Changes have become too severe in Anikira, and the wolves have been temporarily relocated to the Anikiran Southern Isles. Things have grown dire and unlivable on the mainland; it was time for outside intervention. Please be sure to review the full update on the staff board for more information!
The current season is fall in the Southern Isles. Due to their proximity to the equator, the region is still warm. There is currently no breeding and no birthing amongst the wolves
On this particular eve, the breeze that ran its fingers through her matted pale locks was fiercefully chilled. Winter had truly taken course within the past couple of days, enough to make one feel as though their blood had frozen within their veins... Although she was icy enough without such a thing. Her heart and become frozen long, long ago. No longer able to feel the emotions that the other mortals had. Love, care, fear, it had all been washed away. Leaving behind nothing but a mal-nourished, matted empty shell.
She wasn't always like this though. She once knew these feelings. She once longed to feel the warmth of another, to feel the body heat of two living entities dancing together, entwining, becoming one. She once cared about those close to her, she even cared occasionally for others that she barely knew. She feared being left alone in the world, with no one to turn to.... All of this was gone, stripped away from her as her sanity slowly left..
She wasn't entirely alone though, no... She still had her. Although it was not a being that could be seen by another... It was merely a voice that embedded itself with her skull. She dictated Fetisha's every move... She was a prisoner within her own body. A puppet controlled by strings. For ever damned to live in her own personal hell. Have you ever felt as though you could not control your own body? You were nothing more then a spectator? Hell doesn't even begin to describe it.
The sun had long tucked itself in for the night. The gray clouds littered the blackened sky, covering the full moon above. Leaving a low light to be cast upon the winter wonderland rather scarcely. Snow flakes flurried down lightly upon the white lands, thickening the blanket that cover the ground where lush green blades were once visible. Life here seemed dead.. Nothing could be seen for miles and miles. A perfect place for one as bitter as she.
Her body moved with the delicate grace of a preying feline. Each step taken carefully with such caution to avoid plummeting over the edge of the mountains trail. Her body twist and turned to keep her balance. Thick white banner were slightly sway behind her as it helped with the balancing at task. Miss matched orbs would land upon what seemed to be a mouth of a cave. Just large enough to fit her own species. That single tower that adorned her crown would shift forward. Inhaling the cold air briskly through sand paper nostrils. She could smell nothing, no lingering scents or markers to indicate that this particular cave had been claimed by another. And so slowly she would move, entering what seemed to be a safe haven for the night, before the snow fall outside would turn into an unforgiving blizzard. Only time would tell if she truly was alone within this large belly that rested within the mountains side.
The large form of an Arctic Wolf female curled into a tighter ball as the wind howled its fury outside of her temporary den; burying her coal black nose under her bushy white tail to keep it warm. The earthquake had caught Valkea off guard as this frozen desert came into contact with the continent of Anikira. But, she was curious little thing, and she wanted to see what the catalyst for this earth shattering quake was. It had turned out that this massive hunk of ice, snow, and rock was the thing that had sent the prey creatures and other wolves running for cover. The rather large female had boldly crossed over to this iced over chunk of land from mainland Anikira. When her pads first struck the snow, a dull, numbing pain shot up each of her pillars. Wile it was indeed in the middle of winter, there was not much snow to be seen on Anikira... at least, by the stocky female wolf anyway. She had not been there five minutes when a storm system of sorts blew in seemingly out of nowhere. Snow flakes had quickly covered the Arctic Wolf's back and crown with a dusting of fine, white, cold powder. As the calm, chilly breeze began to turn into a fierce, cold wind, the ivory cloaked goddess was forced to narrow her burnt umber orbs as the merciless wind assaulted her face and hurled snow flakes into her eyes. As if out of sheer luck, the blurry form of a mountain range caught the cold wolf's immediate attention. Valkea's stride increased and her pace quickened. there had to be some caves there.... or at least a rocky overhang or two that would shelter her from the brewing storm. After scaling a perilously steep mountain trail and a painfully slow search, Valkea found what she was looking for. The cave was a bit on the uncomfortable side for her taste, but hey. Shelter was shelter, right? The snow dusted female descended into the cave until she was deep enough within it to be sheltered from the unforgiving cold weather outside. Feeling satisfied, the girl circled a few times before she settled down for the night. She had not been asleep long when the faint odor of a seemingly unkept wolf entered her den. Valkea's lids slowly parted to reveal blazing honey eyes. Letting out a low growl, the wolfess rose to her full height and ventured towards the cave's mouth. Who dared to interrupt her beauty sleep? She got her answer soon enough. Her beams landed upon the rather pathetic figure of a female Arctic Wolf, such as herself. Her unkept fur made Valk's lip twitch. The larger female just stared at the older wolf in a creepy, scheming sort of way. Sleep can wait. Time to have some fun! Finally, the Pyromaniac let an annoyed snarl slip thought her bared teeth; clearly broadcasting her displeasure with this creature. "You poor, helpless, little whelp." Valk said with fake sympathy as she got closer to the other wolfess. "It's such a shame to see a purebred wolf in such a sorry state as yourself." The other female had some years on Val, that she knew, but she wanted to the other girl to feel inferior or at least irked at the fact that she was being called a pup by a more youthful, beautiful wolf. Amber windows danced over the other's neglected frame before they came to rest on the outline of a single ear atop the other femme's dome. "Looks like someone's short of an ear, hm?" Valkea made a clicking noise with her tongue as she sat her rump on the cold stone floor beneath her paws, making it clear that she had no intention of leaving. "Perfect blood, but an imperfect appearance. So sad, so sad indeed." The wolfess went silent before another harsh snarl tore free from her vocal chords. "Hate to break it to you, but I was here first, dearie." Valk paused. "And I don't like sharing. I suggest you get your pathetic self out of here before I tear that other ear of yours right off of your little head." Valkea was goading this girl into a fight that she knew that she would win. Easily, in her expert opinion.

