Changes have become too severe in Anikira, and the wolves have been temporarily relocated to the Anikiran Southern Isles. Things have grown dire and unlivable on the mainland; it was time for outside intervention. Please be sure to review the full update on the staff board for more information!
The current season is fall in the Southern Isles. Due to their proximity to the equator, the region is still warm. There is currently no breeding and no birthing amongst the wolves
The female did not originate from an area where the winters were this grueling, but her thick fur made the air enjoyable to her as she stood for a moment on a high point, though it felt hard to breath she didn't mind, it was a different feeling as she stood on almost the very edge, ready to tumble down on the precipice of the gigantic ice form. She smiled softly, putting the very tips of her paws right over the edge, just to know what it felt like, just to damn all the ones who might say it was crazy, her teeth were about the only thing that blended well with this world, her coat a stark difference. she knew she was an easy target, but to her knowledge no pack had claimed this land, maybe it was too barren even if it would provide shelter, even if a small part of her wanted to stay here instead of heading on, Valyn, she thought of the name, she sighed no she couldn't stay here; but she could linger and as she finally brought her paws fully back from the edge the female wolf glanced over. She wondered briefly what it would be like if she settled down, not to start a pack, but stopped moving, stopped searching for something she doubted she would find - just to be alone. This entire place, even with all the nooks and crannies, and life tucked away in surprising places, resonated alone ice and undisturbed wind. She almost felt as if she were interrupting something just being here, her paws itched to stand on that ledge again, and amusement glimmered in her eyes even if her smile had died long ago.
I would miss this, if I were ever to find a way back, this is what I would miss she decided. Her nose scented the air, but there was nothing in it there was nothing except ice, and water, no fire here, and even the small caves had openings, just nothingness that made up everything. There was a slight tint to everything, as if nothing was pure white, but she didn't mind, she didn't mind the ice freezing between her toes, or the frost collecting on her pelt as if to wrap her up so there was not a speck of black even if the stark contrast couldn't be covered up, and she didn't mind the sparse air. She was enjoying herself, so she smiled Damn it all and put her paws on the very edge again, if she were to never have to eat or drink she could stand there forever.
Judas never quite liked the cold… He much rather prefered a day by coastline, soaking in the sun. But since winter’s arrival, he hasn’t had that luxury of bathing in the heat at his wish and whim. It was these realities of the world that caught him off guard at every turn. Growing up, his dad always spoke to him as if the entire world belonged to him, but traveling throughout Anikira as his own wolf has revealed to Judas that the world in fact does not belong to him, which is a disappointing truth to him, quite frankly.
From the massive earthquake that occurred a week or so ago, Judas would never make the connection between this new land that swallowed up the northern coastlines and the disrupting upset of the continent. He wasn’t nearly intelligent enough to process cause and effect, or suspicion, or hypothesis… Or even common sense, for that matter. He simply existed. Judas was no genius, saw no higher purpose in life, or believed in any deity. He was a poor soul, really. Perhaps he could find someone with the bravery to reprogram him, but until that day, he wondered Anikira like a mentally stunted stray dog… Which was quite exactly what he was.
The male hopped about on the ice form, going who knows where. His thick coat kept him warm from the weather. He thought nothing at all but simply tread mindlessly. In the wind, he picked up a slight scent. Female, and fairly young. A yearling, most likely. Judas believed her to be alone, as no other smell came to him. He did not smell readiness to breed, so he was hardly enticed to seek out the girl, but he didn’t have to look very far at all to find her right away. He looked up and saw a perfect little black dot on the edge of the massive mountain. She was like a princess, anticipating her days as queen. Her kingdom was this icy wasteland. From atop her throne, she looked quite fearless. Judas felt curiosity drag him toward the stranger. He hopped from ledge to ledge to icy ledge. The male came to a platform leading forward to the same edge the ebony character stood upon. He was behind her and she probably didn’t suspect his presence just yet, but he’d feel no guilt if he surprised her by asking right out, “where is your pack?” He’d ask this simply because he thought all yearlings should have some kind of family or pack to wander with. It never occurred to him that she may very well just be out on her own on her own choice… Or perhaps, not on her own choice.

Rassa paused, scenting the air; dully it was there, company she observed blandly. Glancing down at her paws she stepped them away from the edge and turned to face this stranger. If she had eyebrows she would have raised them at the idea that this wolf was incredibly stupid if I had not noticed him, what would I have done surprised? She didn’t think that she would have fallen, but the thought that this wolf either thought he could sneak up on her or didn’t really care to introduce himself first made her… frustrated. Still he scented like a pack and she was intrigued, Valyn. This far north, she found it interesting, the chilly wind buffeted her but ultimately she didn’t mind, and the ice didn’t overly bother her either. This male however might just. He was a large brute, and not surprisingly larger than her – but she wasn’t intimidated, she had been smaller than far too many wolves who she had bested to think that that was the most important factor. She appraised him before answering, her accent muffled with the wind along with the rest of her words “Aye, thas why I’m standing here alone” she stared almost incuriously at the wolf even if she wasn’t surprised “in a place without borders.” She barely was barely winded, the air felt odd up here but she had no desire to leave, well she might now, but that was besides the point. She realized that she too had not introduced herself, which was poor manners but she supposed that she could return the favor. She allowed her gaze to slide for a moment out onto the rest of the domain. Almost wistfully she wished that she was alone again before reminding herself what a poor notion that was. She was a wolf after all, and most needed packs if not interaction regularly or they went insane. She doubted that she would, and she liked those moments, not because she was alone specifically – but she could never exactly feel like that when there was another wolf around Lie, there was she cut off the thought, she hadn’t. She almost wished the other would speak just to keep her mind off. She knew of the disturbance a short time ago, but wasn’t sure it was in any way connected with this new chunk of land. She knew that the land had to come from somewhere, and that it had to hit the island, but she wasn’t quite interested enough to think it out much further than that. She wondered what this male wanted, most wolves didn’t stray too far from the pack and here was the wolf – granted older than herself – up north. She wasn’t sure if he was in good standing so she might not be able to use him to get into the pack, but the option was there.

In an effort to provide the least restrictve roleplaying environment available, Anikira and their staff are looking to move to the Proboards paid forums. This forum would allow unlimited writing freedom to members, as well as an ad-free environment and our ability to customize the forum and its ratings/content however we choose! In order to do so, we will require your help! There is a monthly cost associated with this service, and any and all donations toward this goal are appreciated. Please use the PayPal link below for all donations for Anikira maintenance and moving costs. We look forward to a roleplaying environment where the sky is the limit!
Please note the donation page is listed under Uru's name as it cannot be listed otherwise without a business account. All funds associated with this PayPal account will be used directly for the maintenance and costs of Anikira, and hopefully soon anikira.com as our roleplaying forum.
This untraditional coupling is one of the truly loving matches in Anikira. Although they are members of two different species, Calantha and Rikez have overcome the differences and rose above, finding love in the most pure of ways. And from this pairing, a litter born of two loving parents was conceived. These little boys and girls will have the great honor of being raised by two parents that support each other, while many of the offspring in Anikira have not had such a benefit. The pair are truly fitting of one another; both kind-hearted and generally good individuals.
