She had been here before, she had hunted here before, and she had been hunted here before. It was early, far too early to move quite yet. She laid curled up in the tall grass several yards into the trees from the wide open space that was called the Shydar. Typically she would have found some sort of hiding place, tucked away in some corner of the world where no one could hurt her. But today, things were different. Today she was tucked in against another wolf, but it was not Lex and it was not Lalani. She had met Auron by chance a few days ago, back during a horrible storm that had shaken her - like usual - to the core. She had stumbled into a cave to find the invisible wolf hidden in there already. Now they were traveling together, friends and companions, while Lex was away.
She had no idea where the unique colored male that she had fallen for had disappeared to, but she knew she would see him again sooner or later. For now, though, she stretched almost lazily beside Auron and yawned softly. The sound came off sort of squeaky, and she closed her eyes lightly before lifting her head and looking around. The scent of prey was strong, though she made sure to keep her body low to avoid alerting them at all of their presence. She was sure that Auron would be waking shortly, and though they had worked on hunting small prey together a bit, they had yet to tackle anything larger than a bulky hare. She lifted her nose, inhaling deeply and opening her eyes to look over at the field beside them.
There was no mistaking it. There was a herd of deer there, and though it seemed to be a small one, she figured they might actually have a chance at taking something larger than a rabbit down for a change. Her paw was mostly healed up, and though the area was still mildly red and sensitive, she could put all her weight on it and she was sure that running was a very high possibility. After a few moments she finally pushed herself to her feet, stretching slowly and yawning silently. After this, she lowered her nose, poking the male beside her gently to wake him up. She was not sure if he would remember where they had slept for the night, but the scent of prey was unmistakable. If he woke loudly, he would scare off the herd, but if he inhaled even slightly, he would be able to easily tell that they were not too far away.
