Kaine slowly began to drift towards consciousness. He felt the cool air surrounding him, he slowly felt his breathing, his sense of touch.
Finally, the grey wolf's eyes flickered open.
He was in a small hollow in the ground, barely big enough to contain the grey furred warrior, "What... ow.". Kaine groaned as a headache started inside his skull. Suddenly, a memory came and went, the sight of a massive wolf literally roaring at him. Kaine chuckled before coughing, "You lucky nutter. I will get you yet.".
He slowly dragged himself forward towards the exit of the hollow, tight muscles straining in protest. Gritting his teeth, Kaine threw himself out of the hole and landed his four paws. The wolf slowly gazed at the landscape, the hollow was dug into a small hill on a large grassy plain, a gentle wind blew across it.
"Canrus." Kaine muttered to himself, "Could have at least handed me over to Vor or... someone." He shivered, "It does feel a bit nippy here thinking of which. Unusually nippy.".
Shrugging, Kaine began to climb the hill. "Ah well, I can't have missed that much, I might as well get back to Kamari. Just get my bearings..."
He reached the top of the hill, and what he saw stopped Kaine in his tracks, his jaw dropping in a rare moment of surprise.
Just ahead was more of the Shydar, but even further out was something he didn't expect. Mountains, vast expansives of ice and snow stretched past what Kaine would have recognised as Canrus' northern border. But now there was a whole new region past that border.
"Okay." Kaine finally said to himself, "What the hell happened? Am I dead? Somewhere else? Delusional? Gone forward in time? Just missed alot of action?"
Kaine shook his head, "Geez, if there is a god and he literally pulled me out some story only to throw me back in a few years later, I hope he feels damn awful right now."
