TEXT | SPEECH | THOUGHT
There it was, that freakin' raccoon. The lone wolf had been chasing for a while now the only meal in view. He was starving and this seemed like the only logic thing to do. He swiftly ran between all the branches, bushes, trees and steep rocks that the raccoon passed by running for its life. Jericho's ears were fully perked, using his tail as a balancing tool to help him reach his goal. The day was cold, at it was very early in the morning; the sun hadn't come up yet. Jericho was a heavy sleeper, yet his hunger was too much to bare. The raccoon ran faster, and so did Jericho. He got closer and closer until he could get him off balance. With a swift hit with his front legs, the raccoon fell quickly out of balance and fell down. Jericho quickly fell in top of the raccoon and bit its neck, suffocating the animal until it stopped breathing. He licked the blood off his maw and began to open through the flesh.
As he ate, he always maintained strong vigilance. His ears went to all directions and his eyes never left the horizon. He noticed a cave in the distance; he figured out that maybe that's were the famed Ultoris is located. Or maybe a part of their lands. They say that only talented, skilled wolves enter to the pack. Well, Jericho couldn't agree more with himself; they needed a great hunter to their collection of skilled members. He chuckled and licked his maw, finishing his meal. After a while, he was full, so after resting, he got up in his fours and began walking. The way towards the caves were perilous, but it would be totally worth it. After some time, he finally reached his destination; he began to hear the tiny echoes of water droplets falling unto the floor, or to some puddle. He heard some bats... yet it was silent. The floor was slippery, slimy and unstable, yet he liked the silence here. It was a total, different atmosphere for Jericho.
He decided to howl here--the echo would amplify his howl, so he would have more chances of being heard. He filled his lungs with air and exhaled a long, deep howl that echoed with even greater amplitude thanks to the cave. "Ultoris, I want to be part of you!" He smiled and sat down waiting for a reply. He wanted to start fresh, and maybe flirt with a couple of females for a while, then maybe settle down and have a family. Who knew? When he finished thinking, he saw that a beautiful sunrise was taking place in front of him. He smiled yet again and wagged his tail. Such a beautiful display of colors pleased the brute's orange eyes... a sunrise of hope, new beginnings and a new life awaited him. But all he had to do is wait.
And he hates waiting.
