Roughly two years ago, a frail young wolf by the name of Anita, who'd been abandoned herself, was pregnant and weak; wandering North through the land of Caurus. Her history is unknown, as she never shared her previous life with her pups. Finding shelter in the hollowed base of a tree in late August, the she-wolf stayed in the unclaimed terra for the remainder of her pregnancy. At the end of the season, the malnourished wolf birthed four pups - one still-born, and three whom all survived miraculously.
During the first month of life, the first born pup by the name of Dallik, held the most energy of the litter. Naturally he held the dominant role of the three, often getting access to food before the other two. Always making small noises, attempting to howl or on the move around the den, the little ebony pup was thriving. Unfortunately from a young age, his youngest sibling, the runt, had a different fate. Astra passed away in her sleep due to malnutrition; only two weeks after birth.
Not understanding the concept of death at such a young age, Dallik continued to thrive despite his weakening mother. Both Dallik and his sister Kitna seemed to be healthy, yet exhausted, from the tiresome life of a loner.
Growing up, Dallik was often picked on by his sister Kitna forbeing facsinated by the details of life; he'd often spent time as a pup watching bugs and digging holes in the ground to find them. From Dallik's own perspective, all of life was an adventure with countless stories to be heard.
After eight happy weeks at their first denning site, Dallik's mother abruptly lead the pups away. The reality that the small family was desperate for food became clear. His mother led them long distances for their age, searching endlessly for any carcass or source of food. The journey took its tole on the three wolves; Dallik's mother grew weaker, and his sister also became sick during the journey.
At the age of four months, Dallik's littermate collapsed as they were making their way towards Tiayr in hopes of a better life. His sister was unable to walk anymore, exhausted from trying to keep up - something Dallik hadn't struggled with quiet as much; as he was still the healthiest pup. His mother continued walking without her; giving a slight huff to her remaining pup. Confused by his mothers reaction, Dallik had stood between his helpless sister and determined mother, and followed after the wolf he'd been following all his life, his mother.
The death of his littermate eventually no longer bothered young Dallik, as he and his mother changed their rendezvous site every few nights. His mother would leave for long periods of time, and Dallik was often left to his lonesome. Between the ages of five and eleven months, the two began to fight over what food they would find; often resulting in his mother disappearing for longer and longer periods of time.
During the night of his first spring, just shy of becoming a yearling, Dallik's mother left without warning. He spent several days at the spot he'd been abandoned at, refusing to accept the fact that his mother had moved on without him. Having grown up outside of pack life, he'd never socialized with other wolves or hunted properly; he'd been raised a scavenger with little knowledge of the harsh reality of life. What happened to Anita is unknown, although it is presumed that she has also passed due to malnutrition.
Since the age of eleven months, the brute has been on his own, traveling the northern half of Anikira as a true vagabond.
