History: Eidus was born into a small pack in the north Appalachians. His pack consisted of his father, Kordin, his mother, Tirana, his mothers sister, Linon, and the pups born in his litter. He was the only male born in the litter and his two sisters Kiana and Lideen.
His early life as a pup was easy as it went. The area their pack called hom was not far from many human towns. The pack themselves stayed away from the two legged ones but as a side benefit from the close proximity to them, many of the other predators had been forced out or killed. This lead to an over abundance of prey such as deer and rabbits.
As he grew his family life gave him a constant surrounding of love and affection. He grew up along side his sisters with very little fear and insurmountable amounts of curiosity. As they grew into hound adults his sisters and Eidus began to roam the pack grounds more and more frequently on their own. Unbeknownst to the small happy pack their lands were growing smaller and smaller.
As humans began to grow in their towns and cities, the lands of his pack slowly began to be pushed north. His family adapted easily enough but with no more pups coming their pack knew they would soon be in trouble as they dealt with winters that were becoming significantly worse. Eidus and his siblings tried their best to protect the older wolves from the ever more severe situation but in the end humanity won out.
During the fall of his third year Eidus was out on a hunt for his family when trackers who had been watching the pack moved to relocate the ever precariously position pack. He was tranquilized and taken by the humans to be moved originally to a wolf reservation. However a special interest group instead requested and paid for him to be instead taken across the ocean to an African zoo.
Now seperate from his family and terrified by the experience of being caged Eidus spent his long days and nights wondering what was to become of him. The humans moved him from the original holding over to a shipping container where he was then loaded aboard a large ocean transport vessel.
As he slowly adapted to the days and nights of the slowly rocking ship he grew more depressed and began to wish for it all to end. The loss of his family and the trauma of the move slowly wore away at him. As he sat silently one night wishing for the end the connex container he was in began to rock harder. He realized that the ship had begun to move quicker and more violently as time went on. As the waves picked up and the storm became worse Eidus found himself curled in a corner thinking that maybe just maybe his wish would finally come through.
A resounding bang terrified him as his tiny dark world shifted violently to one side. He tried to get a grip on the floor of the container but the smooth metal didnt give him much of a perch. The world around him was eerily still as he realized the motion had seemed to stop. But the peace was broken by a tremendous groan as he felt the metal world he lived in suddenly slide then drop.
The massive impact threw Eidus around like a doll as he tried to get some sort of bearing in this new terrifying world he found himself in. The container during the tumble had broken the hinge of the doors and were now open to the sea he found himself in. As the dark waters rushed in Eidus realized that the cage he had been in was now also broken. Taking what he believed to be his last desperate chance of freedom Eidus made a break for it.
After pushing out of the warped cage he immediately was swamped by the water in the container. He fought against the rush of the water pouring in till finally he pushed out into the storming seas. Able to swim to a degree Eidus fought to keep his head up against the waves. The storm still raged adding arcs of light and thunderous pounding to the chaos of the waters. As he was tissue from wave to wave Eidus finally realized what he saw in the distance. It had to have been the tip of land from all the white froth it was kicking up. Burning up the last of his energy Eidus fought his way towards the land. As he finally got to shore barely able to stand he decided to take stock of himself and his surroundings. This was a new land, he may never reach his home lands again but he was ever searching for some sign of their safety.
Personality: Eidus is inherently a curious wolf. With such an easy life growing up he was given plenty of chances to explore his original pack lands. His curiosity is however tempered by his calm patience that he inherited from his mother. An easy going wolf he enjoys meeting others both wolves and otherwise.
His patience lends to his slow temper. At times his almost apathetic tendencies to ignore anger can make him seem lazy or listless. However even Eidus has his own lines. His small family mattered deeply to him and the innocence of that area made him quick to trust and just as quick to defend those he considers friends or family. He will try to talk out before he fights or argues a point but is not above fighting for those he cares about.
His quick acceptance and curiosity makes him seem almost innocent at times but he has seen plenty enough in his short life to warn him away from true innocence. His mentality lately is strained though due the stress and waking nightmare of his time captured. He is slower to speak and still has nightmares of the events. However even in the midst of those events he still strives to keep his outlook in the positive direction striving to one day make a life of his own even if he never has a chance to find the fate of his family.
