Hello, everyone! I thought that I'd introduce myself formally to the site by posting here. My name is Demeter (or Demy is also a+). I'm 20 years old and I live in 'Murica. She/Her pronouns please! I haven't actively played on an animal RP in.... years o.o Originally, I had left the genre to explore the wonderful world of humans and their endeavors. On previous animal sites, there had been issues with "power whoring" and players who could basically do whatever they wanted because they had the biggest baddest characters and soon it just turned into a "who can make a bigger, meaner, more powerful character" competition and it was just more stressful than it was worth. I had originally thought that playing humans would eliminate issues of cliques and all powerful characters but I was sooooooo wrong. I had basically the same problems but instead of being big and mean, the characters just had flat plot lines and pretty faces. I don't know how much human role playing you guys do but oh. my. god. Literally, all the characters fell into one of ten archetypes. Maybe, if the players were trying to be "unique" they'd throw in one of those traits like "I'm a tomboy but I secretly love flowers and I work at a flower shop!" >____________> And then everyone was only concerned with face-shipping and romance plots and smutty posts (don't get me wrong, i love the smut and romance plots can be very fulfilling but having the same ones played over and over again with different names gets tiring, yeah?).

ANYWAY, I got tired of dealing with all of that horse fuckery and here I am! Back to my "four-legged creature" home. I'm sorry that this intro turned into a rant. I'm secretly a cranky old lady. I'm not so great at talking about myself but I'll be lurking around in the cbox as I settle myself in and my PMs are always open for chatting and whatnot

Congrats on finding one of the few havens that I can honestly say stays far away from such wonderfully creativity crushing issues. O.O Wow, you've been in the game a long time! Honestly, I hope to role play for the rest of my life, so it's really cool to meet someone who's been doing it for as long as you have -kneels in reverence- 

But I'm really glad that I found this place and that my battles with pettiness and shallow plots are coming to a close. You guys seem like mature adults who actually know how to write well-thought out characters and interesting 3 dimensional plots and I'm super excited to dive in and immerse myself in all of it xD

I empathise totally with your disillusionment. I have a bunch of friends who are into human rps and and it seems so boring, everyone is just obsessed with getting their fc and then making trite, one dimensional characters. Blegh. Anikira is brimming with cool characters and plots though so I'm sure you'll enjoy it! I hadn't rped at all in a few years before I joined here but it's like riding a bike haha

As far as RPing, I believe I started off with wolves. Wolves have always been my main love RP wise but I have done dogs, humans, and sonic like characters. Overall I think I have been RPing for 5+ years.

I totally understand the clique thing and I despise it as well. Thankfully here at Anikira, we are a family and we have a diversity of characters.

Don't worry about not having done animal roleplays for quite a while, because when I joined Anikira the only similar site that I had played on was a literate horse RP which was, unfortunately, quite short-lived, but I still felt welcome and managed to learn the ins and outs of these types of roleplays. I've roleplayed mostly wolves all my life, although I once tried to RP lions, dogs and horses but nothing really stuck like wolves did. I hate human RP's as well so I understand you completely.
