History:Frayne is descended from a long line of captive wolves. In Aurae Canine Sanctuary, there were two packs reigning over the faux-wild. One was a group of giants, valuing strength and courage, whilst another was a group of lithe, flighty dwarfs who agreed that flight was better than fight, leaving less harmed.
This brute's story starts when Deus, the alpha of the bulkier pack, took L'ange, the swift alphess of the smaller group in a night of wild passion and lust. The pair came together just that one time, never seeing each other again and completely forgetting of the one night that they were bonded.
To the humans' delight, it was revealed that there was to be a litter after many failed breeding seasons before. L'ange's litter was deeply anticipated by the strange creatures, and they could not wait to see what would result from two polar opposites merging their bloodlines. They did strange tests on Frayne's mother, seeming to predict the future.
And predict the future they did, for, on one chilly autumn dawn, the humans happened upon L'ange giving birth. There were four pups, one stillborn, one severely ill, and two were perfect and healthy. The ill pup and the dead pup were taken away at birth, leaving the eldest pup, a male, with the name 'Frayne', meaning 'stranger', for he was the first of his kind and his bloodline was unique, strange. The other healthy pup was the youngest of the litter, a female, and she was named Addiena, meaning 'beautiful' for her pretty pelt and build. Frayne never saw of his middle siblings again.
L'ange raised her two pups the best of her ability, trying to please them and teach them the ways of the pack. It worked for Addiena, the smaller, faster wolf, but Frayne kept running off to the humans.
The humans would play games with Frayne, games which were far more enjoyable than his mother's lectures. They would use strange rubbery balls and lumpy sticks and various other curious contraptions. Frayne was treated like a friend to the humans and was raised primarily by this alien species for his first year of life.
Shortly after Frayne's first birthday, Aurae Canine Sanctuary was clogged with the heavy scent of something, something that the male had never encountered before. Following his instinct, Frayne detected that there was something wrong, and led his pack over to the humans, seeking their help. To his horror, he found a bright, burning inferno that had swallowed up his beloved humans whole. The flickering entity seemed to spread, and he seemed to hear whispers of words unknown such as 'fire' and 'smoke' from his packmates. Determined to lead his family to safety, he sacrificed the rest of the pack's safety for L'ange's and Addiena's, leaving his non-relatives to the flames.
During his escape, he discovered a male by the name of Deus who was by himself and wanted to help Frayne to leave Aurae, despite their warring families. The two found a gap in the wire fence, burned away and destroyed by the fire. They left through there and tried to live in the wild.
Finding his views aligning with Deus more than L'ange, Frayne parted ways with his natal family and followed the opposing pack's alpha, the two becoming fast friends and an unstoppable duo.
Out of the two of them, Deus was the eldest, meaning that he taught a lot of things to Frayne. First of all, Deus preached his religion. He taught Frayne of the almighty God and how those who obeyed him would go to Heaven, whilst rebels went to Hell. Trusting his closest friend next to the humans, Frayne started to believe in God and Heaven and Hell. Deus taught Frayne the best hunting techniques and how to fight properly without fleeing like a coward. Frayne respected Deus deeply and considered him as a father figure, almost a friend, although Deus felt like more than that.
The two lived together for a few months before Frayne spotted them. The humans. This time, they were different humans, but humans all the same. Frayne sneaked away from Deus whilst his companion was asleep, and the humans were shocked at the wolf's affinity to them. They befriended each other just as Frayne had befriended the humans before them and the different species took him in as a companion.
It was there that Frayne spent the rest of his second year. It was peaceful and laidback, which the male enjoyed greatly.
Then, Frayne was taken away on a flying monster. His humans were there, too, though, so he just relaxed in the dark with other strange caged creatures. The journey seemed to be going perfectly when he smelled it again. Smoke. It was not long before flames engulfed the airborne machine and separated Frayne from his human family yet again.
The large, white, bird-like object was soaring over the ocean when it crashed, sending Frayne tumbling into the turbulent waters below. He thrashed and swam desperately, looking for help, looking for someone, but there was nothing as black took over his vision.
When the male awoke, he found himself on an island that he would grow to know as Anikira. He relearnt how to hunt, despising the island for lacking the humans that Frayne had become one with. Frayne was convinced that this was the Hell that Deus had spoken of, but Frayne had done nothing wrong. He was innocent!
In his anger, Frayne forcefully took a femme in heat a few months after his arrival, but she did not get pregnant. He tried again once it became apparent, and again, and again. Furious that she would not carry his children, the male advanced to another female, taking her forcefully too. Eventually, once the breeding season finished, Frayne discovered that the fault was in himself. He could not reproduce.
Filled with even more angst than before, the male became testy and would become aggravated easily. He got himself into a fight with a female that he tried to mount in order to vent his frustration; the female, feisty and strong, fought back and clawed Frayne to the point where he was blind. Frayne fled and tended to his wounds, healing all but his eyes which were now permanently blind.
He hated Anikira.
Personality:Raised as an outcast among his family and pack, Frayne has always been tough. Ever since his natal pack discovered his large, unsightly build, he has been indifferent of stares and disgusted looks.
Despite not being able to show it, Frayne is a natural leader. He likes to be in control and is uncomfortable when he does not have the situation handled by him. Although L'ange shielded her children from Deus' pack, Frayne's views aligned with him anyway; from a young age, the male had wanted to seize control of his cowardly pack and correct their opinions, teaching the bastards how to fight. Although it has always been just a dream, Frayne has wanted to be an alpha since he could remember and just teach some sense into the idiots that he felt surrounded by for his early life. If he is given a submissive rank or role in a group then he will do whatever he can to gain control because he does not trust others, especially natives to Anikira, to lead him.
If he loves you then Frayne will easily trust you. Even the most ludicrous of things would be taken seriously by the piebald male if he considered you close to him, which is why he blindly agreed to Deus' religion without any further thought. He has never been betrayed by a loved one and never expects to be. That is the naïve side to him.
As well as that, the male hates Anikira; he thinks that it is truly where Hell lies and that he is cursed for being sent there. He loves humans and their company, which just fuels his hatred for the island where he lives even more due to the absence of humans on its shores.
Towards foreigners, Frayne believes in a fair system; you give what you take. If another insults the piebald male, he will throw an insult back. Those who treat him with respect will be respected back. Should one attempt to strike up a friendly conversation with Frayne, he will respond with charismatic chatter. However, towards those who were born on Anikira's cursed shores, he will immediately judge them and treat them scornfully, seeing himself superior to them.
Frayne is not an evil wolf, despite his prejudice. He does what he thinks is right and treats those who he deems sentient with respect and kindness, just as he would expect to be shown towards himself. Although his actions may seem unjust, he believes that he is doing what is morally sound and is obeying what a higher deity tells him.
