The moon hung low in the midnight sky, glowing down through the thick foliage. The air was still and thick, a fog settling near the ground, covering the visibility of one's paws. Green pools surveyed the spaces in between the trees. Heavy brows furrowed with worry as tall ears pinned back defensively. The large male's neck hair stood on end, the fog and dark seeming to be stalking him, giving him an unsettling feeling. His silver pelt stuck out in his dark surroundings, his massive body anything but stealthy. Someone is watching you, Hailwind stepped quietly, his steady pace slowing down to an occasional movement after a long, hard look into the glaring darkness. They can see you but you can't see them. The brute flexed his large shoulder muscles, puffing his size up to seem intimidating.. to whatever was watching him. After his first encounter with one of the local wolves, Hailwind didn't think to trust any wolves he came across. Everyone wants you dead. If you don't watch your back, you'll get some fangs in it. Hailwind shifted his eyes to the side, turning his massive head slightly. What's out there?

The brown furred hunter known as Audas inspected the moon with his brown eyes, probing it's surface for every little detail he could see. Audas had often treated the moon as a constant companion during his time as a nomad, wandering North America and later Anikira. Even now, as a hunter of Airila, he still treated the moon as such.
Audas had taken the time to explore the forest further and to hunt. He had already caught prey in Shyia, but this was the first time he had proceeded to try it at night. He had found tracks and other clues, but was for once, unable to catch anything.
He could have easily have decided to stay out for longer, but he decided to call it in early. The pack would have likely began settling in for the night, including Nymph. Audas couldn't help but smile at the thought of seeing her again. Eager for that to happen, the grey wolf looked down, away from the silver moon, and began to jog towards the den.
The low lying fog and darkness didn't bother Audas, as he continued onwards.
A whiff of an unknown scent came in through the wolf's nose, causing him to grind to a halt. Audas had met some wolves in Airila already, and the others he could proberly tell by scent. However, this was a completely new scent he hadn't picked up before, certainly a wolf, but not one he was familiar with.
He knew he would have to investigate and see what was up. He wasn't sure why a loner or other wolf would be enter Shyia without declaring themselves to join. Audas himself did cut through Shyia once before he joined, but he stuck to the outskirts and the moment he hit the border of Canrus, he left.
Nevertheless, duty and the pack demanded he go and have a look. So, the hunter turned in the direction of the scent and followed it.
It wasn't long until he gained sight of the unknown wolf. Audas carefully settled into a small bush in front of the wolf and watched with care. The wolf was big, covered with silver coloured fur and processing green eyes. He moved at a standard pace, but seemed to be cautious, slowing down for brief moments and eyes constantly on alert. Audas had no idea what this wolf's intention was, perhaps he was lost? Or was it something else.
He had to find out. He couldn't simply wait for Toiro or someone else to arrive, he would have to sort it out himself.
Audas rose from his place in the bush and stepped in front of the wolf. He stood tall, but loose, this was typically his non-threatening or passive stance, whilst still showing his wariness. The hunter spoke with a calm and clear voice, "Greetings, whats your name? And what are you doing here?".
He tried his best to make himself less like an integrator and more of just someone asking a question, he would rather not let this escalate into a fight.

The mountain of canine fluffed as the scent of another wolf caught in his nostrils, startling his static mind. Now what? Fight or talk? Friendly or foe? The wolves in this area where unknown to the male, he hadn't met any of the scents he had so casually dismissed whilst strolling through obvious pack territory. He wasn't worried about them at all really, he was more worried about the darkness of night and the glare of the moon as it cursed him silently.
As the bright pelted wolf rose into sight before him, Hailwind sheathed his fangs and steadied his ruffled neck fur. He seemed casually cool, merely inquisitive.
"Greetings, whats your name? And what are you doing here?"
Hailwind flipped an ear back, offhandedly listening for any company he might have brought with him. "I am Hailwind, I am traveling," the brute gruffed, his posture dismissive yet non-provoking as he politely dropped his tail to a neutral level.
Pack life annoyed the beast this way, in its little rules that must be followed constantly. Hailwind only did this polite action to hopefully please this pack wolf, not wanting to insult his fellow canine and start a fight. A brawl wasn't on his to do list for the night, he hadn't enough moonlight to be wasting it tearing up fur and making a rukus.
