A product of their mother’s rape, Goliath and his siblings came into the world through a misfortunate circumstance of weakness and domination. His colossal father, Belial, laid the seeds of three enormous pups within Ahri, as well as a fourth runt – eventually the pups outgrew the small female’s womb and were born heavily premature, the first litter to be born into the Ferus pack.
And so continues the fairy tale story – Goliath, the oldest and self-proclaimed wisest of his brothers, grew at a tremendous rate, though they spent little time together and barely afforded each other more than a moment’s attention. Only Aaricia, the runt and youngest sister, held Goliath’s constant adoration, but few noticed that his affections spanned far beyond brotherly love. He revered her pure heart and innocent nature so deeply and inexplicably that he rarely, if ever, left her side.
Not long after his weaning, the members of his family began to disappear without cause or explanation, and eventually Ferus became disbanded entirely. Some would say that this was a blessing for the young Goliath, whose regard for his younger sister bordered on unhealthy, and lead to his final decision to leave his abandoned homeland upon the island of Ina’mos and journey to the Western shore of Anikira.
Though the memories of his parents were shadowed and vague, Goliath had one single, sure recollection of Belial – to the pup, he had been god-like and immense, his legs wider than the trunks of trees, and his height defying even the tallest of stars. Compared to the common wolf, his father was a deity – an insane, wonderful deity. In truth, Goliath never for a moment believed that his father could have perished along with the rest of Ferus – not unless the divine god Fenrir himself had ventured from his unassailable height to destroy him.
Goliath spent the entirety of his youth alone, fending for himself and warding off any that approached with hostility and bitterness, festering in what would later become the irreversible spur of madness. He mourned in silence for his family, especially his youngest sister whom held his utter infatuation, and his complete seclusion forged him into a rather misunderstood and fierce giant, his beastly size imparting a brutish confidence in his otherwise cold manner. Finally, it was in the throes of his acceptance for his family’s death that he came upon Datura – a female weakened by her journey to Anikira – and in her proud yet enfeebled state, Goliath was quick to enforce his claim upon her, death being the only freedom from him.
Not long after this, he encountered a brute equally as impressive as himself, who outmatched his height and humbled the otherwise arrogant Goliath – Titan, similarly impressed by the other’s mad boldness and conviction, found his domineering ambitions aligned with Goliath’s, and the two found common ground that lead towards the vision of a pack where the strongest, rightful leaders would guide the weak towards a harmonized greatness. He, as the alpha, and the formidable Titan as his beta - there was nothing in his sights that two mighty giants would be unable to accomplish, and under their dual determination, all that affronted them would bow to their undeniable right to lead.
After an unexpected reunion with his siblings whose deaths he had long since mourned, empowered by their resurrection, Goliath decided unquestionably that he would return to his homeland and rebirth what remained of the corpse of Ferus, giving new life to the embers of an empire that would blaze under a new name – Kairos. The bloodline of alphas would continue; from his father’s tyrannous dominion over Ina’mos to his grandfather’s cannibal reign upon Tas’alea – Goliath had inherited the divine and treacherous right to rule, and under this deific title, he would surpass the very tyrants’ blood that coursed through his lineage.
Personality:
Goliath has all the charm and dark allure of a mad king – powerful in his own right, but incapable of understanding that his authority over the world has its limits. He believes himself to be a higher being, and as such, has difficulty reigning in his dominant nature to show respect or submission, even when it is in his best interest to do so. This is likely due to his innate veneration of his own exorbitant size and strength, as well as the absence of proper socialisation when he was maturing in solitude.
He is a huge force to contend, with brains and brawn in equal measure (though the 'stability' of his brain is questionable). By definition, he is not an evil wolf, but he is certainly a dangerous one due to his daunting size and unpredictability - yet for every dark, unsavoury facet of his character, there is a redeeming quality nestled somewhere deep within. Though he is avaricious, he is not deceitful; though crude, he is honest; where he is capable of brutality, he is also capable of love. What others may call malicious, he calls humourous. Control is a necessity for him in any situation, as his ultimate desire is to gain the upper hand in anything and everything. He is an easy brute to please, however - with a colossal ego to match his formidable stature, displays of submission and flattery will quickly earn his favour, as will obscure senses of humour.
Goliath appreciates the whimsical things in life, so wolves of dull or noble minds tend to bore him. He is well known for being pitilessly humourous – Goliath is nothing without his satire, and resents those who are incapable of laughter. His wit is tactless, his intellect crude, and his humour is so obscure that many cannot fathom when he is jesting, and when he is deathly serious – often he switches between the two with flawless transition. Not unlike his mother, he is a creature of great duplicity and can display many contradictory virtues and downfalls at a whim, be it patience or impatience, mercy or cruelty, loyalty or treachery. He is both a powerful ally, capable of flattening any who stand in his path, as well as a loose canon and lover of chaos, his impulses wild and driven by the need to disrupt normality. Those who wish to make a comrade of this enormous brute should be sure that the risk is worthwhile, as he is beholden to no one, and isn’t afraid to make this known.
On the surface, Goliath plays a façade of sanity – but journeying into his mind, his temperamental quirks are actually deep-rooted crevices that compromise his ability to see right from wrong. His insanity is strange to define and not outrageously noticeable, at first; it seems to be born not from a mindless lack of thought, but from the inability to stop thinking, his thoughts excessively active and unsound. It was always inevitable that Goliath would inherit some semblance of madness from both parents; his mother, a madwoman of two split minds, and his father, a brute driven by his own eccentric balance of insanity and savagery, procreated to deliver into the world a strange and confused beast.
