[Solitaire]

A desert wasn't so horrible in the Fall, but the reason Solitaire had been drawn to the area was the sands that reminded him of home. A home that was, before all of this. A beach front area that had been the very reason Solitaire had gotten here in the first place. Dragged out to sea during a storm, grasping at a log to stay afloat those days where salt had caked to his soaked fur. Any longer and Solitaire knew he would have gotten too dehydrated to hold onto that log; he would have been lost to the waves. Yet that was not what fate had in store for him, because here he was, roaming through lands he'd never even heard of before. For that reason and many others, Solitaire was on guard as he moved along, edging away from the jagged rocks at the riverside.

This was certainly no Glorall and there would be no seals to ambush here, but Solitaire could make do with fishing once he found better placement at the river's edge. It didn't look like a good place for swimming, but at this point Solitaire wasn't sure when he'd even want to go swimming again after the ordeal with how he got here. Food, however, was not a thing he could avoid. And until he was back to full strength, a hunt based on stamina wasn't as easy as waiting to hook a fish on his claws or snap down with teeth over fleeing scales. Therefore, fishing was the best option at the moment, unless he wanted to attempt an ambush on one of the smaller prey animals. That could work better if he knew more about the lands he was traveling in, though.

And the best way to understand where he was? Wander along and learn about it. Something that he was working on doing now, which accounted for the distance he was moving along over, careful to avoid the borders of lands claimed by packs. Solitaire was unsure about going near any just yet, because he had no idea what the wolves living here would be like. That sort of unknown made him nervous, and for a shy type of wolf, that did not help matters any. He would linger around and learn more if he could and see where that led him. Eventually, he hoped, to a pack he could belong to. The thought made him smile, even as he shuffled around a sharper shrub lining close to the river. Perhaps near here could be a good place to fish... but that meant getting closer to the rishing water, and Solitaire was feeling some anxiety over that matter...

[attr="class","itdscroll"]His life had been a lavish one since going out on his own. Who needed a pack anyways when you could have yourself? Although he did yearn for the pack life he wasn't too bothered by having some alone time. He was in perfect shape and of course he was devilishly handsome, life honestly couldn't get any better. He strolled through the woods, muscles coiling and releasing beneath his taut pelt. And it was true, he was a rather unique looking fellow. His pelt was a series of different colors consisting of tan, cream, white, and dark brown along with a few reddish hints here and there. His eyes are however what attracted others to him the most, or at least that was what they had told him. They were a piercing apple green which seemed to always grip the ladies hearts. He chuckled to himself lightly at the thought of women. If there was one thing in life that Evander loved more then himself it would have to be the women. If he could just be worshiped by women on a daily basis he would be set for life but that wasn't the case. Nowadays women wanted respect and were willing to fight males to receive it, which was foolish in his eyes. Women did not have a right to fight, no matter how big or small they were. No it was the males job to protect and conquer, which happened to be something that he excelled at. Speaking of excelling at things, now was the time for him to excel at hunting. He found that he was beginning to grow famished as well as extremely thirsty- the climate was a lot drier here which resulted in him needing water more frequently then what he was accustomed to. So it was with that mind set that he continued to weave his way through the trees, his head held high as his nares flared.

Evander had always been excellent when it came to tracking and sneaking around. Today however he was on the hunt for water. He had known that there was a river close to here, he just hadn't had the chance to visit it yet. And with the river would be fish, which happened to be one of his favorite delicacies. He continued happily along the worn path until the scent of a stranger entered his nasal passages. Another male eh? He thought to himself with a roll of his shoulders. Evander found that he hadn't been around another male since the last time he had seen his father. The experience hadn't been a good one and had left a sour taste in his mouth BUT he was not intimidated by other males. In fact he could careless if he were around them. He just needed them to understand one thing, he was the top dog. Evander wouldn't hesitate to let that be known because he would be damned if someone else thought they were better then him. He rolled his eyes and pinned his auds for a moment before continuing forward until finally the sight of the water came into view as well as the form of the stranger. He continued to move forward until there was only a few feet between them. I guess I'm not the only one who wanted water today. He said bluntly, his eyes never moving from the face of the stranger. He didn't sit nor move and instead stood staring, waiting for this male to speak in response to his words.

[Skye]

Rocks shifted quietly under her paws as a creature moved carefully, trying not to damage her paws too much on the sharper rocks. Only soft whimpers left her maw every now and then as sharp points attacked in between her pads. As soon as she passed them, she paused momentarily to let her paws adjust to the solid ground. Rocks were not her favorite things. In fact, she normally tried to avoid them, but she didn't want to leave the water's edge.

The hunger slowly gnawing at her, did not phase her enough to attempt to retrieve a fish, even as a few broke the water's rapid surface. Shaking her skull to free the water that had sprayed up at her face, she heaved a sigh, catching the scents of two other creatures.

