Before him loomed the ridge, one of the last places he had left to explore, and Typhon was ready. He had roamed the land of Kal'dyne with open eyes and ears, and was met with no opposition. Perhaps it was a blessing, but the wolf was bored with it; he wanted combat, he wanted to fight, and here he was, conquering an empty land. "Onyx, I am disappointed," he said over his shoulder, glancing over at the dark wolf who so resembled Olympus and Othrys but who was not related to the brothers. In fact, he was not really related to any of them, as far as Ty knew, but he was becoming part of the family all the same. "Where are all the wolves? What in the world are we conquering, the dirt?"
Datura had deemed him worthy of her love, and so the light-coated wolf had given him a chance. He was strange, this adopted brother, but he had not been unbearable, and his size and victory after the Agoge made him a valuable ally for a wolf intent on conquest. Typhon had asked him to come along, and did not regret the decision. Perhaps the experience would bring them even closer, allowing the males to become friends instead of simply pack mates.
Gargantuan paws brought both wolves to the top of the small but impressive ridge, and the taller of the two took in a huge breath through his nose, scenting the air around them and pulling in the sweet smell of the trees below. The forest and grass spread green across the land, a stark contrast to the barren ground they had taken to get here, and Ty found himself grinning at the lush scenery, glad for a change of pace. "Come now, my friend, let us find something to eat in case the enemy decides to appear," he said as he took off down the side of the ridge, sliding much of the way and creating a cloud of dust that enveloped him.
Once at the bottom, Typhon coughed a few times to rid his lungs of the corrosive dust and shook his pelt out, irritated by the grime despite having enjoyed the ride down. But grooming was not something that time would allow for today, and so he settled his fur back down and resigned himself to looking as though he had rolled through the territory rather than walked. Another large sniff entered his nose when the air was clearer, and several options came to his brain for what the two could hunt. Turning back to Onyx, he asked, "What shall it be, then? Many small meals or a single large one? Plenty of options here, it seems. This land will serve Kairos well."
