It had been so long, far too long since she had stepped one paw onto her family's homeland. Ariella had been off doing some soul searching along with searching for her dearest mother, only to fail during the process. The young female had followed her trail up until it had run cold. Her luck had run out. Her mother was nowhere to be seen and the few stragglers she had spoken to claimed to have never seen or heard of her. All hope of finding her mother alive and bringing her back to Descai had been destroyed. Ariella couldn't help the weight that was in her chest; it was truly saddening. She hadn't expected things to go the way she had- in fact she had hoped for a much better outcome than this. She had been hoping that she would come back with her mother, not empty handed. Her paws dug into the moist topography, talons clawing into the dirt ferociously as she walked. She stuck out like a sore thumb against the dark backdrop of the night. Her pelt was the color of pure gold aside from the white markings framing her ear tips, cheek bones, paws, and the tip of her tail. She was a beautiful femme, anyone could see that. Anyone would also know that she had been born into royalty. Ariella was the missing Descai princess. A defiant one at that. Ariella didn't take defeat kindly, she didn't like the feeling and didn't want to have to face her father with no answers for him. She had been hoping she would have SOMETHING to bring back with her, but instead she was as empty handed as when she had began her search. She had heard specific rumors though on her trip back home- rumors that they had lost Acerbus. The thought made her gut twist, it made her absolutely sick. She wouldn't believe that Ryker would just hand over their home so easily, but apparently he had. Upon her return she had tiptoed into Acerbus, not enough to be detected of course. One inhale indicated a repulsing scent, one that indicated her family no longer claimed the land. Sorrow filled her, even more bad news for her to deal with. It simply did not gel with the female. She turned tail then and took off, headed for the last little piece of land that they had held onto.
Her travels had been quick, she didn't want to waste anymore time. She needed to find her father, needed to figure out just what had been going on while she was gone. The further she got the more absent Ryker's scent became and she found an odd emotion running through her blood, anger. Ariella was hardly ever an angry wolf, but this- this made her absolutely furious. The fact that they had lost their homeland, a land that she had grew up in, was simply unacceptable. This was something she would never forgive Ryker for. She couldn't forgive him no matter how badly she wanted to. She ground her teeth together as she ran, unsure of where to go. Finally she made a decision, her mind set on the man made structures and forestry. It had been her safe place and she wanted the comfort of her old stomping ground. She pulled up to an elegant walk then, her strides smooth as she walked. Her tiara was held high, white tipped auds perked forward and swiveling atop her petite skull. There was only the sound of the crickets and other insects chirping in the night, for the most part she was alone. She strode over to one of the trees and rubbed her back up against it before sitting down alongside it. Her shoulder pressed into the bark as she leaned against it, her ice blue eyes gazing up at the stars. She was home and she knew it would only be a matter of time before someone within the pack found her. For now she was content to rest in her solitude. There was a lot of thinking that she needed to do. Mostly she was confused, and hurt. Her tail wrapped around her hind paws and she glanced down at the ground for a moment. How had all of this happened? The Descai had been one of the strongest packs once upon a time, and now they were nothing but dust in the wind. There were few scents in the territory and it was saddening. This was not the way things were supposed to be here! Ariella refused to let things continue on this way, perhaps it was time for her to do some recruiting herself.
