The couple loved him very much and he was very cherished in the early stages of his puphood. His mother was calm, submissive and nurturing, and his father was strong, dominant but gentle and completely in love with his mate. Thanatos grew up the first months of his life with a close-knit family that did everything and anything together. One day, when he was six months old, the happiness of his early days ended when his mother fell gravely ill and passed away, and his father, no longer able to bare with the heartbreak of his beloved's passing, took his own life by jumping out of a cliff. This moment was the one thing that began to fracture Thanatos's mind, and he started to blame his mother for making his father weak and eventually began to blame his mother for his father's demise. A small, but tangible anger began to grow inside of the little pup's heart, and this anger would continue to fuel him until he grew up.After witnessing his parents's death, he began to wander around Tas'alea aimlessly with his head lowered in sadness. Tears of anger and confusion began to stream down his face and his whimpers could be heard softly by those that could be lurking around him. As he walked he found Kuruk; he took him to his father, and since that moment Kuruk and Thanatos began to grow up as brothers and as best friends. Kuruk's family pack cared for Thanatos well, making Thanatos forget sometimes that he was only adopted. He truly felt part of the family. Kuruk became a big role model for Thanatos, acting and becoming the older brother that he always wished to have. Kuruk taught him how to fight, and in one of those practice fights, Kuruk accidentally scratched Thanatos's eye, giving him the scars he has today in his left eye. After some time in the family, Thanatos noticed how reckless his older brother was, and sometimes tried to stop his behavior to no avail. Thanatos was somewhat quieter and well-behaved, and even more because of the grateful nature he had towards the family. That didn't mean he never got into trouble, but he got into trouble far less frequently than Kuruk. At one year old, his family got attacked by a pack of wolves. They fought the best they could, but the pack's strength was far to great, ending in Kuruk and Thanatos's escape. They ran away to the main island, and quickly after, a pack of females "rescued" them, planning on using them for breeding purposes when they were in their sexual maturity. It was in this pack that Thanatos and Kuruk met Odara, a breathtaking wolf that had to be the most beautiful creature that Thanatos had ever laid eyes upon. Thanatos knew of his brother's feelings towards her, but Odara seemed to have an eye for him as well. It was about this time that Thanatos also met Nova, another wolf very similar to Odara, and they became fast friends. This ignited the never ending rivalry between the brothers, making them fight often even for the most trivial things to the most serious matters such as Odara. It was in this time that the pack took Kuruk away from Thanatos because he was "too much of a rebel," ending in the brothers's eight month separation. During this time, Thanatos had no idea where his brother was, and even if he looked around for him, the dominant females that reigned the pack would stop him useless, often overpowering him and controlling him when he demanded an explanation. For some time, he somewhat gave up and convinced himself he was either kidnapped or dead, making him more depressed than he already was in this pack.During this time, Odara showed a huge interest in Thanatos, and he began to go out with her, spending time with her and ultimately falling in love with her. He didn't know that Odara knew about Kuruk's fate, but she kept it a secret from him. As they continued their relationship, one day Thanatos saw Kuruk running away, trying to escape. He was injured and looked desperate, so Thanatos ran behind him after Kuruk called him without asking any questions because he knew that they would be answered later. After managing to escape, Thanatos remembered about Odara and about Nova, but knew that his true loyalty was owed to Kuruk. Without looking behind, he reached safety with Kuruk without knowing that Nova was behind them. Nova had also escaped from the pack because she wanted to be with Thanatos where ever he went. However, Thanatos encountered her and brought her to Kuruk, telling her to stick around with them so she could be safe.It was in this time where Thanatos began to remember about how his mother taught him that certain plants held an amazing power, and she told him that using them in wounds would even accelerate the process. Thanatos used this knowledge to heal Kuruk's wounds and from there he began to gain a knowledge in plants and nature, far beyond his expectations. Of course, it all came through trial and error, often ending in the male eating some drug plants that made him hallucinate, much to Kuruk's amusement.Unbeknownst to Thanatos, Odara was looking for him. He did not know that she had found Kuruk first, ending in her leaving for a good amount of time. After a while since Odara's disappearance, Thanatos began to grow closer to Nova. He already had a crush on her, and she already had big feelings for the tricolored male, but Thanatos's heart still belonged to Odara. However, he began to forget Odara and fall in love with Nova rather quickly--it was her caring yet confident nature that won his heart. Kuruk began to constantly threaten Nova, ending in Thanatos's anger only growing stronger against his brother. He got into quite some fights with Kuruk ending in Kuruk winning because seemingly the black wolf wanted to make a point to Nova that she was with a weakling. However, Thanatos kept threatening Kuruk and fighting with him and protecting Nova from him at all costs, but Thanatos sometimes underestimated Kuruk's real power. One day, Kuruk injured a random stranger in the woods, ending in Thanatos's anger grow even stronger and always warning Nova of Kuruk, telling him to stay away from him as much as possible because he was out of control. After some time, Kuruk told Thanatos tauntingly that he had told Nova that he was on the rebound of a recently lost love. He ignored his brother because he knew that although he had "forgotten" Odara, the feelings still lingered. Time passed and Kuruk began dating one of Nova's friends called Alvina, to Thanatos's relief. After many threats, fights and tension, Thanatos, Nova, Kuruk and Alvina