramatic nature from Fohn's death. 'Sure... He saved my life. But in all reality, he was just a bird.' Krever murmured in her thoughts, a lump in her throat rising at her betrayal. She was fed up, done.

Licking the fur on her chest once in one swift motion, her facial expression much displeased from the taste of her own coat. But she had to get clean, and the springs were a bit teasing. "Sir.." Her head tilted towards the water with a shrug of her shoulders. "If I may... I promise to be back in a few." Her ears laid back with an apologetic look on her face, she slowly scooted towards the springs and sniffed loudly again.

Without hesitation, the chocolate fae pummeled into the hot water, cringing at the warm temperatures. It was very hot at first, but she soon got used to it. Licking her fur while bathing, rinsing off the dirt and grime from her fur. Once finished, she stepped from the springs with a smile. Her fur was back to it's formal glory, a beautiful chocolate coat. Her bronze eyes glowed happily, after the bath she felt like a completely changed wolf. "I will prove them wrong, all of them. I can change." Krever whispered to herself, shaking off the water from her fur and trotting back over to Legacy and Zethrox who were still clearly in view.

Slowing her pace while a single pant blew from her mouth. "I'm back..." Krever spoke softly while sitting down a few feet from the two wolves. She listened partially to Zethrox speak to Legacy, her name mentioned as her ears backed once more. The favorite? He had to be kidding. She shook off the thought and continued listening, her fur still dripping with water, but at least she smelled better.

The young fae quirked a brow, listening intently as she backed up a few paces and settled herself upon the ground. Eyes wandered briefly, watching Krever stroll into the springs, before settling their attention back upon the charming alpha. No longer did she feel the need to soak herself in the warm waters, absorbing any healing power they had. Since she'd told her tale, it felt as if a weight had been lifted. Her body still ached to a certain degree, but it was less pressing, more manageable now. So long as she believed in her lie, the events of the past seemed less horrid. She herself seemed less guilty. Maybe if she believed hard enough, her lie would become the truth. Legacy could live with that for a little while, at least until Rapture came for her again. Yes. She could delude herself for a little while if it actually meant being happy.

Krever returned to them by the time Zethrox was halfway through his little speech, the Mexican's own mind mulling over what her new pack mates would be like. What could he have meant by "interesting?" That word always held so much weight. Should she be worried? Excited? If they were anything like what she'd seen of Krever, maybe she had nothing to fear. The brown femme seemed quite pleasant to her. A little distant and detached maybe, but it came with the territory. Omegas were forced to live with only their own thoughts as friends. From the corner of her eyes she watched the other fae, wondering just what had happened to earn her such a title.

A smile was on her maw, a slow wag to her tail as her gaze shifted back to the Timber brute. So her choices were hunting or remaining with the present company? Not in the mood for much physical activity at the moment, she had a good idea of which option she'd pick. She was still a stranger in the pack as well. New membership or not, she doubted a second intrusion would have been well received. She would let the pack get used to her presence on their own terms as opposed to her own. Besides, she was much more interested in deciphering her new alpha and the omega currently.

Before she could open her mouth to speak, however, a distant howl cut through the silence. "We've come to meet the Haishin alpha. Should he welcome us, we bring news of Zahir." A smirk was on her maw as she gave a light chuckle, rising to her feet to pad closer to where the sound came from. Her head swiveled back to peer over her shoulder, expression one that dared them to tell her she was wrong. "If you don't mind, I think I'll stick with the two of you. And I think I know where we should start." So what if she was acting a little smug and cocky? Legacy was having fun. For the time being, she had a feeling she was going to quite enjoy her new home.

Zethrox nodded to Krever as she requested momentary leave. He would not attempt to stop her; even if she were to try to escape the binds of her position as Omega of the pack, it would be worthless for the brute to chase after her. At this moment in time, he was comfortable with her around. Although he did not anticipate that she would stay permanently, he figured that their conversation had been enough to put some faith in her. She would make wiser decisions from this point forward. Zeth may not have been psychic, but he was wise enough to realize the change in Krever.

As the two remaining wolves stood, Zethrox watched Legacy. She did not seem like she was in a hurry to leave them, so he assumed she would be accompanying them. Almost as abruptly as she had left their conversation, Krever was back. It was a bit flattering to the brute that she had not rushed out on them; Zeth was extremely pleased with the progress she had made. The femmes had not said anything when a howl cut through the air. It seemed that he was being summoned, and it did not sound like an every day visit. Sounds like someone is in need of some consoltation he thought with a smirk. It was not often the brute would be cynical, but he also was not used to being spoken to like the howl was addressed. Although it seemed to ask permission for his audience, he figured there was not a choice in the matter. Either he attended to these wolves, or he would most certainly regret it in the future. He had enough hindsight to realize this.

"It sounds like we have our next destination," the brute chuckled lightly, watching Legacy. She opted to stay with the pair, and so they were three. It was nice to have company, though the brute did not feel obligated to travel everywhere with a group. He was self-sufficient, even though he was aging. He had not yet lost his touch, but he did not know how many wolves had come to visit their pack lands. The howl said "we," yet it did not specify... The brute was curious.

Zethrox beckoned to Krever for her to follow, then nodded at Legacy, very aware of the cocky smirk spread across her maw. He would not make a comment about it yet, but if she continued to act so superior, he would have problems. There was nothing the brute hated more than a wolf that did not know his place. Of course, she was new, and perhaps simply excited, which is why he did not bother to mention it at the moment. He started off at a light trot, comfortably loping towards whoever thought it was a wise idea to address the land's alpha.
