Changes have become too severe in Anikira, and the wolves have been temporarily relocated to the Anikiran Southern Isles. Things have grown dire and unlivable on the mainland; it was time for outside intervention. Please be sure to review the full update on the staff board for more information!
The current season is fall in the Southern Isles. Due to their proximity to the equator, the region is still warm. There is currently no breeding and no birthing amongst the wolves
Savara bounced and leaped was she made her way across the frozen expanse. Snow! Real live snow! She hadn't seen any of the cold white stuff since she left Russia! Now, this was her element and the fact that it was dark out made this new land feel more and more like Russia. Like home. Yipping happily, the undersized MacKenzie Valley Wolf female shoved her muzzle into the cold powder and tossed her head back; causing the fallen snow to form an arc in the bright blue, cloudless sky over her head. The disturbed snow then resettled; clinging to the fur on little foreign female's head and on the back of her neck. Instead of shaking it off, Vara let it just sit there. She was happy to feel the familiar, icy sting of the snow as it melted from her body heat and seeped into her fur. That being said, Savara flopped over and rolled around in the powdery, cold substance. Yes, she was acting like a pup. Yes, an onlooker might even mistake her for one due to her size. But, did the three year old Russian female care about what others thought of her? The answer to that question was simple. No, she didn't care. Well, actually she sort of did. Sav had yet to meet any wolves that she could possibly form a tight, strong bond with. And the ones that she had conversed with briefly probably thought that she behaved in an odd manner or that she made them uncomfortable with her lack of social skills. Finally, her pup like energy was depleted and the Russian princess stopped thrashing about and rolled over onto her back and drew her front legs close to her petite form. A pale pink tongue flopped loosely to the side and her gum metal grey eyes shone with pure joy. Due to the snow and the fact that she was lost in her own little world, Savara failed to notice if anyone was approaching her.

The snow was glorious to the masked wolf, and a semi-permanent smile was plastered to his face as he tromped through it, more spring in his step than usual. In stark contrast behind him was his African companion, scowling as he carefully maneuvered his tall legs through the powdery substance, irritated and cold. When Hannibal got too far ahead, the dog yipped loudly at him and the wolf stopped, throwing his head back over his shoulder and grinning widely at his companion. "Come now, Graham, it's not so bad! You'll get used to the cold in no time!" he called, laughing softly as he waited for the canine to catch up.
The two then walked side-by-side, as was their custom, though Graham kept himself tight against the larger wolf's side to suck as much heat out of the contact as he could. It was rough up here for the poor creature, but he would not leave the side of his friend for anything, and so he dealt with it. Hannibal had been scouting the northern reaches of the new part of Airila territory for a few days, and was nearing the end of his exploration at last. However, before he could turn back for home, his bright yellow eyes spotted a small creature in the snow, laying happily as though it belonged there.
Closer inspection revealed it to be a wolf, tawny-coated and not much smaller than he was, likely another member of the pack that he had not yet met. With a gentle alert bark, he hoped she would take notice of his approaching form before his stout build and serious face frightened her, for she seemed to be paying little attention to her surroundings. As was his custom, the male stopped a few feet from her, giving the female enough space to feel comfortable but also converse without shouting. Graham hovered at his side, his own big brown eyes fixed on the stranger as well.
"Greetings," he called, his deep voice rumbling and smooth despite his oft-times awkward way of interacting with others. A small smile graced his lips as he dipped his head gently, having grown accustomed to greeting others this way. "I am Hannibal, and this is Graham. We were exploring the new territory, as I would imagine you were. Are you a part of Airila?"

In an effort to provide the least restrictve roleplaying environment available, Anikira and their staff are looking to move to the Proboards paid forums. This forum would allow unlimited writing freedom to members, as well as an ad-free environment and our ability to customize the forum and its ratings/content however we choose! In order to do so, we will require your help! There is a monthly cost associated with this service, and any and all donations toward this goal are appreciated. Please use the PayPal link below for all donations for Anikira maintenance and moving costs. We look forward to a roleplaying environment where the sky is the limit!
Please note the donation page is listed under Uru's name as it cannot be listed otherwise without a business account. All funds associated with this PayPal account will be used directly for the maintenance and costs of Anikira, and hopefully soon anikira.com as our roleplaying forum.
This untraditional coupling is one of the truly loving matches in Anikira. Although they are members of two different species, Calantha and Rikez have overcome the differences and rose above, finding love in the most pure of ways. And from this pairing, a litter born of two loving parents was conceived. These little boys and girls will have the great honor of being raised by two parents that support each other, while many of the offspring in Anikira have not had such a benefit. The pair are truly fitting of one another; both kind-hearted and generally good individuals.
