History:
Argent had always considered himself to have a relatively peaceful life, in the beginning. He’d been born alongside one sibling, a sister who he would come to love dearly, in a park full of life. While their litter was small, it was certainly not the only brood born that season, and so it was with a large family that Argent was raised, his life full of joy and easiness. He spent many days as a young pup playing with his sister, and when he was not busy entertaining Aztec’s boundless curiosity and keeping her out of trouble, Argent could always be found sparring and training with the others males of their pack. Their lineage was a valuable one, essential to pack life in Yellowstone, though Argent was not aware of this. All the young brute knew was that he was fortunate, growing up with those who he cherished while carefully keeping his distance from the strange two-legged creatures who would sometimes come to gawk at them.
Argent was, as previously mentioned, very close with Aztec. And due to this, there were good times and bad times; though the pair usually enjoyed each other’s companionship, they sometimes argued as siblings were known to do. After one particularly heated quarrel, Aztec fled, and for a moment Argent told himself that he would not follow her. She would be fine. But Argent had always been loyal beyond all else, and good-natured; it did not take him long to feel sorry for his argument with Aztec, who he sought out to console and comfort. And this was how the brute discovered that she had gone beyond the boundaries of their home. Panic had surged within him at the realization, and he had not hesitated to follow her, determined to bring her back safely. And when he crested the hill to find her, seemingly transfixed by a herd of cattle, he had immediately spotted what she had not: humans, so unlike the ones that visited them, pointing something that glistened in the sunlight in her direction. Argent had not known what it was, but the feeling of dread that twisted in his gut made him call out to her, and she turned just as an explosion of sound like an odd roar split the air.
Together they’d fled back to their home, where Argent had lectured Aztec, but he’d been relieved that she was safe. It was not the end of their troubles, though. Days later the hum of a strange sky-creature had shattered their careful peace, and the wolves of Yellowstone had fled from the helicopter, with Argent leading Aztec to safety. Or so he’d thought. It had been her telltale cry that had made him pause, whirling, a snarl upon his lips as he prepared to defend her – but he could not. A pinprick of pain coursed through his shoulder, his movements grew sluggish as he struggled towards her, his vision blurring until everything was dark. In and out of consciousness he slipped, his sister always at the forefront of his mind. Over and over they drugged him until Argent learned not to snarl, to growl, to give any indication that he was aggressive. They drugged Aztec for longer, and Argent spent several nights fretting over her from his cage, where he could sometimes catch the briefest glimpse of his sister. When she finally awoke while they were caged upon a plane, her voice calling out to him was a blessing and a relief. She was alive, and Argent did everything in his power to comfort her. Wherever they were going, whatever had happened, he would not abandon her.
Though the pair was destined to live their lives in a zoo, it would not be so. When the plane they were boarded upon began to shudder and shake, Argent had been terrified, his stomach dropping as they plummeted and his feet slipped out from beneath him. There had been a horrible crash, an explosion of wood around them as their containers shattered, a rush of water. And though his ears rang, though his muscles ached and throbbed, he knew that he had to find Aztec in the confusion of the waves. And he did, her pelt so familiar to him as he swam towards it, knowing as he grasped her scruff that she was alive but unconscious. He’d dragged her with him as he’d kicked and labored, treading water until he felt damp ground beneath his paws. And then, once they were free of the ocean at last, Argent had collapsed.
He awoke to the sound of Aztec’s voice, in a strange land that he did not recognize. He was confused and sore, his wits slow to return, and it was clear that their live had suddenly and startlingly changed. But as Argent rose to stand alongside his sister, he knew one thing: no matter what happened, they would endure together.
Personality:
Argent is a steadfast, trustworthy brute, endlessly loyal to those that he pledges his allegiance to. He is slow to anger, his temper normally absent in favor of a quiet, calculated control that causes the male to excel in battle due to his quick wit and critical thinking skills. While he is certainly brawny, this does not mean that Argent lacks a brain; in fact he considers himself to be fairly intelligent, and enjoys good conversation as much as he enjoys a nice spar or battle. He is constantly pushing himself to be better, determined to be the best form of himself that he can be. He is serious when it comes to matters concerning his duties, though he is not incapable of relaxing or jesting with those that he is close to. Overall he is a noble creature, preferring peace but never opposed to fighting for what he desires and loves should it come to it.
He enjoys all aspects of life and tries not to take things for granted. When it comes to things that Argent feels strongly about, he will voice his opinion honestly, but not exactly unkindly. He cherishes the relationships between family and friends in his life, holding though who manage to wiggle past his walls very close to his heart. It is difficult if not impossible to sway him from a path once he has chosen it, his loyalty unrivaled by all other emotions within him.
