Despite the fact that he had never before had a mate, or even a close girl friend, Renee had still taught him from a young age how to treat females, especially ones close to him. She had taught him manners, how to always use yes ma’am and no ma’am, how to see them as an equal and not as someone who was lesser than him just because of their gender. She had taught him how to do things they would enjoy, like picking flowers or bringing them special places. She was the reason he wanted a mate as bad as he did, was the reason he would treat that mate like a queen, and was the reason he would be particular over who he chose, wanting someone who would stay with him forever.
He knew it would be difficult to get her to see that she was very far from a monster but he was determined to do so. He would start with learning from her, showing her that the knowledge she held could benefit and help others and that if she was monster, she wouldn’t be willing to share that knowledge. He would get to know her past, figure out why she thought herself a monster, and use that knowledge to show her how things have changed and how she has overcome her past. He would continue to call her beautiful and his angel, both of which she was. With time, she would come to believe him, he was sure of it, and he would be extremely happy when she did.
“I would take a few months apart over a lifetime of being in separate packs any day,” he spoke up, not wanting her to dismiss the idea just because of the length of time it would take to complete. “I would be happy to help you find someone willing to learn if it meant getting you over here with me.” He knew recruiting wolves for another pack was not something he would normally do but he would gladly make an exception if it meant getting Myth to himself. When she told him not to make promises he couldn’t keep, his head instantly shot up. “I don’t,” he said with complete seriousness. “I will never make a promise I am not one hundred percent sure I can keep. I am certain that I will make time for you no matter what responsibilities I may have.”