Turning to face the wind, she looked around, spotting them with ease. On instinct, she dropped her tail and lowered herself slightly. From this distance, she wasn't for sure what they were, but they sure seemed like males. A set of creatures that she sometimes feared the most. They had a tendency to be more aggressive with her than the females.

Not attempting to get any closer, Skye lowered her body down fully to the ground, her tail silent. Laying by the shore, watching the other creatures, she felt exposed with her dark fur. She really did not like this light colored land with no real cover. There was no way she could hide here. Not unless she somehow managed to find a few big rocks clumped together somewhere. But even there, it would be risky. So instead of moving any further, she stayed where she was, making herself look at small as her semi-large form would allow, looking and hoping for a way around the males, but never found one. She would at one point have to accept her fate here, and confront the males at some point, but for now, she stayed where she was, her eyes on the water and it's inhabitants.

Solitaire understood the need for time alone, and had lived off by himself for a few good months before returning to Glorall a second time. There were conflicting thoughts on all of that, mostly due to the fact that he felt that he shouldn't have wasted so much time before going back to what he still thought of as 'home'. At least he'd gotten in some good memories, no matter that the bad ones had also piled in afterwards. He needed to shake that, because home was a long distance away from here. Solitaire had to make the best of what he had found, the life that he had fallen into. Trying to think optimistically did not ease the anxiety he was feeling as he peered at the fast rushing water. His thoughts instantly jumped to how he had gotten here; the storm that had dragged him out to sea for days. Solitaire knew that it was some form of post tramatic stress going on, but he was just as aware that he needed to get over these issues and deal with what was bothering him. Plus, he couldn't very well go fishing if he had some problem with going closer to the water.

His stomach rumbled, and Solitaire pressed closer to the water, trying to decide if this would make a good fishing spot. One jump would tip him off to at least try to hook or snap at one of the scaly bodies, but a lack of movement from swimming bodies would only indicate that he needed to move to another spot. Alas, that was not something that Solitaire was going to be able to think twice about judging on. Another had come along, and Solitaire had the opposite kind of feeling at the sight and scent of another male. He was much more at ease around other males rather than females, but life had it's twists and bends, and he'd learned to be untrusting more of the females. Or more of himself around them. It wasn't that he had bad intentions when in the same area as a female, because Solitaire was far from that sort of wolf. Yet his internal reactions over the matter were uncomfortable, and he was forced to remember what had happened while with the vagabonds. Not a time in his life that he wanted to remember, but he was more or less stuck with it..

The way that the male was acting while moving closer had Solitaire on alert, but he wasn't going to stick his nose into anything; he was hoping that the male would only pass by and not bother at all with him, but that did not seem to be the way of it. The words had Solitaire frowning ever so slightly. "There's plenty of water, but I was looking for fish." He said evenly, giving the other male a calm look. Solitaire knew the game well enough, and while he wasn't going to instigate it, he was not a part of a pack and not bound to such things. Another scent hit his nose, and he curved an ear in the direction from which the scent had come. Female, but that didn't distract Solitaire from what was going on here and now. There was every possiblity that this was an ambush, but if it was, Solitaire was not going easy; he had been there before, knew what all of that was like, and he would rather go down fighting than be dragged into a mess like that. Of course he was mentally over-reacting, but life was not often gentle, and he had already paid his dues in the type of situation playing out in his mind.

Although he would have liked to pick and prod at the brute in front of him the scent of a lady changed his course of action. Instead his posture relaxed immensely, he would be no threat to the brute..for now. Although he had relaxed he was not to be underestimated however for his actions could change within a second. There's plenty of water, but I was looking for fish. He arched an invisible eye brow at the brute before glancing behind him. Clearly he was not in the right area to be fishing in the first place. The fish were further down and you actually had to get close to the water in order to catch one. He turned then, his apple green orbs focusing on the small dark female. She was very petite and timid almost. It made him even more curious. Come.. Why don't we invite her to our party? He proposed, his eyes locking with those of the brutes as if to dare him to deny his suggestion. The more the merrier..right? A sly smile curved his lips before he turned then, his paws leading him further down the bank and closer to the petite female. Yes he had his back turned on the strange male but was he worried? No. He could careless if he had his back turned because it obviously wouldn't be a smart move for the male to attack him, especially in front of a lady. Finally when he was within ear shot of the femme he spoke, his deep baritones loud enough for her to hear him easily. Do you intend to stay over there or would you like to join our party? Evander had never been a rude male when it came to the females and he certainly didn't want her to feel slighted or unnoticed.

