[attr="class","pltxt"]The snow was crisp and blinding ivory beneath his paws, the clouds a dull, listless gray as they drifted overhead. The meadow stretched far ahead of him, the forests of Shyia – his home – just behind. While Argent was sure that the meadow was a sight to behold in the spring, it was currently barren and cold, expanding far into the distance, where Argent could faintly see the shape of the rocky caverns. He’d called Airila his home for many moons now, and for some time he’d remained within the borders, learning every nook and crevice of the territory. But now he had ventured out beyond the borders and into unclaimed land, idly following the stale scent of his sister but telling himself that he was not.
Aztec had been so very distant since they’d arrived on Anikira, something that had not gone unnoticed by Argent. It seemed as if every time he tried to speak with her she was slipping away, until it had become clear that she was avoiding him – though why, Argent did not know. It baffled the male, and though he would not readily admit it, it stung as well. He’d always been so very close to his sister, but now…now, he was not sure.
Huffing out a sigh of frustration, the mottled male drifted towards a pathetic, barren sapling to his right. The tree was a decent distance away from the forest he’d left behind, and he settled beneath it, his rump bumping roughly against the slender trunk. The branches stretched high above him, spindly and reaching, and for a moment Argent stared up at them, his sea-green eyes tracing the pattern of the branches. He had explored so very little of Anikira that being away from Airila felt odd, but somehow…refreshing. He’d washed ashore upon Shyia, after all, and had encountered Arche almost immediately. And so it was that the brute allowed himself to relax, breathing in a lung full of the crisp air. He would enjoy his brief time in new lands, he decided; he was determined to push the worries from his mind.