Green pools studied the grey wolf before him, his brow at its constant state of furrow. Although the heavy drape of sadness lingered in his eyes, Hailwind's stern brow always sent a message of urgency, questioning the questioner.
"I may pass?" He inquired delicately, his rough voice short but easy. The silver wolf hoped this pack wolf wouldn't prove to be difficult, he didn't intend on aggressive confrontations tonight.
Do you want to leave? Why not stay here?
Hailwind continued to stare into the eyes of this pack wolf, determined to disagree with himself. I don't want to be one of them.
Yes you do, you need them. You are stupid and slow, you'll never survive out in the wilderness. This little journey you're on is a suicide! You're never going to find what you're looking for.
What am I looking for?
Her...

Audas watched as the brute flicked an ear at the formers question, as if listening for something else. The brown furred hunter did not intend to start a fight, being merely interested in what the grey furred wolf before him was doing.
"I am Hailwind, I am traveling,".
The voice wasn't threatening, but it was dismissive, as if the male just wanted to get out of the conversation. The green eyed wolf's behaviour wasn't perfect as an encounter, but at least he wasn't scolding Audas and the such. The pack wolf give Hailwind a once over look, 'He seems to be in a rush, trying to get somewhere or meet someone?'.
Hailwind pretty much confirmed to be passing through, with the sense of urgency being obvious on his brow. 'Certainly in some kind of rush' Audas concluded, but not before he noticed the green eyes of the large wolf, he couldn't tell what it was, but there was some emption there...
He couldn't tell. Either way, he had to reply, but with what? What would Toiro do in this instance? He could simply just let Hailwind go on ahead, but Audas had no idea where he would end up. It seemed appropriate to lay out the opitions.
"You could make your way to the border and follow it to where you want to get to, no one will bother you at Shyia's border, or I can take you straight across to where you need to go." Audas gave a nod of his head at Hailwind, "My name is Audas by the way, I'm surprised you went this far into Shyia, you didn't realise I suppose?".
Giving an inquisitive tilt of his head, Audas looked plainly at Hailwind, "So, what do you want to do? Go to the border or I can take you straight across."

The white she wolf moved stealthily through the forest, the glow from the grand full moon illuminating her snowy pelt. She was not hunting, nor was she even really moving with a purpose of any sort. She was simply going for a peaceful stroll. It was something that she used to do with her uncle. They would just walk and talk, no purpose behind it but to soak in the calming magic of the moon. However, ever since the fire, she hadn't been able to. Ever since she was claimed by her master, she was not allowed to move of her own free will. Even after she joined her pack, she was afraid to move too much for fear of her master picking up her scent. But, tonight was different. Not only was it the first full moon since she had joined Airila but it had also been a few days that she had been away from Zitao and she figured that if he hadn't found her yet, she had little to worry about. Maybe, she told herself hopefully, this was the start of a new beginning.
Anima had walked for a while before she picked up the faint scent of an unfamiliar male and the familiar scent of another pack wolf. She followed the trail curiously making sure to move quietly, not wanting to alert the males sense she was unsure of the strange male's intentions. If a fight was brewing, she didn't want to be involved. But, if a friendly conversation was taking place, she would not mind showing herself. Once she reached the end of trail, she gingerly stepped into the shadows, remaining hidden from both males. She watched and listened as they spoke, exchanging names and intentions. She could tell from her own experience that the newcomer was paranoid, if only slightly. She could also easily pick up on his indifferent demeanor. However, what she really didn't pick up on from either wolf was aggression. So, she knew she again had nothing to worry about. She silent steeped forward, back into the moons natural spotlight, her head and tail held in a relaxed posture as she nodded respectfully to her fellow pack mate. "Hello Audas, Hailwind," She spoke calmly and sweetly, looking over both males. "I'm Anima, I heard you two talking and thought I'd come see what was up, I hope I'm not intruding," she spoke in such a way that would let them know to feel free to tell her to leave if that was what they wanted.
The loner listened intently as the wolf spoke, suggesting ways for him to be on his way. Which was exactly what Hailwind wanted, not one to desire the company of others. Though, he felt torn. He didn't have a legitimate reason to his rushed behavior. He just wanted to keep going. The male would trek to the end of the horizon and still feel as empty and unfulfilled as he had to start with. In his heart he yearned for the comfort of family.
