History: From the very beginning, Heimdall and his twin sister Hel were taught the value of survival. Their pack revered strength and demanded it of all who were counted among their numbers. Their parents were strict, dedicated to the twins education according to their African pack standards.
As soon as they possibly could the twins were trained to endure all sorts of climates and various dangerous scenarios to test their abilities. AS a result unique talents were soon brought to light. Heimdall possessed a powerful temper that served him rather well to come out on top of the treacherous drills he was put through. His stubborn streak coupled with his noteworthy strength won him favor as he grew. Hel, on the other hand, showed her talents through the workings of plants. Eagerly learning all she could. Of course this is not to say she did not possess her own physical strength, she held her own wel in face to face combat. She simply preferred distance fighting and letting her plants speak for her.
All the while through their training, the twins were soon seen as a valuable commodity among the pack. A promise for the pack to continue on with power.
But it was too good to last forever. Heimdall had a dispute with one of the other trainees and they were to settle it as was suitable for the pack. Fight and whoever gave up first lost. Just as he had done many times before, Heimdall started his fight with confidence. Little did he know this fight would change his life. The wolf he fought was a bit younger and cocky as well as the Beta's son. Believing he was entitled to a better standing than Heimdall due to his lineage, he felt the need to beat him no matter what, even going so far as to take a cheap shot and try to blind Heimdall. Seeing that the younger wolf launched straight for his eyes, Heimdall managed to turn his head enough to save one but the other was damaged. That 'Sin' broke Heimdalls temper and it flared dangerously. Before he could even think about what he was doing Heimdall launched in a counter attack and then it all became a blur until he stood there over the bloody corpse of his rival.
Having broken the rules of combat as seen by his pack, the male twin was cast out and forbidden to return. Hel dutifully followed her brother and they became their own little pack as they traveled together for a good amount of time. He honed his strength while she deepened her knowledge of poisonous plants. For a year they wandered together. Heimdall had the desire to start his own pack and found he liked to search out wolves to try and force to do his bidding. While initially some readily took to his dominant behavior, they often left shortly thereafter as Heimdall seemed to lack that needed special skill to keep followers loyal. Some escaped but others were not so lucky, especially the ones he came to value as a 'pet'. His temper and her poisons had left many a corpse for the scavengers to find.
Eventually they came across a roaming pack called Aesir led by Valdis, a powerful female leader who soon won over even the dominant Heimdall. It wasnt long before the twins found themselves integrated into the ranks and purposefully going about life in the manner they liked best. Hel became incredibly involved in their religion while Heimdall had taken a slower, more cautious route towards the Gods. He still became a dutiful warrior, protective of the wolves who became his pack and life seemed to have once again shown them favor.
Until the fire came...Heimdall had been out on a small mission when he first saw the flames lick up the area they called home. The instinctive need to find Hel was unmatched by the danger he put himself to do so. Yet he was unable to locate her. The smoke filled his lungs and seared his mouth, the instinct to survive, the one so deeply implanted in him since he was a pup by his birth pack, made him abandon his quest and flee to the waters.
Enveloped in the cold thrashing liquid, Heimdall raged at his failure of locating his sister. Yet he swam towards the small speck off in the distance, an island called Anikira where he would start over. He would find her..in one form or another.
Personality: To look at Heimdall its easy to tell he is a fighter but he is oh so much more than that. Having grown up in such a strict environment, Heim has learned the benefits of discipline and structure but he also has never been able to dampen his desire to control. he likes to exercise his leadership over others yet lacks the skill set needed to keep it over the general wolves met. When this fails, he uses his cunning and sly tongue to 'convince' them that they wish to remain his pets. The last resolve is death. He isn't a stranger to murder yet neither does he go out looking for victims to slaughter. They must first commit 'a sin' that deems them worthy of such a fate. What these 'sins' are vary and are inconsistent. What was worthy of death one day may not be the next.
Unpredictability is his favorite game. His targets are more fun if he can keep them guessing. This coupled with his rather stoic expressions make the intoxicating elixir he calls fun. He likes to remain calm and collected since it is the frame of mind he can think at highest efficiency yet he is cursed with a malevolent and volatile temper worthy of the Devil himself. Triggered by a disobedient pet or one of his plans falling through, Heim becomes deadly, unable to be placated until it runs its course.
Oddly enough, his dominance issues can be overcome should he respect the individual enough to place himself beneath them and would prove a loyal subject as long as they don't try to put an end to his favorite games completely. This loyalty is strengthened should Hel also accept it.
The relationship with his sister is complicated. They are either thick as thieves or worst enemies. Having such different forms of control issues can prove to be a challenge at times, however it has proven to be a deadly combination when they decide to work together.
