Alina still hadn't spent much time in this land she had come to call home. She had met very few of her pack mates despite all of her time here, Kujo and Nymph easily befriended. She could be charming if she wanted to be, but most of the time her boisterous demeanor only alienated her from others. Not everyone was as accepting as her few friends seemed to be. She couldn't fathom why she acted the way that she did, but she found she had little patience for the more serious aspects of life. She lived for the chance to play, to remain in her almost permanent childlike state. She enjoyed the simple things. Alina had been accepted into the ranks of Airila and she had begun to grow more and more fond of it and it's members. There was one thing however that seemed to draw her mind further and further south with each passing day. Thor having only spent hours with her had managed to leave her feeling bereft following his departure. They had grown close, closer with each moment they had lain together.
She should have been more cautious around him, but her brain hadn't conceived any thought of danger. It had been breeding season and he had been a lone male wandering from another pack. Should I have been more wary? If she had guarded herself against him she wouldn't have such fond memories to cherish. She had asked Thor to promise her to remember, but there was no guarantee other than his word that he would. She trusted him and knew that he would do his best, but she couldn't help the feeling that she was fighting a losing battle. He had a life down south and as much as she wanted to be a part of that life, it wasn't meant to be. Alina would remember him for the remainder of his life and she hoped that he would prove her doubts wrong and return for her. If not then she would have to simply move on with her life.
As she walked along she noticed that the breeze was warmer that it had been in the time since her arrival on this continent. It felt as if spring was finally breaking past the cold clutches of winter, making it's way into the world. Alina loved spring almost as much as she did the heat of summer. With spring came new life, that of pups and other baby creatures. It also brought the new bloom that would cover this land with so much life. Prey had been abundant all winter so she couldn't even imagine how busy the forest would be soon. She had never been very adept at hunting, but she knew that the newest life couldn't evade her clumsy efforts. Nymph had offered to teach her the art of gather, but what she wanted to learn the most was hunting and fighting.
She had some vague memories about her family, three brothers that she had to call her own. She wondered if they had ever tried to teach her to hunt, but then again from what she could remember there was no free land to roam. No prey to hunt, only dry food that tasted like dirt. She hoped that she could find a companion here who would be willing to teach her some new skills. She couldn't stay soft for the rest of her life. Whether Thor returned for her or not, she would need to learn to be a wolf. he had to stop relying on others for everything. Alina was inspired to better herself, now all she had to do was reach for it.