began to get along more or less good. However, Thanatos began to notice that Alvina was covered in bite marks all over her body. Thanatos began to observe his brother carefully, fearing that he was abusing the female. One fateful day, he heard yelling and desperation coming from the nearby lake, making him dart towards the action. He saw that Kuruk was threatening to drown Alvina, making him angered beyond reason with his brother. He jumped to the rescue, fighting with Kuruk and managing to control him by locking him in a cave, threatening to injure him if he dared to come out. However, Alvina came to Kuruk's rescue because she still loved him, and she was a victim of his abuse. When he came out, Kuruk killed a group of innocent wolves, making Thanatos confront him about his actions. However, the dark wolf was far too broken to realize what he did.Alvina and Kuruk broke their relationship. By that time, Thanatos was attacked randomly by a stranger wolf named Keltai, which was sent by another wolf named Keiran. Kuruk rescued Thanatos, and the encounter left Thanatos wondering what was going on. Sometime after this, Thanatos noticed the growing relationship of his brother and Nova. At first he reacted jealously, sometimes fighting with his brother and trying to take Nova far away from him. However, over the time he calmed down, accepting that she may love both of them. He was determined to win Nova over, and he still is. One day, out of nowhere, Odara came back telling the brothers that she had Nova's brother kidnapped. She was asking in return for a wolf she needed, which was supposedly Keiran's father, Insyo. Thanatos discovered all that had happened with this Keiran wolf, and also found out that if Insyo was killed, Kuruk was going to be killed as well. Thanatos intervened, much to Kuruk's anger. Kuruk didn't understand that Thanatos had saved his life.Time passed, and the black Kenai spoke about creating a pack. Given the fact that Thanatos knew about his brother's unstable nature, he knew that he would not make the best decisions for a pack, but he supported him anyway. Day after day, night after night, the two brothers went on their way to search for a perfect territory, fit for the pack life they desired. In the midst of their search, they came across a small, vulnerable brown pup named Kiara. The pup had gorgeous purple eyes, never-before-seen by the brothers. They took the pup as their own, and Thanatos grew attached to the small pup, reflecting his own life in those beautiful eyes of hers, remembering the days he had been lost and afraid and Kuruk found him. One day, however, Kuruk disappeared. Thanatos, desperate to find him safe and sound, searched high and low for his beloved brother but after some time, Thanatos understood he may have been killed. It was in this moment that Thanatos was left heartbroken, unsure of what to do, filled with anger and confusion; however, he had a responsibility with his adopted daughter Kiara and he had to keep walking forward. Thanatos and Nova grew closer as time passed due to Kuruk's disappearance, eventually becoming mates. The truth about his brother disturbed Thanatos's mind, and he began to take refuge in the belief of the Great Spirit that Kuruk's family had taught him about. He began to pray to this deity for Kuruk's safety, and began to believe in the Great Spirit more day after day. One day, he had a dream--a vision--and Thanatos saw a graceful, shining white buck that spoke to him and revealed that His name was Elohim. Elohim spoke to him and told him to create a pack called Eden in the lands of Tiayr, and ever since that moment happened, Thanatos has had several other dreams about the deity, and in each and every one of them, something new is revealed about Him. Thanatos made Nova his wife under Elohim--his Kimak--and together they lead the pack they were chosen to lead.Image:Personality: Thanatos is a family-oriented, graceful male. He has a big heart, with an enormous compassion and an insatiable love for the souls that he meets. He is wise, and throughout the years his unstable mind has recovered and transformed into a stable wolf, quiet and peaceful, always thinking first before speaking. After his encounter with Elohim, Thanatos has blossomed into a strong parental figure and a loving mate, kind and altruistic; he gives himself entirely for his deity, family and pack, and he always searches for the wellbeing of the ones he loves. He is loyal, wise in his decisions and tries to always strive for peace wherever he goes. He always has a sense of peacefulness within him. He is often found sleeping or alone, hoping to know more about his deity by praying and hoping for new revelations. He is extremely observant, diligent, responsible, understanding, noble and kind; he has a huge heart, and he always wants to solve others problems in hopes of keeping peace in his surroundings. Ever since he lost Kuruk, he has been fiercely protective of those who loves, and he is prone to fall into overprotectiveness in fear of loosing someone else dear to him. He was once a cold individual, with a mindset of "see to believe" in order to survive, but now, the grey-eyed male relies more on his faith to keep on going even if he doesn't see anything good at first hand. The wolf he is now vastly contrasts who he was before. Now, he is a strong and wise leader, putting the needs of his pack members over his own. He sees his fellow pack members as his brethren, not as his subjects, and he desires to be as approachable as he could be. When others meet him, they can observe a certain difference in the way he carries himself; he is elegant, graceful and a peaceful male, treating others with a love and respect that no one can explain. He still has episodes of frustration whenever his perfectionist nature overwhelms him, but after surrendering himself to Elohim, he has changed in ways no one imagined possible. Sometimes he gets frustrated when the small details are left overlooked: this ceremony has to be perfect, this must match with that, the plants for this ceremony must be perfectly aligned... but in the end, he has changed drastically, and he is humbled by the change Elohim has started in him. He is a humble male who desires to leave a mark on this Earth; no matter how big that mark is, or how small, as long as he made a difference in someone's life, he's happy with that. In short, Thanatos is living proof and testimony that someone can change. All it takes is a little bit of faith.