Hailwind blinked, focusing his mind on the question at hand. Where are you going? To Shyia's border or straight through? You don't need to trouble this male with your vacuous blundering. Leave him be. He thought the best response for the both of them would be to slink off to the border, the quickest way out of this gauche encounter.
"My name is Audas by the way, I'm surprised you went this far into Shyia, you didn't realise I suppose?"
Finding it difficult to retain himself, Hailwind let out a small, involuntary scoff in response to the other wolf. The grey male tensed his shoulders, clearing his throat in an attempt to brush off his annoyance. "I realized," he said simply, standing up straight to his full height.
"So, what do you want to do? Go to the border or I can take you straight across."
Hailwind lifted his massive head, cracking his jaw open to reply, when yet another wolf joined the assembly. Of course, this one must have been making those soft noises earlier! The newcomer was obviously female from the scent that wafted toward Hailwind only after she'd come out from the brush. He scanned the she-wolf, impressed with her white pelt, shining in the moonlight before them. Luckily, she didn't seem hostile, her posture was calm much like the other pack wolf.
"Hello Audas, Hailwind. I'm Anima, I heard you two talking and thought I'd come see what was up, I hope I'm not intruding."
With a small twitch of his brow, once again Hailwind stifled his emotion in a guestly manner. This she-wolf had been eavesdropping on the two male's conversation and expected him to not respond in a defensive manner? Rip her throat out. Hailwind loosened his face in shock to his own thoughts. Pushing the horrific malicious thought aside, he looked to Audas for a response to this Anima, respectfully remaining quiet.
Hollow had been traveling for quite some time now. He was still exhausted from his long swim, the time he had spent Lani. Everything had begun to blur together. Hollow had yet to decide whether or not this was truly the paradise he had heard of, or if he had been deceived. Lani had been welcoming, albeit a bit prickly. As had Swan, even if it had been through her naivety . Hollow scented multiple wolves this time however and despite his misgivings he trod forward afraid of what he would find yet eager to discover it. He moved, a silent shadow, slowly approaching, tasting the wind deciding on whether or not these were pack wolves or not. After some investigation via his nostrils, he decided they weren't all of a pack. But that was no need to not be cautious. The dark male knew all to well the prejudice that may accompany his presence. He had missed most of the conversation that had been happening thus far and yet still he felt they would catch his scent.
Best to go ahead and announce myself, he thought silently, so with much hesitation he approached. "Hello, My name is Hollow, I'm sorry if I am intruding but I'm still very new here, and none too familiar with this place... may I ask any of you who you are?" Uncomfortably he waited on a response from any of the strange wolves he had approached, whilst simultaneously poising himself to run if need be.
His head and tail were held neutral but his gaze aware. He was sharp yet non threatening, carefully calculating all of the wolves surrounding him, two males and a female. All but one smelled of pack. As much as he wanted to run from this encounter he kept himself still, and silent. In order not to startle anyone. His face was a mask, no emotion showed save for his eyes, with the ring of green glinting in the moonlight. His eyes showed his apprehensiveness, at the situation, he was tense this time heeding Lani's words of caution for any wolves he did not know. So Hollow waited for response.... from anyone.
OOC: Soooooo sorry I took so long I have been stupid busy.
Audas patiently waited for Hailwind's own reply, nevertheless being all too aware of the stranger wolf's twitchiness. The two wolves haven't got into any kind of fight, which he considered a good thing, but he nevertheless still didn't want to push it. Hailwind soon replied, stating that he did realise that he went into pack territory. That made the brown furred hunter think a little bit, why was Hailwind traveling through Shyia then? He quite clearly knew, maybe he simply wanted to take a short cut? Or was it something else? He could be scouting for another pack for all he knew.
The hunter had, due to focusing on the big, grey wolf, had failed to notice the more familiar wolf appear off to one side. "Hello Audas, Hailwind," came a voice, Audas turned his head to face the newcomer, just to see a furry white female that just appeared, the grey wolf, now tasting the air with his nose, quickly identified the wolf was part of the pack, but almost fell into the trap of thinking the wolf was Nymph, due to the similar appearances of the two wolves, but the voice and scent alone was enough to confirm the truth about the wolf's identity.
