[attr="class","pltxt"]Sleep for the night came to be quite interesting when he woke up several times to find the young one curled up next to him. Where he had grown up, sleeping on his own, having her next to him like that always confused him until he realized that it was just the pup that he was protecting for the night. At one point, he remembers waking up to shift his weight so that both sides of the creature's body was asleep, and he laid flat on his side with his back to her, but his head was pulled backwards so that his skull was lightly against her. When that woke him, he rested his head more comfortably, his chin against a leg.
As he slept, his mind was clear, but he wasn't in a full sleep. He was still somewhat aware of what was going on around him. The small rocks falling down in the mines, the soft winds that pushed their ways around them, barely stirring their fur as they slept.
When morning finally came, Tarak was found laying flat on his stomach, his head close to the small silver white pup. How he found that comfortable, he wasn't sure, but he did know that his limbs were a little numb when he stood to stretch. As he stood, he tried not to wake her until he laid back down. When she rose, the two would go find their breakfast before he helped her find her way back home. He may have to deal with the Alpha if they came across him along the way, but then he knew that she would make it home safely. He knew the lands better than Tarak did and would take better care of Dia better than he could out here. And as soon as she was home safe, Tarak was sure to be on his way.
