With another smile, Hannibal nodded to the female, pleased with her words. She was ready, and the male would linger no longer in case she changed her mind. "It was a pleasure to meet you, Ladonna. Best wishes with Arche, and I expect I will see you again soon," he said kindly, swishing his tail gently back and forth a few times as he spoke. She was quite the wolf, odd but polite, and he had truly enjoyed his time with her. Even though she was not a part of his pack yet, his joining Arche, Calantha and the others had done wonders for him and his social situations, and he was all the more glad for it.
Before he began to walk away, Graham stepped out from beside Hanni and peered silently at Ladonna, his head tilted curiously to the side. He understood that she preferred to meet Arche alone, but the small dog seemed somehow concerned for her, his big brown eyes focused on Ladonna's dull yellow ones. It was an intense sort of look, unlike the small creature, and Hannibal frowned and opened his mouth as though to reprimand Graham.
Before he could speak, the african wild dog stepped boldly up to Ladonna and, without hesitation, pushed his shoulder into hers--difficult, due to the height difference--and rubbed along one of her sides, then the other, as though he were a cat. The motion finished, he settled himself back against Hannibal's side and stared at her again, though his mouth hung open and his tongue lolled out, a grin of sorts upon his thick muzzle. Hannibal laughed out loud, then, the smile returning easily to his face. "I do believe Graham is trying to help you out somehow," he chuckled, shaking his head. "Perhaps he rubbed some luck on you."
With that, he turned and began to walk across the invisible border, his heavy feet hitting the ground silently as he returned to his new home. Glancing over his shoulder above Graham's tiny form, he smiled again at Ladonna. "If I see Arche on the way in, I will direct him here. But if you call, he will come," he said before turning back, leaving the female where she was and hoping she would find her home, if not with Airila, somewhere just as welcoming. She certainly deserved it, in his eyes.