After the she wolf explained her appearance, Audas glanced at Hailwind, who was respectfully waiting for Audas to make the first move. The brown furred male turned back to the fellow pack member, "Anima, good to see you. You just heading back in for the night?". Audas was glad to see a friendly face, he had only seen the other pack members a handful of times, and hoped to get to know them all better. Airilla was like a family after all.
Before long though, Audas quickly caught another scent. Breathing it in, he didn't recognise it, was it someone who was with Hailwind? Or someone else? The grey wolf turned towards the scent to see another wolf, this time a black furred one, emerge from the shadows."Hello, My name is Hollow, I'm sorry if I am intruding but I'm still very new here, and none too familiar with this place... may I ask any of you who you are?". Audas felt the situation beginning to get more complicated.
'This is why wolves like Toiro are in charge and wolves like me shouldn't be.' thought the hunter. Audas may have been just a hunter, but with no beta (as far as he noticed), and no leaders or shamans out side of Toiro, who was obviously the Alpha, Audas ranked higher than most members of the pack with Nymph being comparable as a healer, which made him and perhaps Nymph the closest thing to an unofficial second in command, a fact Audas wasn't happy with, he was no leader, at least, he didn't want to lead, he would outright reject such offers.
But, returning to the present, Audas focused on Hollow, the newcomer. "Well, good to meet you Hollow, I'm Audas, this is Anima, and that's Hailwind.", the male proceeded to nod in the direction of the two wolves as he mentioned their names. "Well, you have just wandered into Shyia, which is Airilla's territory.". He gave a respectful look to Hollow as he inspected the male, who was in a neutral stance, but still aware. "Don't worry about it though, we can get you back to the border or whatever territory you like that borders us", explained Audas, giving a brief smile to show his honesty.
Word Count: 617 (approx) OOC: Sorry for the late reply, with some luck, this should be the start of a lot of quicker responses!
With winter and breeding season in full swing and three males surrounding her, the white she wolf had to take a deep and steadying breath to keep her thoughts calm and on the current situation. She had two new and unfamiliar wolves in front of her and she knew from her alpha training that despite what was said from them, she needed to keep her guard up. It wasn't too uncommon for a wolf to say one thing and do another. However, even keeping her guard up, she could still be friendly. "Yep, you guessed it," she spoke in a light voice, nodding. Even though she hadn't gotten to know him well yet, Anima was fond of the other wolf. From what she had heard, he was a good hunter and tended to stick to himself. She made a mental note to herself to get to know him better.
She was about to speak to the newest wolf when Audas beat her to it. However, sensing the fact the black wolf was still tense and apprehensive, she moved over to him with a friendly nod. "It's very nice to meet Hollow, like Audas said, I'm Anima, one of Airila's subordinates. I hope to move up to at least a hunter one of these days, which is what Audas is," she spoke with ease, hoping to start a conversation to ease the other's nerves. It was fairly easy for her to take control over situations like this given all the training she had when she was younger. "If you'd like, I can walk with you out of our lands or even better, I can show you around and tell you about our pack so that you'll hopefully decide to join and I can take you to our alpha."
Although she remained next to the black wolf, Anima's attention turned to Hailwind who had remained silent. "The same goes for you Hailwind, Audas or myself can escort you to whatever territory you'd like to go to or you can stick around and one of us can tell you about our pack, the decision is yours."
"Anima, good to see you. You just heading back in for the night?" Hailwind's shoulder muscles relaxed as Audas responded, relieving the uncomfortable tensity he felt being caught in between the conversation. Though he knew he could have responded, the burly wolf refused to interact with this she-wolf.
He didn't want to even look at her, not that there was anything personal about his resentment toward her. He just chose to avoid females whenever possible. She-wolves made his thoughts louder, even worse than they already were.
"Yep, you guessed it." Her light, fluffy voice was like claws scraping down a stone wall to his ears. So cheery, so innocent. Ignorant to the miracle of her precious life. It would be so easy to tear the tender flesh from her bones..
The grey wolf didn't want to listen to the chilling echo of his thoughts. He wished they would be silent, he loathed the dark mocking demeanor that slithered in his mind.
