The damsel found herself in this deafening place, nothing but scorching sand and railed winds that bit at her skin, forcing her to almost crawl to keep the grains from hitting her. The lass' ears lowered flat against her cranium, and her eyes nearly shut, avoiding the blasting gust that was being carried along this desert. Her mind was brimming with different wonders. How did I get here? Why is the wind so bad? She brought her pace up and began almost trotting across the open area. Gathered dried plants collided in a ball of sorts and were tossed about in front of the fae.
Soon the wind calmed the father she got from the dunes and her body eased from the tension she had held throughout the period. Breathing out an audible sigh of relief, the dame collapsed next to a vigorous looking cacti. Carefully not to touch the spikes held within the plant, she took shade in the little area she found. The wind still rand out in the distance but, it was much calmer here than it was out there. Her panting slowed and she began to groom the sand embedded between her toes, it scratched and dug its way into her pads and made every step feel like she was walking on the sun. Living in a place like this all my life, you'd think I'd be use to it. But something about this sand was different. It had a taint smell of smoke to it, and it's taste on her tongue as she cleaned it off made her face screw up with distaste. She noticed the earth around her now, it was it's normal orange hued color, it was ashy and grey looking. Ashes? But why... Would there be ashes? Twist looked around and her lightly tinted grey eyes landed on a far of mountain... It was a dome shaped and it held a smokey look around the top of it. A volcano? The she-wolf didn't question the placing of the Earth's mountains. She simply got up and walked on.
The sites around her seemed the same as her land back home. Her memory was still foggy on how she got here, or where she even was. She knew she had ran from the humans, but she had forgotten exactly how she'd ended up on this island. She just remembers her running and then everything kinda just faded from there. But the memories of leaving her pack were constant in her mind.
The warning howl, the pounding of what sounds like thousands of hungry wolves running into their land, the snarls, the whimpers, the shredding of skin, the yelps of the wounded, the battle cries of the strong ones...
The silence of the dead.
The wails of the mourning.
The fibers on the damsel's neck rose in fear and her breath began to come in ragged intakes. Her heart pounded in her chest and she could swear at that moment it was falling into the sand below her and crashes into a thousand pieces. But she looks below her and only saw her two moving feet. Breath. You're alright. She inhaled and she felt her body release the constriction on her muscles. She continued thinking of her past as she explored the land around her.
After the terror, her father, and a few close pack mates and herself left... The headed of the East of the borders and traveled for two sunrises until the stench of their families death wore from them, and the adrenaline of the fight fled from their blood. It was just seven moon rises after that, Twist had awoken to the sound of a howl of agony. She ran to find her father being mauled alive by wild cats... And image that burned in her mind night after night. She remembered the ripping sound, and the cats seemed to be laughing at his whimpers as they tore his organs out as he lie there breathing. They had fleeted when she arrived, leaving her to walk up to him and watch his last breath and heartbeat... The pup had thrown up there at the scene and then retreated back to the small traveling group.
Where is your father, Twist?
Did you find him? Twist? Are you okay? Can you lead us, dear?
The repeated question of her pack members, that she simply couldn't answer. Her father's image slipped in and out of her mind and her mother, and the rest of her family and friends that she had witnessed falling or being slain... It was too much for the juvenile. So being the age of two by this time, she left and ran far from her memories, hoping they'd stay in the hell she was leaving.
But turns out hell was waiting around every turn for the she-wolf.
After making her choice to leave, she found a territory that fit her standards pretty well. She moved in and soon met the love of her life... She shook her head and laughed, it wasn't a humorous laugh. It was a laugh of the distressed. "What a fucking lie." She seethed, the damsel had found a oasis. She was more than happy about it, but her clouded thoughts glazed her expression and if anyone was to see her at the moment, she would probably looked crazed.
She padded lightly to the shoreline and lapped up the crystal water, it was tainted with a semi-salty taste and she greeted it was a slapping of her tongue, causing ripples throughout it's stillness to the other side of the pool. Finding shade underneath a large shrub, she gathered herself and continued her thoughts. It was better now to keep thinking it over than to do it if she was to meet up into a pack of sorts.
Falcon. Oh Falcon. He was the handsomest thing the lass' had laid her vision on. It wasn't long before the two fell into a love of sorts, and they confessed there love and soon she was impregnated. But as her life was seemed to be doom, she fell ill... Throwing up bile, and with constant fever... She was left with no choice but her mate to go out and find a medic somewhere... He suggested his own, from his family pack... Being in the pain she was, she agreed and he left. It wasn't long after his departure that she awoke in the night with blood surrounding her..
Twist cringed at remembering the pain... It honestly hadn't been that long ago... Almost two years now, but it haunted her. Like a growing black hole in the pit of her stomach. Her claws dug into the ground as she forced herself to continue the memory.
The pain ripped through her body as the feeble beings came into the world. (Ooc: Sorry if this is to graphic for the rules, but I'm just trying to lightly hint at the 'birth' cause it is something my character experienced. But this is as far as I will go.. If i need to change it.. Please don't hesitate to let me know.)
Dead. They were born dead. Still born. However you'd want to view. Born to early. Twist had buried them in the rain, then spent the rest of the moon after that still suffering from sickness. She wasn't sick like before, but it was a new sickness... Nothing satisfied her. Food was just something she forced herself to eat, water was just a liquid that sustained the irritating feeling that clung to her throat if she didn't. Her mate hadn't returned yet, and she grew worried about that, only to find out from a passing rouge that he'd died by being attacked by a pack back up East... Clearly the pack that had taken over her old land...
She left... There wasn't any reason to stay... So she left, but only to be captured by a following group of humans.. They took her and after that it was a blur.. Twist opened her eyes, and was shocked to realize she had fallen asleep. The sun was lowering in the sky, and the cool breeze of the night was settling in and Twist accepted it's comforting feeling. She stood and stretched out her tawny limbs and shook herself clean of the dust that had inhabited her fur. She walked to the water and stepped in, cooling herself of the sweat that had taken over her skin. She let the exhilarating feel of the ice cold water seep into her and calm her nerves, before continuing on to wherever this new journey would lead her.
What a life so far. She thought.
