I motion that the map of Anikira be updated since the current map does not include the territories of Aveline or Aleru. I also suggest that pack territories be included.
To take this off of the staff's shoulders I would personally take on the responsibility (and love it, please). I would not change things around too much. I would also provide detailed territory maps. I would of course provide a black and white outline for the staff to approve.
First release of what the map/territories would look like. As you can see Ina'mos island isn't included, but that is part of my Tas' alea section - which will be added for group approval later.
I second the motion. The fact that Aleru and Aveline are not on the map is something I would like changed. I always forget they're actually supposed to be there. I also really like the idea of each region having a more in depth map. I think it would help us get our bearings to better understand how things relate to each other. Having the pack boundaries included is a great idea, one I myself hadn't thought of. As long as the map isn't drastically changed, but improved, I think this is a great idea.
I would also like this. Sometimes it is hard to really tell where pack boundaries are on there and where exactly some sub territories are located in each region.
Will color be added to the map and done up like the previous one was? Because I find it very helpful and liked the way the terrain was colored like that. I know this is only the first draft but I was just hoping to get some clarification. If it wasn't, could that be done?

Vickie, yes it will be colored and very pretty... You're correct, it is a rough draft. I want staff approval before I go any further and spend any more of my time and effort on it. ^.^
Lol this is one of the things we talked about in the cbox. I know she plans to put a line showing Aleru boundaries, but I can't wait to see what her individual map of underground Aleru looks like.

I'm actually going to make an Underground Map which will show the Kiaou Mines, the Virak Cavern system and Aleru of course. I think I will also add Aleru with a dotted line.
Is there a reason why Acerbus has a pointy bit sticking out towards the Oriens? Couldn't that part just be made part of Kamari?
A lot of members make their wolves native to Anikira, meaning they have/had families or packs in the loner lands. Some specifically mention that they are native to the north, which can only really mean Caurus as both Shyia and Tiayr have been claimed by a major pack for a substantial part of their history. So basically I'm asking if Caurus could be made bigger to accommodate the small NPC packs which apparently live there.
Also, in the past, Zakur (a pack which used to reside in the Oriens) additionally laid claim to Tiayr, which required the two lands to be touching. So people have played their wolves crossing directly from the Oriens to Tiayr. They wouldn't necessarily have to share a large section of border like in the old map, but it might be worth considering extending one or both territories along the coast so that they touch.
Apart from that I think it looks great so far. Looking forward to seeing the final product ^^

First things first. Some people have told me that they are unable to see the labels on each of the territories... I think that is because those people were viewing it from a different skin, therefore I have changed the color of the text to black from white so hopefully now everyone can see.

There is no particular reason why there is that bit of extended land, aside from I personally don't like the look of square or round territories. I like them to feel as real as possible and wolves, in the real world, don't create perfectly shaped or quartered off territories. Other than that reason, there is nothing in the description of Acerbus that says there is that bit of elongated territory.

I understand where you are coming from Jay. I always feel silly when I create a character, or see a newly created character that is born from a couple of loners or, more so, born into a pack that claimed territory on Anikira that never actually existed. This scenario is very common, and it is never really put to question because we all understand that where the character is going is more important than where they began... With that being said, as far as I know, Shyia is the only territory which has been ruled by a pack nearly since the territories creation back in 2010...2009? Other packs have staked a claim on Tiayr, beginning with the Gypsies, but never for an extended period of time, leaving room to believe that in fact another group could have lived there at any given time. And I know the map doesn't really show it at the moment, but the way I figure it, Anikira is roughly 9,000 square miles, that means Caurus alone is about 360 square miles. Take into considering the smallest recorded grey wolf pack territory was 13 square miles, Caurus in theory could hold 27 neighboring small packs. I think it's big enough to hold any and all of the unofficial packs of Anikira's members. Bazinga. ^.~ <3
To all concerns regarding Tiayr and The Oriens no longer sharing a boundary line: I created this map with the original map (which means, the map before the current map posted) and territory layout in mind. When Shyia and Tiayr were originally added to Anikira, Tiayr and The Oriens were separated by Kamari.
Another reason I made each territory touch the coastline, was so that a wolf could "wash up" on the shores of any territory of Anikira, without having to travel through another territory to get to the members desired pack land, if they so wished...
Although, if there is an overwhelming member response to adjust the territory lines, by all means, that is possible.
Just one thing, Miss Nova (: I love the map first draft, but it still doesn't have Aleru, but it does include Aveline. Just thought that I'd point that out. It's truly lovely, though
She mentioned above that this was only a rough draft so that the map can be approved before moving forward. Tre is going to be adding a dotted line for Aleru boundaries and there will be a separate map showing Aleru in depth.
I know I'm late on commenting, but really nice job on this, Tre. I personally love the way it looks, and if we're imagining Ani off the coast of East Africa (though I personally imagine it closer to India for the more temperate climate), I like that it's long rather than wide.
Which might be another cool thing to do- just in a tiny corner piece of the final map, showing the scale of Ani to it's nearest continent and really deciding where it's located in relation to existing continents. I'm not sure if that's something that has been done.
If you need any help coloring or anything, I'm just a PM away!