You need to kill. You need to feel the warm ooze of blood between your fangs and taste the salt of death. You are weak and dense, thinking your reality is just a winding trail for you to mindlessly trek down and find your happy ending at the epilogue? No, you must find your joy in the pain of others, only their squeals of plea will satisfy the lust you crave, the hole you bury with invisible dirt.
As the dark pelted male emerged on the scene, Hailwind's sight wavered from Anima, locking on his nervous form, tearing his attention away from the others. "Hello, My name is Hollow." The black wolf seemed jittery but friendly, as if lost.
Hailwind's deep green gaze bore into Hollow's reflective, suppressed stare. Pathetic whelp, looks like he's ready to jump out of his skin the moment you ruffle your neck fur!
Hailwind flattened an ear back in irritation, wishing his mind would empty itself. Despite the hateful comment, Hailwind felt a sort of sympathy toward Hollow.
"I'm sorry if I am intruding but I'm still very new here, and none too familiar with this place... may I ask any of you who you are?"Surrounded by pack wolves and an intruding stranger, how tense and awkward he must of felt.
"Well, good to meet you Hollow, I'm Audas, this is Anima, and that's Hailwind." The brown wolf snapped Hailwind's attention with his sudden friendly bark. "Well, you have just wandered into Shyia, which is Airilla's territory." Hailwind wondered why Hollow had wandered into this territory as well. It seemed like an unbelievable coincidence that the two of them wound up here.
"Don't worry about it though, we can get you back to the border or whatever territory you like that borders us." Hailwind felt considerable respect for Audas, his honest smile seemed to prove the hunter was genuinely trying to be helpful and not just ushering the riff raff out of bounds.
"It's very nice to meet you Hollow." The silver loner bobbed his head back to the white she-wolf, his vision a bit dizzy from moving from one wolf to the next now. He listened silently, watching her as she drew nearer to Hollow in an attempt to create a closer, more comfortable conversation.
"If you'd like, I can walk with you out of our lands or even better, I can show you around and tell you about our pack so that you'll hopefully decide to join and I can take you to our alpha."
A tightness hugged Hailwind's chest, an unfamiliar feeling of angry, burning hate. She's a siren. The need to retreat into the shadows overwhelmed him but he also felt an urge to shelter Hollow from the she-wolf.
He didn't understand why he wanted to protect Hollow, he didn't have any connections to the other loner. He was confused, in fact, why he thought he was protecting him period. It wasn't any of his business what Hollow did and it wasn't his say whether he socialized with Anima either.
Attempting to slink past the two, ignoring the sparks in his chest, Hailwind closed the gap between Audas and himself. The brute focused a fading glare on Audas, trying to muster a friendly aura as he began, yet again, to ask him to accompany him to the border.
But before he could manage the first word, Anima returned her attention to him. "The same goes for you Hailwind, Audas or myself can escort you to whatever territory you'd like to go to or you can stick around and one of us can tell you about our pack, the decision is yours."Get out or kill her, quit wasting time.
He glanced from Audas to Anima, his face swollen with raw irritation. He hated the thought of even acknowledging her, afraid he'd snap in an instant. So, he answered her by instead addressing Audas. "I wish to head East." The Valley wolf said, the words forced through his teeth. He lightened his eyes, not wanting to offend Audas with the misdirected anger.
Hailwind glanced back at Hollow, furrowing his brow as a twinge of regret threatened to invade his conscience. "And you, Hollow?" He added simply with a twitch of his long haired tail, his voice a low boom, like thunder rising from his throat.
The beast clenched the ground under his paw once, anticipating the dark wolf's reply. Just as well he doesn't go, you don't need the coward. The grey male wanted to crush the voice in his head between his jaws. The look on Hollow's face cried for help, wanted to belong.
Hailwind couldn't let this white she-wolf take him into her pack, he felt they were destined to continue through the lands together. Perhaps they would break off later, but Hailwind ached for a companion as he traveled on. Not someone to converse with maybe, just reassuring company. Someone to fend off the dark side of Hailwind, someone to confide in without a word.
