Mindlessly he wandered into the ruins of the humans. Judas couldn’t give much thought to it. He knew not of what humans were or that they even existed. If the day ever came that he’d lay eyes on them, he’d hardly be phased. The structures that still stood to surpass the test of time were just tall stone rocks to him. This place was no eye-opener for the wolf though it might be to someone unlike him. What brought the male here was pure instinct. Winter time not only covered the island in ice and snow but also stripped Judas of whatever sense he had left in his mind. His hormones flared like a teenage boy in high school, but that strange desire to be with other wolves came back to him as it did last year. Though he’d love to spend some “quality” time with a female, it seemed as though any wolf company would suffice.
Empty-headed and quite narrow-minded, Judas could never recognize this wanting as the natural longing any lone wolf seemed to inhabit. He was in search of a pack. What brought him here to the land of the Descai is beyond him. He didn’t even have the foggiest idea of what wolves he would encounter here. In fact, he knew absolutely nothing about any of the packs here in Anikira. Judas didn’t know what it took to get into a pack or what packs did together. As mentioned before, it was instinct, and instinct alone, that drove him into this territory.
Old, dead leaves blanketed the ash covered land. He hopped through a crumbling doorway and sniffed about the ruined building. A small bird chirped in a window frame and took to the wind as soon as Judas spied it. His tongue lolled out of his mouth and he lunged after the feathered animal like a dog attempting to fetch a frisbee. Of course, that frisbee never came back down to the ground. Judas stared out the window, half of his body inside the building and the other half still hanging out of the frame, looking around in the sky for the bird. He wondered where it went, and he whimpered.
