Eidus stood at the edge of the pool more than slightly worn and battered. It had been a long several months traveling the lands. So much of the world had changed since he had first stepped foot on it so very long ago. Many packs had started on this land and begun to take over territory. The territory itself had shifted drastically as well. He had spent a very long time, since that fated day so long ago when the world had shifted from under his feet, wandering the lands feeling out what had changed. Fired and ice in equal amounts had moved around their world giving birth to new lands and pressing in on old ones.
So many packs had sprung up as well. Including the one he also now belonged to. Though to be fair he had been a terrible member of it since it started. He snorted at the thought and grinned lazily. He had disappeared almost as soon as the pack began leaving behind his slowly growing numbers as well as Kiva his alpha. She had been an amazing part of his world for a short bit. A strong willed leader though cautious as it was needed. He had a deep affection for the female since he had fed her and her pup when they had washed up in this land nestled by mountains.
Now he could only imagine what kind of pack she had collected in his absence. Sadly he had not done much in the way of good byes when he had felt the land move. He disappeared that night into the shadows to go and find the source of what had caused the chaos. The mountain that had exploded was a sight to behold and he would not regret seeing that one bit. The fire and ash had been intense in ways he had never experienced before. Walking over the cooled molten rock had been an interesting experience also. He had moved through so many other pack lands as well on his travels. So much life had exploded even as the land had erupted in liquid fire and death.
Such an interesting place these lands. So much change and evolution had happened in such a short period. He had been on these lands for over a complete cycle of the seasons now and seen much. The ice lands towards the north had also been intense in their own way. Vast swaths of ice and snow with mountains bordering the edge of the coast. The glistening caverns and crevices had amazed Eidus as he had wandered the cold lands. He had ended up heading south east from there and noticed that a new land had also appeared in the east off of their island. A smaller island had appeared and looked like past of the ocean had been shoved up and out.
Eidus had decided against trying to get to it because it did not look hospitable to even begin with let alone worth the time to swim too. Also he had never quite forgiven the ocean for attempting to kill him all that time ago. He chuckled dryly at that idea flicking one tattered ear at the reminder of almost dying. It had been not too terribly long ago when his own past had hunted him down and tried to kill him as well. He had long ago healed those wounds, though they still ached at times, and the trip across the island had helped settle him mentally finally. Now he had returned back to the lands he called home and hopefully back to his pack. He had snuck back into the pack lands managing to dodge anyone who may be patrolling.
He had found his way back to the ever still pool that lay in the heart of the lands. Here he took a moment of respite to look back on his travels. The pool calmed him and allowed him to ease his mind and body after such a long sojourn across the lands. But like all things in this reality it would have to end. He closed his eyes and leaned back his head breathing deeply in of the cool air that surrounded the lands. With his breath held he listened to the silence, so fragile, for one more moment before letting loose a long howl. It was a howl of return. A howl of calling to the pack that held these lands. A howl to tell his family that he was once again home.
