Typhon, having grown bored of the den site and the surrounding areas, had wandered through the pack lands and found himself in a brand new area, accompanied by the roar of a waterfall. The cliff face he walked at the bottom of was sheer, but presumably climbable; Typhon wouldn't dare attempt such a dangerous feat as a fledgling, but it was a dream of his to be able to scale the rocks as soon as he thought he could. For now, he was content to roam the lush greenery below it, as well as watch the waterfall crash into its basin.
There was not much out here besides water and trees, though, and so his mind was not very stimulated. He wanted to be learning more, seeing more, doing more, always, and his little brain was not being overwhelmed with new information, so he was still bored. Why was it so hard to find new things when the world was so huge? There should be boundless opportunities for exploration, and yet even new areas were not stimulating enough to the young wolf. "I hope the Agoge isn't boring, too. Though I don't really want to spend a lot of time with my brothers and sisters," he muttered out loud to himself, frowning up at the sky as the sun began to sink below the horizon. Typhon shivered, a movement that had nothing to do with the cold, and frowned lightly as a presence came to him, not physically, but mentally.
Young Typhon, you must learn to accept that not everything will go your way, came the now-familiar voice, echoing throughout the male's brain, inescapable and strong. It was a voice he had heard since he learned to talk, though it had not been mean to him until recently. You waste energy to get to new places, yet you are not pleased with them once you get there. Find something worth your time instead. Typhon rolled his green eyes, knowing that the voice could not see, and continued to wander aimlessly throughout the valley, determined not to engage the voice.
It had other plans, however, and stopped him in his tracks--quite literally. The young wolf nearly toppled forward as his paws appeared to be stuck to the ground, and he growled softly in displeasure. 'I can do whatever I want. Goliath is my father and he rules all this land because of you. Why would you stop me exploring?' the young wolf demanded rudely, scowling at the air before him. The only response was a rough laugh, and suddenly Typhon was able to move again. Knowing it wouldn't help, Typhon kicked himself into gear and ran away from the spot he had been stuck, as if he could outrun the voice that haunted him.
After a few moments of pointless running, the adolescent slowed down, having gotten a bit away from the waterfall but still able to hear it, and a wolfish scent hit his nose, one he had smelled before but could not place. He frowned and turned toward it, heading around to a patch of brush that seemed to conceal the creature he had smelled. With delicate paws he moved forward, creeping along slowly, almost silently, determined not to give away his position to whoever it was laying down behind the bushes. It was a masculine scent, which excited Typhon more than a feminine scent would; perhaps a male would be of use to him, whereas any female was likely to try and send him back home, where it was 'safe.'
A dark wolf came into view, presumably sleeping in the isolated circle of greenery, though how he slept with the noise of the waterfall was beyond him. His face was away from Typhon, and his body was massive, though many of the wolves in Kairos were oversized, he was told. Still unsure of who the wolf was, the young pup crouched down and continued to approach stealthily, though it was likely he was not being as silent as he thought. Perhaps he could approach and frighten the much larger male, if only to earn himself a laugh. Readying his muscles, the young wolf came into range, crouched lower, and sprung himself forward on his hind legs, aiming directly at the other wolf's tail and rear end.