He sat on his haunches then, the sun seeming to bounce off of the many different colors in his fur. His eyes turned down to the water then, searching for the scaly creatures that would provide them with a meal. He didn't see any at first but when he looked closer he could catch glimpses of the different colored creatures darting beneath the surface of the water. Perhaps we should come to you as you seem to be in the best position for fishing. He spoke to both the female and male. With that he stood and made his way closer. His long limbs allowed him to take up the ground quickly and without hesitation he leaped from the bank to one of the rocks. The surface was quite slippery and at first he almost lost his traction. He lowered himself slightly to better balance himself. His eyes met those of the females and he flashed a smile in her direction, Just don't bite me darlin. He didn't move closer just yet and glanced down at the water instead. This still wasn't far enough out, he would have to move closer, and share the rock that that very female sat upon. Have enough room for two more over there? He asked while waiting on his boulder for the male to catch up and for the female to let them know if it was even okay for them to sit there with her. She seemed like the shy type but Evander still expected her to be able to speak. Plus who would turn up the opportunity of a free meal?

[Skye]

Listening was the easy part, for she didn't have to do much but lay there and listen. It was responding that was going to be hard. This creature wasn't much of a talker, only talking when spoken to. That's how she was raised in every pack she grew up in. Even as she watched the males.

As one, a more multicolored, large brute approached from the other side, she shifted slightly to keep her yellow orbs on him. Though the rocks under her hurt, she didn't show it as she nearly rolled onto her side to keep an eye on him. This brute seemed to be more interested in her than the other, and that brought fear to her veins. She never had much luck with males, but there was only one way that she would overcome the fear that refused to ease up in her system. That was to face them.

"How about I just give you this spot?" Standing slightly, she moved away from her spot before pausing to look back at the water. Something about the fish today made her mouth water for sure. Yea, she had been stopping along the way to take a few drinks along the way, though it only made hunger gnaw at her even more. Looking back up at the brute, she offered a small smile as she slunk along the river a little ways more, the fish further from the shores as they tried to swim in the deeper part of the waters.

She should be fishing for herself while she still can, but she just couldn't bring herself to it. Not while the brutes were here and she had the chance of losing her meal. Finding a spot not so rocky, she perched herself onto a rock, her head low and her tail curled around slightly. Her eyes may have been on the water, but her attention was still on the larger brute that had approached first.

[Natasha]

Natasha was heading back to Aleru, her pack's lands, from her meeting with the pack's beta in I'queyer. There was, however, a bit of a desire to go explore again. Perhaps, if she was lucky, there would be a lone wolf or two that she could invite to join the pack. Severus would like that, wouldn't he? It wasn't that she was particularly interested in the male alpha, but she desired his approval in everything that she did, though she would never admit it to anyone. To everyone else, she would seem like the kind of wolf that didn't need approval from anyone else, especially not a male. But he was her alpha, and she did not want to disappoint him. And so, as she reached the curve in the lands where she should have gone straight north, she followed the curve to head west, through the lands of Aveline where the new Ananke pack was residing. She hadn't met any of them, so she was sure to stay on the very edge of the lands, running in the sea half the time to avoid looking like an intruder in their lands. It was the only way to get to the Ocassus, another land claimed by no one.

It was some time before she found herself at the Aughgar River, the dividing mark between Aveline and the Ocassus. Natasha knew she had to get across before any of Ananke's members saw her, and so she skillfully leaped across some large rocks in the river, slipping only once before she safely landed on the other side. At last, she relaxed and shook off her damp pelt, not liking that she had to go through water during the coldest time of year, but she knew that she would get over it. Standing, the female gave a big stretch before picking up a steady pace up the river. Hopping up onto rocks and down onto others, she found that she was enjoying herself more than actually looking for what she had come to look for. It wasn't long, however, before she heard the low chatter of distant voices. Pausing for a moment, the female listened, picking out at least one male and one female voice, though she wasn't entirely sure on that. Ears perked atop the pretty female's head, she proceeded forward. Rounding a small bend, Natasha laid eyes on the other wolves, and she stopped for a moment to watch them and make sure they were not hostile... Though she was pretty sure she could put up a good fight if they were... Might actually be a little fun.

It was only a moment later, and she was trotting forward again, dipping out of sight for a moment as she jumped down behind some larger rocks to follow the path along the bank of the river. As she came out from behind the larger rock, she saw that she was only a few yards from the female whose back was turned to her. The young female slowed her pace to a walk and made sure to make some noise so as not to startle the other female who seemed to be a little shy by the way she was acting. Though, if she was afraid of these males or shy, Natasha gave her credit for sticking her ground and not letting the males run her off, even if that wasn't what they were trying to do. Natasha, on the other hand, was not shy at all, and she would openly welcome any attention from a male. It was time, now, though, to decide if she wanted to play the innocent card and just look cute or if she would rather have fun teasing the males, perhaps even teaching the other female how to not let the rugged loner males frighten her. Stopping a little ways away from the other female, Natasha sat and curled her tail around her, looking slightly arrogant and not at all afraid.

"Well now, it seems we have a party going on here," she said, eyeing the water as a fish jumped slightly above the surface, "Are we fishing or just talking? Because I could really use a meal." After traveling across a pack's entire land, it was natural for Natasha to be at least a little hungry... And thirsty. She didn't remember ever stopping for a drink, and the thirst was starting to catch up to her. She would have to remember to drink a little before going back home.
