The journey to Acerbus had been long but the young wolf didn’t mind it. The weather had been warm and sunny, spring having begun to take winter’s place. A gentle breeze had been present and all while he moved, he allowed himself to be lost in his thoughts. He really wasn’t sure what he wanted to accomplish from this journey but he did hope that somewhere along the lines, he would receive some answers floating around his mind or would at least be able to think of some ways to overcome the obstacles standing in front of him. The last thing he wanted was to return to Inamos the same way he left it.
The first place he saw after arriving to his destination drew him in an appealed to the twisted thoughts in his mind more than he thought it should have. It was a forest but more than that, it was a burnt forest. The trees were dead and covered in scorched marks. There was an eerie fog swimming through the trees that looked almost as if the smoke that destroyed the trees was haunting the forest. The rocks casted mysterious shadows and he could have sworn if one were to listen closely enough, they could hear whispers on the wind. Most would have been turned off by the scene and would have quickly left. But, Croix felt as if he belonged there more so than anywhere else he had traveled.
Walking slowly through the trees, sticking to the shadows so that he could better blend in, his eyes swept from side to side keeping signs out for any movement. He knew at least some of his pack mates had to be in this part of the territory though he didn’t know which ones. He definitely wanted to be the one to spot them first instead of the other way around as he knew it’d be fun to scare someone in these woods.
