The female did not originate from an area where the winters were this grueling, but her thick fur made the air enjoyable to her as she stood for a moment on a high point, though it felt hard to breath she didn't mind, it was a different feeling as she stood on almost the very edge, ready to tumble down on the precipice of the gigantic ice form. She smiled softly, putting the very tips of her paws right over the edge, just to know what it felt like, just to damn all the ones who might say it was crazy, her teeth were about the only thing that blended well with this world, her coat a stark difference. she knew she was an easy target, but to her knowledge no pack had claimed this land, maybe it was too barren even if it would provide shelter, even if a small part of her wanted to stay here instead of heading on, Valyn, she thought of the name, she sighed no she couldn't stay here; but she could linger and as she finally brought her paws fully back from the edge the female wolf glanced over. She wondered briefly what it would be like if she settled down, not to start a pack, but stopped moving, stopped searching for something she doubted she would find - just to be alone. This entire place, even with all the nooks and crannies, and life tucked away in surprising places, resonated alone ice and undisturbed wind. She almost felt as if she were interrupting something just being here, her paws itched to stand on that ledge again, and amusement glimmered in her eyes even if her smile had died long ago.
I would miss this, if I were ever to find a way back, this is what I would miss she decided. Her nose scented the air, but there was nothing in it there was nothing except ice, and water, no fire here, and even the small caves had openings, just nothingness that made up everything. There was a slight tint to everything, as if nothing was pure white, but she didn't mind, she didn't mind the ice freezing between her toes, or the frost collecting on her pelt as if to wrap her up so there was not a speck of black even if the stark contrast couldn't be covered up, and she didn't mind the sparse air. She was enjoying herself, so she smiled Damn it all and put her paws on the very edge again, if she were to never have to eat or drink she could stand there forever.
