It was early, irritatingly so, as large paws made their way slowly from Kairos territory in the direction of the Acerbus. The morning light was only a faint glow at the edge of the horizon, a meek hint of the brightness that would eventually follow. Instead, for the time being, the terrain ahead of the tall female was covered in rocky shadows. The tree cover quickly became muted, disappearing slowly the further she moved along. The masked female had a goal, a purpose, a duty to fulfill. But today, this morning, she was not meant to be alone. She hovered quite a way outside of the Descai border, observing silently from the shadows as she waited for her companion to finally surface. They had been assigned a duty, a task in the conquest for Kairos to claim the Acerbus as their own.
She had not met the wolf before and she had heard little about him, but she knew he was a part of her pack and a warrior, therefore he could not be completely useless and unimportant. If he could carry the duty of warrior in Kairos, there was little doubt that he was worthy of the pack's ideals. For now, though, she remained silent and let her curiosity dim, pushing it to the back of her mind and caring very little for who she had been paired with. Her partner during this task mattered little, for she knew that she was more than capable of handling things herself. She was an ambitious one, of course, and though she knew she could not take the entirety of Descai on her own, she doubted she would run into any trouble in this conquest.
Yet, at the same time, the mottled female had never been an idiot, nor would she start to be now. Hence her pause, her patience, as she waited outside of the other pack's lands for the wolf assigned to move with her. Finally she moved once more, finding a comfortable spot at the base of a large overhanging tree to settle in the darkness that still engulfed the area. The ridge was wide, though there were no signs of pack life anywhere. Hell, there were barely any scents about the area. It seemed completely and totally abandoned, and though the dark female yearned for the opportunity to prove herself and actually do something other than play guard dog for her pack, she doubted she would see any action today.
