The Mackenzie Valley wolf’s journey began when he decided it was time to get away from all the memories of his past. Dimitri didn’t have the slightest clue of why he stayed as long as he did until recently. Even though the plains brought him many horrible memories, he was attached. It was the place he was born and raised, as well as the last place he saw his dear mother. Memories of that day began to seize Dimitri and stop in right in his tracks. He stood frozen as his grey orbs watched his mother run away when he yelled for her to. Then the memories skipped forward to when he went to go look for his mother. He followed her scent for days, feeling like he was getting closer and closer to her each day, until one day her scent went cold. He was devastated, and didn’t want to stop looking, but he eventually did. Why did he and how could he? She was the only one that truly loved him. Dimitri shook his head violently to bring him back to reality. “I did everything I could to try and find her even after her scent went cold. Plus I know deep down that she would have wanted me to just move on with my life. I didn’t want to, but I knew it’s what would make her the happiest,” Dimitri thought to himself as he let out a sigh. He really needed to let go of these memories once and for all before they completely consumed him, and leaving and finding a new home was the first step.
It wasn’t until a week into his journey that he found out where he wanted to go. He had awoken from an odd dream one night that really stood out from the usual nightmares he had about his past. In this particular dream, he was on a journey like he was now, and he ran into his mother. He was so excited to see here and wanted to ask her a million questions, but when he went to ask the first one, she interrupted him. She told Dimitri to go to the Tia'deli Mountains and to seek acceptance into the Airila pack. She then vanished and that was when he woke up. He sat up in an upright position as he began to ponder about the odd dream he had. Those two names sounded faintly familiar, and it took some racking of his brain to recall where he had heard the names. Dimitri was immediately thrown into a flashback when he was younger. His mom and dad were arguing about how Dimitri’s mother had brought up how they all should go to Tia'deli Mountains and seek acceptance into the Airila pack. It was obvious that his mother really wanted them to go there, but his father was against it, and when his mother asked him to consider it, he lashed her face with his claws. The flashback ended after that and Dimitri was thrown back into reality, now knowing where his destination was.
The next couple of days, Dimitri did his best to gather information on how to get to these mountains that his mother had once talked about. Immediately after he gathered the information, he headed out in the direction he was told to go. The trip to the mountains was a long and tiring one both mentally and physically. He was a good four days travel from where he was to the mountains according to the information he had been given. The trip was lengthened even more when he ran into wintery weather. There were days he would have to quit early because it was snowing too heavy, and it was typically those days where he would have nothing but nightmares when he slept.
By the time a week had passed, the Tia'deli Mountains were finally coming into view. Dimitri wanted to bound off towards them in excitement, but the heavy snowfall caused him to do the exact opposite, Sadly it took an extra day to get to the base of the mountain, but when he did, there was no stopping him from climbing up it. The excitement of fulfilling his mother’s dream drove him to climb up the southern side of the mountain without stopping to sleep. By the time he made it to the top, he was exhausted. The mountains were much taller than what Dimitri thought they were. He was exhausted and his body begged for him to rest, but he refused to give him. There was a fire within his heart that was driving him to finish pursuing his mother’s dream, and it was the only thing keeping him awake. The brute sat on the snow covered ground, threw back his neck, and let out a howl to make the alpha aware of his presence.
