History:
They were always destined to become fighters, to survive no matter what situation they found themselves in. Hel and her twin brother Heimdall were born to a pair of strict parents, living in a pack that valued strength and taught all conceived within to do the same. From the time they were able to understand the world, they were trained to live in the harsh landscape and its many dangers. It was clear the two would be capable of handling themselves; Heim had a temper that did him well in a fight and Hel a particular interest in botany, though mainly for poisonous plantlife. She was however just as strong in a fight but she didn't care much for it. She preferred to blend into the shadows, staying out of the light. By the age of two, it was thought they would become valuable members of the pack.
Such things were not to last though. Haem had always had a dominant streak, one that not everyone within the pack appreciated. A fight broke out between another young wolf and himself and though Hel wasn't around to witness the start, drawn by the noise she arrived in time for its conclusion. Perhaps her brother hadn't needed to kill the male, but in the heat of the fight, her twins temper became unhinged and the other was ripped apart. Whilst many of the brutal things the pair were capable of had been overlooked, this was something that couldn't be because of the rank of the dead wolfs parents. Heimdall was cast out and whilst she knew the fight had been a foolish endeavour, Hel faithfully went along with him, leaving behind the only life she had ever known. He was her other half, they had each others backs, no matter what. Hel got revenge on them though, using the plant daphne to poison the nearby water supply and any carcasses she came across.
For a year they travelled together, sometimes as a pair and other times not so much. Heimdall had a habit of picking up loners like themselves, forcing them to submit to him, yet he lacked the skills needed to lead. Most left when given the opportunity, others were killed by either Heimdalls temper or Hels special skill. With them being constantly on the move, she was forever finding new poisons and ways to distribute them. She left a trail of the dead wherever they went, mostly because she was bored. It didn't take her long to find she had another weapon in her arsonal; the ability to slip in and out without being noticed. She could watch as they went about their business and take out whoever took her fancy, though that wasn't to say there weren't many close calls to begin with. It was a long while before she even began to question the whys behind her actions.
At a time when they had the skills but needed a direction, direction came in the form of the roaming pack Aesir, lead by the formidable she-wolf Valdís. The pack, in Hels oppinion, was a gift given to the by fate. She quickly adopted the beliefs of Vardis' pack, desperately needing someone to beleive in. The main gods she prayed to were Uglir and Hvalris, the content of her prays between them and herself. The pack was young when they first arrived, but with time it grew and the twins fit in perfectly, Hels skillset becoming benefitial to a whole rather than just another way of adding to her list of the dead. It looked like the world was theirs, nothing stood in the way of the ferocity of the pack, the strong overcoming the weak. It was not all destruction and Hel found that she had enough love and loyalty to go around, making her feircely protective of the family that had been created. But in the manner of all things, their perfect life ended, this time in fire.
Her faith had been wavering for some time, the conviction she had once had in her beliefs now incredibly fragile and Hel was unsure that if the Gods were with them, and if they cared if they were. She had been seperated from the pack at the time of the fire, being one of the last few to dive of the cliff by Valdís' urging. The need to survive over road the need to find her brother and their had been no time to ask if he had made it over the edge. Even so, they would have suvive the drop and the swim before being able to find each other again. If anyone survived at all...
Personality: As her name implies, if one was to cross her, this female would give them hell ... and perhaps a quick death if they are lucky. Though most likely they wont see it coming. Her thoughts are filled with sinister things, bloody memories and desires that should rarely be allowed to walk across the surface of her mind for fear of what damage they would cause. Hels thoughts are her own though and she is just as likely to tell a lie as speak the truth, if she says anything at all. When it comes to protecting that which she feels feircely enough about, she will do what has to be done and will probably enjoy it. At least thats what she tells herself. If she still possesses the softer emotions, she sure doesn't show it.
Hels humour is black as a pit and often comes to the surface right before her temper is unleashed. This females anger is not an untempered thing, most of the violent acts she has done and still does are for her own preservation or the preservation of her kin. Perhaps a devoute at one time, now the flame of her faith is like a candle in the wind, desperate to stay alight but lacking in conviction. The last component to this she-wolf is her knowledge of plants, though specialising in the poisinous variety. This, mixed with her excellant ability to get into places she shouldn't, makes her deadly even if she isn't using physical force.
She loves her twin brother, Heimdall, though they do not always see eye to eye. They are family and family sticks together, not matter what. Even if they are fallen out, they always have each others back.