The weather had grown dangerously harsh outside. Which made her even more pleased to find what she would assume was a vacant den. Scents off all kinds lingered upon the rocky walls that seemed to trail for quite some time. Some old, some newer but then again souls came and gone, did they not? Weary travelers would make but a temporary home before vanishing on their journey once more. And so she assumed that all scents were old, and nothing to be to worried about. Then again, worrying wasn't really her thing. She lived daily in a hell that she was forever trapped in. When one lives a life of such misery, they did not fear death nor worry. In fact, in most cases they welcomed it.
It was the sound of foot falls that captured her attention in the darkened distance, eyes still not adjusted to the drastic change. Lids would lower half way as she strained to see down the dark hall. Yet nothing came to view for what was only seconds, although they felt like the longest seconds ever. Finally the bulky silhouette became apparent. Single ear would flatten against her dainty skull as she watched the creature approach. Physically appearance still not visible within the shadows. It was then the harpy's sing song voice broke through the silence. Dancing into her drums, although the falseness of the unknown woman's voice would force her to cringe in dissatisfaction. Yet no words were spoken, no instead Fetisha just listened, and watched intently. Miss matched orbs watched the ivory harpy as she planted her ass upon the dusty ground. Optics would lick over the womans bulky frame. Taking in the ivory silken strands that adorned her body. Once the unknown gal finished her little dioulage, lips would peel back to offer her a rather toothy and twisted grin. Petite paws would carry her closer to the ivory wench, Fetisha was not one to back down, then again she was a woman of little words.
Her spine would arch ever so slightly as she stepped with the grace of a feline. Body would twist the right as she moved in a fluent motion around the right of the woman, stepping ever so lightly. Yet keeping a respectful distance. "Such a sharp tongue for a pretty little wench. " A cackling laugh would cause her lips to part and her small frame to rattle annoyingly. "Beauty only lasts for so long, dear girl. Soon your body will begin to deteriorate. Leaving nothing but a empty shell behind. Would be such a pity if it were marred so early in life." A twisted grin once more would cause her lips to curl. Tail would flick behind her bony rump as she continued to walk right past the girl, as if blatantly ignoring her words. Which of course, she was doing. Fetisha never was one to be intimidated. As she continued to move down the path, her body would sway, twisting to look behind her to the sitting woman. "Truly you can't be foolish enough to believe your empty threats could per-sway me to leave, do you love?" It were almost as if she beckoning the girl to follow her. To put her in her place. As Fetisha's body continued to move away she continued to listen behind her, waiting to hear the foot falls of the other harpy.
"Such a sharp tongue for a pretty little wench. " The pitiful tangle of matted fur replied. Air escaped Valkea’s lungs in the form of a brief laugh as she closed her eyes and turned her head to the right. “That’s the nicest compliment I’ve gotten in a long time.” The huntress responded in a tone that would suggest sarcasm or lack of caring. The mass of knotted fur kept on talking, this time going on a spiel about of beauty degrades over time and blah blah blah. "Beauty only lasts for so long, dear girl. Soon your body will begin to deteriorate. Leaving nothing but a empty shell behind. Would be such a pity if it were marred so early in life." The young female Arctic Wolf’s eyes opened slowly, revealing liquid gold pools that shined. “That sure does sound like a challenge to me, mortal. Please, do correct me if I’m mistaken.” Valkea responded in an almost gleeful tone of voice. “It would be a shame indeed.” the vain female responded, “If you, old hag, left this cave looking like one of the seals that I’ve seen around these lands. Maybe if you dragged yourself over to them and started barking, they just might have to accept you as one of their own. Let me know how sea creatures taste!” Her unique beams followed the miserable looking purebred as she journeyed deeper into the mountain. “Scars either show how brave, violent, or just plain stupid a wolf is. In my case, my scars will broadcast my violent tendencies; which I’m quite proud of. For you, it will broadcast that you were stupid and cocky enough to challenge a youthful, beautiful goddess.” The woman paused for a dramatic effect. “And lost.” A snarl was laced in with those last two words. "Truly you can't be foolish enough to believe your empty threats could per-sway me to leave, do you love?" The goddess closed her eyes and tossed her head back in a dismissive laugh. “Nah, consider what you have called my ‘empty threats’ as warnings.” Valkea opened her eyes, rose to all four paws, and followed after this thing that called itself a wolf. “Warnings of the hell that I will make you suffer through if you don’t get your decomposing self out of my cave. That is, if I decide to let you continue your miserable life after I win.” Valk’s tail curled over her back and her neck arched. A demonic snarl bounced off the stone surfaces of the cave. She was going to enjoy whatever was to follow.

This untraditional coupling is one of the truly loving matches in Anikira. Although they are members of two different species, Calantha and Rikez have overcome the differences and rose above, finding love in the most pure of ways. And from this pairing, a litter born of two loving parents was conceived. These little boys and girls will have the great honor of being raised by two parents that support each other, while many of the offspring in Anikira have not had such a benefit. The pair are truly fitting of one another; both kind-hearted and generally good individuals.
