"Thank you for your kindness," Emerald smiled as the mixed breed brute promised to remain nearby.
Talking this comfortably with someone was something that the cloud-coloured femme had not achieved since... Since Leaf. But instead of feeling guilt for replacing her best friend, there was a feeling that was almost unknown to the older wolf... Content. She felt calm and relaxed, a feeling that was very rare in the pale fae's life.
They were coming towards the edge of the plains.
Suddenly, Emerald became hesitant to leave Kenai, and considered asking him to join Valyn. 'No, silly. That's very far-fetched. I should just bid goodbye.'
"Well... It has been nice meeting you, Kenai. See you soon, friend?" the Valyn she-wolf said. Her voice had adopted a formal tone, addressing Kenai as if she was an alpha sorting out pack business, but her pitch was still warm and friendly. "I do hope that we will meet again some day," she added, subtly simpering.
During their little gathering, Emerald had noticed how Kenai had seemed to care for her and her family and how... graciously he acted around females. It was strange, something that Emerald had never seen in any other wolves. But she loved it, and was happy that there was someone who treasured life in this world where life was short and family was precious.
The coy femme wondered if Kenai had any offspring of his own. Did he have any kin, family, or relatives to call his own? Or did they all fade away, just like Emerald's own had? The multi-hued male was still quite young compared to Emerald, but he seemed to have been through just as much as Emerald had.

Sorry! It's really rubbish, but I'm kind of museless here. I guess that we can conclude it here unless if you have something that you want to say?
