No longer did the growing she wolf remember her true family. Her mother was Nova, her father was Than, and for all she knew, those were indeed her true family. She never questioned why she looked different from her parents as she was still too young to understand things like how genetics worked. Her coat was now a bright red and a dark black, the brilliant hues of her breed. Her eyes were a stunning neon purple, bright enough to match her personality. She was tall and slim, nearly full grown, and her movements were agile and graceful. She had come a very long way from when Than first found her and she still had her whole life ahead of her.
As she strolled through her pack’s territory, she thought of what it might be like to lead her own pack. Her steps were high and quiet and with each one came a new thought. Responsibility, drama, and sleepless nights were just a few of the things she thought of to describe what it could be like to lead. Nothing she could think of was something she wanted to deal with so, while she didn’t want to disappoint her father, she knew that leading a pack or being the main female simply wasn’t for her. She wanted freedom, she wanted to do as she pleased and come and go as she wished. She didn’t want the weight of responsibility on her shoulders, she didn’t want to deal with drama, and she didn’t want to lose sleep on nights when she was worried about her pack. She wanted to worry about herself and herself alone.
Once she came to clear spot, she stretched out and laid down, the sun beaming down onto her back making her shiver in warmth. With a lazy yawn, she laid her head down upon her paws. She was relaxed and, while she wished for some company, she doubted it would be this peaceful with another around. When she was alone, all she heard were the sounds of nature, crickets chirping and birds singing for example and it was the way she preferred things. She loved nature and she enjoyed being a part of it. She couldn’t understand how others could overlook it, how they could be too busy to appreciate all the beauty around them. Gently closing her eyes, she vowed to never become like those she didn’t understand. She would always take time to listen to the sounds around her and appreciate all the small things. She would also always enjoy the beauty that was all around her.