OOC: 998 words. Almost! Well, that took a few breaks to get through lol Hope it wasn't too messy-descriptive. I tried to not go rambling but I think I might have. Anyway, there it is. :3

Tension cracked across the air in between Hollow's ears, his skin burned beneath his coat. The black coat felt one hundred degrees hotter than it should have. Embarrassment, something he had felt often when traveling with his parents, embarrassed of his existence which seemed to anger others, all the timidness he had. But along with the embarrassment came irritation. Irritation at being lost in his own thoughts so far as to foolishly stumble upon this meeting of wolves and be completely off guard. Hollow shook his head and with a respectful nod took a step away from Anima. The gesture had been kind but his lapse was over and he was more aware now. Taking in the situation as objectively as he could.
Things were obviously not as good as they could have been seeing has he had stumbled onto pack territory and was now faced with other wolves that he did not know. They all seemed friendly enough but he could still feel the underlying tension between the four of them. He listened intently to what the others had to say, various forms of greeting, an offer to join the pack who's territory he was on, and an offer to be escorted off of pack territory. Even if he was trespassing he still felt welcome which in his mind wasn't necessarily the very best thing to be when running on another pack's lands. Inviting hosts often attracted parasites and vagrants.
Hollow met the eyes of each wolf briefly, merely to acknowledge them and spoke again, much more strongly this time, with some actual confidence rather than fear and confusion. Regardless of the fact that he still felt very tense in this situation. "Sorry for my intrusion by the way, I must have been lost in thought. I'll just be escorted away with Hailwind if you wouldn't mind, I've not yet decided on where it is I'm going." Though Hailwind may be leery of him, he could at least get away from pack territory, then if the meeting turned south it would only be one on one. Which helped Hollow's nerves a bit.
Audas watched with interest as Anima introduced herself to Hollow with a friendly nod, moving a little closer as she did so, Hollow seemed to shake his head for a moment, but then gave a respectful nod and took a step back. The brown furred hunter couldn't help but feel sympathetic with the black furred wolf, he seemed rather cautious, nervous even. The brown wolf soon, as if some sixth sense had tingled, turned his head slightly towards Hailwind, who was staring at the white furred pack member and the newcomer with intent.
As Amina proceeded to offer to either show Hollow out of Shyia or show the nervous wolf around, Hailwind turned away and tried to move closer to Audas, a glare on his face, but one that was trying to vanish. Just the look alone, and only supplemented by his stare at the other two wolves gave Audas a few suspicions, was Hailwind trying to leave? What did he think of the wolves around him?
The grey furred wolf seemed ready to ask a question, when Anima had turned to the male, "The same goes for you Hailwind, Audas or myself can escort you to whatever territory you'd like to go to or you can stick around and one of us can tell you about our pack, the decision is yours.". Audas couldn't help but ponder the ease it took for Anima to take control of the situation, and made a mental note of it. What really got the hunter's rather suspicious interest was Hailwind, who's face seemed to be filled with irritation, supposedly at Anima's question. Hailwind turned his big head back round to Audas, "I wish to head East.", speaking with force, but he did seem to be trying to not look non-aggressive by the look of his eyes.
'What's his issue with her?' pondered the male, 'What's going on his mind?'. Audas had no answers to his questions though, Hailwind was an enigma, like his dark cousin Kaine, but unlike him, who would happily monologue his entire plan if it didn't go down the drain afterwards, Hail was trying to bottle something up. What was it though?
Thinking of Kaine, Audas knew at some point he would have to go looking for him, Kaine was the one who both revealed the brown hunter's past to Nymph and, unwittingly brought the two together. Or was it wittingly? Either way, he needed to know what Kaine's game was.
Hailwind's question brought Audas back his senses, as he asked what Hollow was going to do. Who confirmed he would be escorted away with Hailwind. Audas gave a careful glance over the two, searching for any clues on their faces, but found none. "Very well, I will guide you both to the border. Shall we get going?" Audas turned his body towards the direction if travel, and looked over his shoulder at Hailwind and Hollow.
Well, his chance to see Nymph will just have to wait for a little longer.
