Night was falling, and it was falling fast. The eerie glow of the nearly full moon lit up most of the lands. That is, except the forest. It lit up the woods a little, since the trees were not thick and there were no leaves on the trees -a reminder that a flame had once scorched these lands. The misty fog that settled over the land, however, absorbed much of the light and made it much more difficult to see anything within ten feet. Sounds seemed to echo back from all angles, and there seemed to be a quiet whispering constantly in the background, though it was hard to say if that was the restless spirits said to haunt the lands or just the wind. A young wolf picked her way over the dead leaves that covered the ground. A quiet crackle sounded around her each time she laid a paw on the soft ground. Worried eyes constantly checked around her for movement, but she figured it was useless. If anything was out there, she wouldn't see it until it was on top of her anyway... Maybe even quite literally on top of her if she was attacked at all.
Nervous ears flicked around on top of her skull as she took cautious steps forward, tail tucked between her legs. She was most obviously fearful of her surroundings, and she wasn't sure that she was feeling much else. She recalled her encounter with the wolf they called Kenai, and how afraid she had been. A storm on top of being trapped in a cavern with a stranger, and she was on anxiety overload. But this... This was a whole new level of fear that she was feeling. Here, she didn't want to be alone. It was the first time in as long as she could remember that she had felt the need to have someone beside her. While she wished it was her father, she figured any good natured wolf would do. But there didn't seem to be anyone here... Just her and the whispers that seemed to come from every direction, but from no solid being. Glancing behind her, the she-wolf continued on, hoping to pass through the lands and continue on her trek to the coast, her search for a new home continuing with each new day.
