The time had finally come and to say the silver female was excited would be an understatement. This would not only be the first ceremony that her new pack would celebrate but would also be the first ceremony she got to lead or participate in since the fire that destroyed Tala. The only thing stopping her from being completely happy was the fact that this would be the first ceremony since she was born that her brother would not be a part of and, only one of her sixteen pups would be there. But, she knew that for the sake of her pack, she could not allow herself to wallow in her sorrows and instead would use her sadness as strength to make this a memorable first ceremony. She would make her brother proud.
As she moved to the edge of the forest she couldn’t help but look on with awe at the large full Wolf Moon that was beginning to rise over the horizon. It would offer plenty of light for the ceremony and Kiva was thankful for that. Since Thurseblot was a time to come together and restock everything for the second half of winter, Kiva had decided to turn the ceremony into a pack wide group hunt. Together, they would catch enough food to last them through the rest of the cold season and if she thought there was food to spare, then she would end the ceremony with a well deserved feast.
Finally, as the Aesir got to the edge of the trees she reached her muzzle out to the full moon and let out a loud summoning howl. It was loud enough so that all of Othala would hear it and know to come gather around. She let it ring out for a minute longer before going quiet and then sitting on her haunches to await the appearance of her pack.
I pirouette in the dark, I see stars through a mirror, tired mechanical heart beats 'til the song disappears...Somebody shine a light, I'm frozen by the fear in me. Somebody make me feel alive and shatter me.
It was still strange here. The siblings were still considered new to the island and frankly it irked Yang. He liked to be confident but here he had to rely on the knowledge of others much more than he was used to. Yet there was a bright side of being here. They no longer had to walk on eggshells or face daily accusations of being bewitched, the siblings could be what they wanted to be.
When the call was heard, Yang felt an urge to find out what it was. Sadly that meant being apart from Yin, however briefly, since the trip seemed to tire her greatly. He had promised to return shortly so they could be together again, it was near agony for him to leave her there but he had to know what was going on.
Large white paws carried him towards the dying echoes of the howl and soon he faced the blue marked female. Demonstrating his respect to her, Yang bowed his head and lowered his tail as he approached. He was the first to arrive and it was now he began to wonder if he was even supposed to be here at all. Where were the others? An natural impulsive nature pulled at him to ask but something held him back. Was it that Yin had a calming effect even if she wasn't right by him to brush her fur against his? He didn't know. But he did know it didn't last for long.
Growing impatient, Yang finally spoke, "You called?" His voice was a bit more harsh than he intended but the desire to know made the question rush out without him giving much thought to how he should word it. Frankly it was a common occurrence, Yin was better at picking the appropriate terms. He was burning fire and she was soothing waters. Freya could hardly sleep, in fact she could not remember the last time she had slept at all during the night. It seemed like night time was her sacred time. The time for her to really hone in on her skills and learn what she was truly capable of. When she had first arrived on Anikira, shipwrecked and confused she had had no idea of what her future would hold. She had been scared, nervous, and exhausted. But suddenly someone had spoken to her, had assured her that everything would be okay but that she would have to make personal sacrifice in order to see it. She hadn't even the furthest clue what they had meant but literally within three days time she had proven herself. It was the first time she had met her mate, and she had personally sacrificed herself in order to protect her. A rogue male had tried to take advantage of her and Freya could only remember being guided by blind fury as she attacked him. It was then that she lost half of her ear but it was worth it. Thinking back on that night Freya smiled to herself, but it also brought sadness. She had not seen her mate in months now- it was almost as if she had disappeared into thin air. Most nights Freya would sit up for hours watching and waiting- hoping that she would return but to no avail. Freya had not spoken to Eidus or Kiva about her disappearance as it was still a sore wound for the shaman. Her auds flicked backward, what would she even say to them? She's gaen is a stairt. Her conscious murmured to her and she huffed a sigh. It was harder then it seemed to just simply come out and say it. Her heart hurt, it made her angry.
She didn't have to think about it long however because the sound of a howl lit up the night. It bounced off the walls of her den, radiating in her ears. Immediately she stood, shaking the leaves and dander off her pelt before climbing out of her den. Her appendages led her easily throughout the woods, the path memorized clearly. Freya could close her eyes and still know exactly where she was going. When she arrived onto the scene there were two wolves, Kiva and one she had not yet met. You called? His words were a bit harsh sounding and Freya felt her lip curl involuntarily. Instantly she calmed herself however, knowing that she was just a bit more sensitive considering her own personal problems. However they would not be front and center tonight, there were other more important things to be focused on. Sorry a'm late. She spoke up with her quiet, bell-like tones. She moved forward to sit beside Kiva on her right flank. When Eidus arrived he would no doubt take her left side. Her ice blue eyes made contact with the ivory brute as she watched him curiously. She was sure she would find out who he was eventually. Part of her felt bad- she hadn't been nearly as social as what she should have been lately but she would fix that in time.