Even though Anima had high hopes that at least one, if not both of the new wolves would stick around to see the lands of her pack and possibly join, she doubted they would. It was beyond clear that Hailwind was not only uncomfortable but by the looks of it, he was not a fan of the she wolf. While she noticed his tense posture and blank looks, she tried to act like she hadn’t noticed and told herself not to take it personally. She had, after all, walked in on a conversation that she knew little about and so his anger may not have actually been aimed at her. But even if it was, it wouldn’t be the first time she had been around wolves that weren’t fond of her. The other wolf, Hollow, seemed a little less harsh but just as hesitant and shy. That was exactly why she wasn’t surprised when they both said they would be escorted out with her pack mate, Audas.
The white wolf couldn’t help but frown at the way Hailwind answered her. There was a difference in turning down and answer and being rude and she couldn’t help but find his actions a little on the offensive side. Although, just as before, she pretended like she didn’t notice anything weird and simply nodded with a simple, “Very well.” With an inaudible sigh, she turned her attention to the pack’s hunter, her posture relaxing as she did. “If Toiro asks where you are I will let him know you went to escort them out and will be back shortly,” she nodded and made a mental note to find him again once he returned so they could talk on a less tense note. She waited just long enough to see if any of the other wolves had anything else to say before she nodded a respectful fair well and turned to walk back into the dense cover of the woods. Ooc: Soooo sorry this took me so long, not sure if y’all are done with the thread or not so I went ahead and made this her exit thread.
Hollow was watching this exchange now with a much stronger head on his shoulders after composing himself. It seemed as though Hailwind was hiding something, though what it was the dark male could not tell. It seemed dark but it was none of his business, still the looks that flashed across Hailwind's face made him wonder. What could be so bad that it would make one's face express such distaste. Hollow knew little of those types of inner thoughts, only of fear, and white hot searing anger at his own weakness. Until this point, which oddly enough the feelings seemed to dissipate with every encounter he had. He found he was developing a natural strength, or pride, he was unsure for whatever it was remained to be seen, but he felt as though he was becoming more of the wolf he always dreamed of being.
He readied himself to set off, once more shaking himself, this time however it was only to dislodge an errant leaf that had settled behind his left ear. Each paw planted in a slightly wider stance and his head rose to a height that was still respectful yet a little stronger than his previous submissive stance. He flexed his muscles with just a hint of excitement that was strong enough to belie his youth. "So, east it is, I say lets go ahead and move before we start losing daylight!" He spoke just a little more cheerily than he had before, after all, he wasn't dead so that was a plus. After they had made their way to somewhere were He and Hailwind would be alone that could turn to another story. The young male decided he would just deal with that if it were to happen.
He was relaxing more and finally taking in all of his surroundings as opposed to just the other wolves and escape routes before a voice seemed to speak in his head. If Hailwind tries to kill you, I guess you will just have to incapacitate him. A split moment of masked shock crossed his face, which he turned abruptly to the east, feigning as if he were tasting the air. He knew he was not the murderous type, but he remembered Lani, and decided then and there that he would make it to her whatever the cost. For that spark of life he had found in meeting her had enticed him to know more about her, to spend time with her.
The moon loomed down on the conversing wolves, setting Hailwind's mind off into deep thought as he drowned out the others. How many times had the moon watched over him as he made this journey? He couldn't even recount. The days had blurred without track. Every moment was a struggle to survive, a puzzle to solve, a problem to face. Food, water, shelter. What was it worth? Standing here, in front of the strange wolves, whom he had long ago decided were merely pebbles, scuffed by weary paws to the side of his long, winding trail of life.
Nothing mattered. Was there even any point to himself anymore? Had the traveler unwittingly become a distant character in his own story? There wasn't any gravity to hold the brute back from drifting away anymore. Hunger didn't drive him. Pain wasn't enough to keep him awake. What was the meaning of his struggle to continue?
Emerald pools drifted lazily between the wolves in front of him. He didn't want to be with them anymore. He wanted to run. Run, right past them and not stop. Just keep running to the end of the lands and scream out to the vastness of the ocean. WHY AM I SO ALONE??? A thought clicked in the back of his mind, chinking with trouble as it developed into a more complex, conclusion. I am alone.
The massive male shuddered slightly, his thick muscles rippling as his body linked with his mind. Hailwind blinked, his ears only suddenly catching Hollow's light words as the dark wolf readied himself to leave. It was time. Hailwind gave the other wolves a quick nod, his gaze lingering on the black male before turning slowly to the east, taking lead while still waiting for Audas to catch up.
