History:Severus had a troubled childhood. He knew nothing other than his mother’s undying affection, and he clung to her for the guidance and nourishment he never received from an uncaring, unsympathetic father. The death of his mother’s second litter in its entirety drove his father to the brink of insanity, and in a show of his savageness, he slaughtered his mate before his son’s eyes, proceeding to commit suicide by ramming headfirst into a tree. Although shaken by his roots, Severus has proven his recovery through the form of leadership, now reigning over a pack known to the continent of Anikira as Ultoris, and it’s upon his own land that he met a female named Xena.
Her adolescence was far less tragic. It was by her own choosing that she left her parents and siblings behind, desiring a life for herself that didn’t include a constant worry as to whether or not enough prey would be supplied for the entire family to not starve over the night. She spent a lot of time as a loner, rarely threatened, if ever, for the sheer size of her was impressive enough to forewarn to even the largest male that she was not to be carelessly trifled with. Eventually, she found herself aligned with the ranks of Kairos, a blooming empire located on the island of Ina’mos, and it’s upon those very lands that she found herself a comfortable position as a Praetorian - declared bodyguard to the Matriarch - and a home on which she could give birth to her two offspring, knowing that they needn’t fear for their lives while they grow alongside the triumphant, colossal wolves succeeding them.
Since Banshee will be limited to Ina’mos for the duration of her adolescence, it will be long before she’s able to meet her father, let alone think about his identity, and for that she will remain at her mother’s side loyally, clinging to someone that doesn’t care for her limitless affection. She will try again and again to win Xena’s approval, to get her to reveal that she cares about her, even if only a little, but it will take time for the young she-wolf to truly understand that it’s simply in her mother’s nature to be distant; until then, she will crave an adoration that she’ll never be able to get.
Since her only sibling, Wraith, will have been traded to Ultoris long before she's able to form any connection with her, Banshee will feel isolated in her work to make her mother express anything towards her. She won't avoid her fellow puppies as she grows - not until she realizes her own independence in full - but it will be difficult for her to attach herself to any of them, to truly identify any of them as her friend, when the first attachment she ever formed (to Xena) was thrown back at her in rejection. This need to be appreciated by her mother will push Banshee towards becoming a warrior, her above-average size for a female granting her the opportunity. The role of an Executioner is, perhaps, unfitting for a female, let alone one with such emotion and attachment, but Banshee will strive to prove herself in anyway that she can in order to gain Xena’s approval and, therefore, her own; even if doing so means she must feign a hollowness that will slowly eat away at her humanity, pulling her towards an inevitable fate in which ruthlessness and lethality come as second nature.
Personality:Affection. Adoration. Plain and simple love. She will crave all of the above, she will hunger for them in anyway that she can get them, and it’s all because they’re things she will recognize at an early age as being unobtainable. Her own mother will deprive her of these things, if not only because she’s unfamiliar with what it means to be caring, and without an active fatherly presence involved in her life, she will have nowhere to go to receive what she will desire so helplessly. Of course, as she gets older and, therefore, becomes a touch more independent and self-reliant, her need for affection from her mother will become less obvious but will be nonetheless present in her day to day life. As she learns that Xena will never simply give out her fondness, she will take to a different means of trying to earn it. Her entire career as an Executioner will come down to the relentless need to prove that she’s worthy of having Xena’s acceptance, and every kill that she will force herself to make, every success that occurs at her paws in the name of Kairos, will always return to her mother, to her face, yellow eyes that will be taught to be hollow searching for a trace of approval to make her see that everything she will do will not be done in vain. Her mother's devotion to Kairos, to Goliath's sovereignty, will push Banshee towards attempting to impress him greatly - this being one of many ways through which she will try to appeal to Xena. If she finds ways to make him approve of her, to make him believe that he didn't make a mistake when to entrust yet another female with a position rightfully belonging to males, then she hopes for her mother to see more reason in establishing a closer bond with her one daughter remaining in Kairos.
Banshee will appear heartless, truly monstrous, for there is little else to be expected from the hectic soul of an Executioner, but none of it will be real. She will become an expert at presenting herself as what she thinks her mother wants to see, as what Goliath will require to see in order for her to keep her rank, and even though it will eat her up inside, even though it will be poison for her heart, she won’t let herself stop. The emotions that she will be exposed to everyday will grow heavy, and sometimes they will make her aggressive, sometimes they will make her outright mean, but every last bit of it will be for show because she can’t afford anyone suspecting that she’s a fraud that must talk herself into making the kill and then talk herself out of feeling the guilt. She doesn’t want anyone to see how soft she’s capable of being; her interior is weak, and although she will despise it, although she will tirelessly attempt to change it, nothing can be done about the way she is.
Her path, however, won’t entirely inflict negatives upon her. Killing will be a hard thing for her to do, but in the end she does it, she succeeds and therefore proves her worth, and that will make her prone to outbursts of haughtiness and entitlement. She will occasionally convince herself of her own immortality, for in a kingdom of giants she will be crowned an Executioner, and she will take great pride in holding this over the head of anyone that dares to question her or, even worse, attempt to comment on how she’s not as strong-willed as she likes to make everyone think she is. Overall, she’s able to be kind, perhaps even selfless if the situation should call for it, but she locks all of her goodness away in favour of presenting herself as someone who should be feared - someone who has been trained to kill, not to wound, and someone like that is hardly believable to be kind.
