The Past▹ This is a tale of a wolf born from a religious pack deep within the jungles of Kal'Dyne. The pack, though sparse, was a strong one. Their rules and regulations were based off of the gods. If you were "marked" you were considered favorable, and if you were "normal" you were given a lesser rank. Before Cherokee was born her parents were considered normal, nothing special in comparison to a few of the wolves that took up the substantial ranks within the pack. Males were considered strong and worthy whereas females were considered holy, their bodies a temple for their mate and the gods only. Mating season was a particular time where only a few of the wolves within the pack were given the green light- perhaps if they were lucky enough to be chosen by the gods. Reciso was her father, a normal sized brute and a warrior of the pack. Mystic, her mother, was a healer. Their romance was obvious even through a strangers eyes and although they had not been chosen they still took part in the mating ritual. The result had been one single pup, a female with pure ivory fur aside from exquisite light brown facial markings and light brown tips on her ears. She was marked. She was blessed with the name Atara but she remained hidden from the rest of the pack. Although she would have been considered royalty her parents kept her hidden, she was their secret and their secret only. With each day that passed her curiosity grew. Why couldn't she meet the others? Was there something wrong with her? Her curiosity for the rest of the world made her ask numerous questions, though the answers she received hardly satisfied her. Both of her parents would leave her alone in their den for the majority of the day. Some days she would talk to herself since there was no one else to speak to her; this was where her split personality came about. But despite this she was roughly intelligent- enough so to get her into trouble. With each day she began to wonder just what was on the outside of her cave. She was so accustomed to the dark that she was unaware of the warmth of the sun. She would occasionally hear birds chirping outside, as if they were luring her to come outside of the cave. She would lie as close as possible to the entrance, her petite head resting on her front paws as she stared longingly with golden brown occuli. Simply waiting for her chance to escape. Atara was no fool. She became accustomed to her parents' routine. She would lie and wait at the mouth of the cave until she knew they would be due home, and then she would return to the dark depths of the cave, far from the entrance. She did not want them to suspect anything, especially that she was planning an escape. Her father was extremely protective, enough so that it was irritating. Her mother would dote on her, as if she was the most precious thing on the earth. But Atara would hold her tongue, biding her time until she would finally meet the outside world. Atara was a little over a year old when she awoke to the sound of rain falling on the roof of her cave. The repetitive pounding was enough to lull her back to sleep but she fought the instinct. Her parents were long gone, and she knew that the rain would keep them even longer. She swallowed the lump that arose in her throat and crept towards the opening of the cave. Slowly but surely she made her way until finally the rain began falling in fat droplets against her fur. She jumped backward out of pure shock and then hesitantly stuck her nose out to sniff the air. It was damp and the smell of rain was thick in the air. Finally though she got the courage to exit the cave completely. That first step was all it took before she was running full speed away from her cave. She was free! Free from hiding! The rain pelted her hide but she didn't care. It was as if she were washing away all of the remnants of her former life. By the time nightfall came she was far from home and she had decided that Atara would no longer be her calling. She had given herself the name Cherokee.
The Present▹ Shortly after Cherokee had left her natal pack she had run into the borders of Valyn. Living a life of seclusion left her completely unaware of the natural form of hierarchy in the world. Cherokee was unaware of pack borders and other wolves in general. The only interactions she had ever had with her own kind were with her parents. All other wolves were completely new to the young female. Her first encounter with another wolf however was not a kind one. The first wolf she had run into was a female like herself, though much larger and twice as aggressive. This wolf was the dominion of Valyn, a warrior that feared no one. The fact that she had run into her during a patrol was not the best of situations. Needless to say that was the first time that Cherokee learned how good she was at running. However the look that the female with the strange eyes had given her was enough to stick in her brain. She stared for an incredibly long three seconds before attacking. But what exactly was she looking at? Up until this time Cherokee had no clue of the fact that she was unique. That her appearance was simply unnatural. But she did not think of it for much longer. Her main intention was staying away from others, even though she wanted so badly to meet them. As time passed she began to teach herself to hunt, if she didn't steal from others first. Her speed was an advantage and she soon became a scavenger. All it took was the initial shock of her appearance towards others. In those moments she would steal what she could and then leave as fast as her body could manage. Nowadays however she has begun to use her looks to manipulate others. Some foolish boys would hunt for her expecting that she would stay with them, only to have her turn on them as soon as her stomach was filled. It did not take her long to get the hang of things. Being different made things easier for her, at least when it came to manipulating others. However Cherokee didn't want to live a lifestyle of stealing and using. She wanted a home where she could converse with others and show her true personality. Up to this point she has yet to find the right home, but she is searching to settle down. She is choosing to stay far from the jungles of her natal pack in hopes that no one will discover her- her next objective is fulfilling her new destiny. Each day that passes she is perfecting her self discipline, hunting, and self defense. Although her split personality can sometimes make things a tad bit difficult- making her appear a bit contradictory in nature. When meeting new wolves Cherokee can seem crude and sarcastic (this however is just a defense mechanism). Once she feels that she can trust you her more fun and playful side emerges. But because she was kept hidden from the world while growing up it affected her mentally; causing her to be a bit weirder than the average wolf.
Personality:
Intelligent▹ Cherokee is an extremely intelligent female considering everything she went through as a young pup. She seems to have a good head on her shoulders and knows how to get herself out of the toughest of situations. She is cunning and intuitive, and almost nine out of ten times she can tell a wolf's intentions from a mile away.
Curious▹ Ever since she was a child Cherokee had an intense amount of curiosity. Cherokee can almost never resist the urge to quench her curiosity. Whether she is asking a million questions or investigating things on her own she is always searching for answers one way or another.
Manipulative▹ This female is aware that she is different. She knows that she is not a normal female and uses her unique appearance to manipulate others. Most of the time she targets males because it is easy to get under their skin. If she can get someone to do something for her she will. As long as she doesn't have to over-exert herself she almost doesn't care. Part of her knows that it is wrong to use others but so far that talent has allowed her to survive and she will continue to use it in order to protect herself.
Playful▹ Because Cherokee was hidden from the rest of the world she still has a very prominent side of her that is still a young pup. There are moments where this can be clearly seen, either in the way that she speaks or the way that she acts. She often is not aware of this change in behavior and instead just likes to joke and play around with others because she enjoys it.
Silly▹ Along with her playful side comes her silly side. She loves playing pranks on others and will almost always play a prank on a complete stranger. It does not matter whether she knows you or not, she will mess around and push your buttons regardless of who you are to her.
Shy▹ Upon first meeting others Cherokee has a huge shy side. She still is learning on how to interact with others and doesn't know how to act in response to other wolves. This can make her come off as very shy and a bit ditzy. She tries desperately to fit in and sometimes that comes off as a little aggressive, but she hardly means anything by it.
Caring▹ Although she can be very shy when it comes to being around others there is a huge part of her that is very caring. Cherokee cares about the well being of others when she isn't trying to take from them. If someone is hurt she does her best to help them, and if god forbid something would happen to a friend or family member of hers all hell would break loose.
Protective▹ It is true that Cherokee has a very protective side to her. If she feels the need she will not hesitate when it comes to ripping into someone. She knows quite a bit of self defense after being on her own for so long and if she feels threatened she won't hesitate in letting you know, either with her words or her teeth.
Sarcastic▹ Sarcasm is pretty much all this female speaks. She can be extremely blunt and uncaring without even trying and most of the time she can say some pretty crude things as well as being sarcastic to the point where it is just plain hurtful. However Cherokee is not purposely trying to do so, it is simply just how she operates.
