Thor stood at the edge of the burned forest. The land in front of him singed and destroyed in a great fury of flame and liquid stone. It had been a sight to behold and had come close to claiming more of his pack lands than he felt comfortable with. Not that one could have exactly fought a mountain with any degree of certainty. None the less the large brute stood at the edge of his lands where he had been patrolling to keep a wary eye on the now molten lands.
Ash had painted his paws a dark dull gray where once they had been a pristine white. Flecks of gray and black spotted his fur at random place. He had bathed more times in the last several weeks than ever before in his life he had felt like. The need to get the annoying cooled cinders out of his fur though had driven him to constantly retreat and find clear water to rinse himself. Though there had been many annoyances Thor had to admit there had been many interesting sights since he had begun patrolling this area.
Its not often one was able to see molten rock. Let alone seeing it flow like a river across burned ground. The ash cloud had been another amazing sight that had painted very interesting sun sets for a while after the great mountain had belched its rivers of death and destruction. Thor felt like the destruction of the land mimicked some of the amazing changes that his own life and pack had dealt with. The loss of their alpha and others on top of a changing of ranks internal had made the pack chaos for a bit. That was why he had chosen to patrol this southern edge himself and keep an eye on the land.
Also with Alina's sudden arrival Thor had been at a loss for as to how he would approach the new leadership. He needed to get the pack to accept her as soon as possible but at the same time he worried that this may be to volatile of a time to make that move. All the thinking that ran through his head annoyed Thor. Too much in the recent months had made the warrior feel like he was constantly speaking to himself and worrying over things. What he would not give to go back to the simple ways of killing his enemies and hunting food. But this land was so much more contorted than anything he had ever experienced.
Not that this land was a terrible fate for the brute. After all he had found a new family in place of his long gone one. Kairos was an honorable pack that he truly felt at home in. And Alina, dear sweet beautiful Alina. That tiny ball of innocence, energy, and love had given him something he had never felt before. True honest peace. She was everything to him now. She had cemented a place for herself in his heart and mind in such as way as to become part of his existence. He had to admit he was happy she was in his pack lands now with him, even if it left him in an awkward situation as to what to do with his pack. Better to leave that to other days though. For now the massive white furred wolf watched the land out in front of him smolder.
