History: Journey began her life as many other wolves did--born on Anikira to loving parents with incredible siblings, she flourished within the pack and quickly adapted to her life as a lupine. Her father was, of course, her favorite family member, and she quickly grew to love and admire him, so much so that she became determined to mold herself after him. At the young age of six months, her dreams of learning from her father were destroyed; he had been attacked and killed by a native jaguar, and Journey mourned him for several weeks before she was able to pull herself together again, with the help of her three close siblings. They grew to protect each other--at least, Summit and Journey protected Cascade and Melody.
Tenacity and determination allowed Journey to regain her desire to become a fierce warrior, and over the next year and a half, she honed her skills and became an adept hunter and fighter, constantly challenging herself to use her skills to their full extent, even if it wasn't strictly necessary. Just when she was reaching the peak of her training, her mother disappeared and not a single wolf from their pack knew what had happened, so the siblings assumed the worst. Shortly thereafter, a sickness overcame their lands, and wolves began to die, slowly and painfully, with no hope of a cure. After the death of her smaller sister Melody, Journey made up her mind that they should leave; shortly after their alpha died as well, Journey, Cascade, and Summit set out alone to begin their lives as orphans; they had to leave their pack behind if they were going to keep what was left of their family together.
That too, however, was only a dream, one that would end with the coming of their third birthday. Journey had run off ahead of her siblings, intent on finding a more constant source of water--particularly, a river they could follow--and, luckily, she found it. However, as she approached the swiftly-moving water to taste it, she spotted something she could not pass up: a young deer, barely past its spots, and completely unsuspecting.
Without a second's hesitation, Journey lunged into a sprint and chased the young animal, darting this way and that in an attempt to keep away from the predator who was steadily gaining on it. Before she could complete the hunt, however, a stranger crossed their path, causing Journey to skid to a halt while her quarry darted off, forgotten. Before her stood another wolf, one clearly of a different lineage than she and only slightly smaller, with a beautiful striped coat and icy blue eyes. Those blue orbs settled on Journey's green ones and suddenly she was lost, unable to turn away or move a muscle. It was the beginning of a perfect and beautiful friendship that often felt much closer than it might have seemed. From that moment on, Journey knew she would do anything this wolf asked of her.
Sunny, that gorgeous creature who had stopped Journey in her tracks, was not the best of influences; in the year they spent together, the white female learned the bad habits of stealing, lying, and sometimes breaking hearts. It wasn't often that a male felt the need to pursue her, but when he did, Journey would leave her female companion to her own devices while she toyed with her hoping suitor, getting what information or hospitality she needed before abandoning him as easily as she had abandoned her former life. It was Sunny who had her heart, always, and she would never give it to anyone else.
Unfortunately, life had other plans for the two wolves. A rogue traveling pack assaulted the two out of nowhere one day, separating the two lovers and imprisoning them among their ranks. Journey, as an accomplished fighter, bided her time for two days before making her escape, easily overpowering her captors when they were caught off-guard. She was weak from not eating or drinking, however, and unable to force herself to go back and save Sunny; her companion would simply have to get away on her own, or die trying.
Distraught, the female got as far from the area as she could before breaking down completely, at a loss of what to do without her dear Sunny; the only thing she could do was assume the poor girl dead, and thus move along with her own life. It wasn't long before she found Ananke, a small pack created by a group of wolves that Journey could have given birth to herself--except that they were literal giants despite their young age. Regardless of their inexperience, the female was ready to settle down and find her place in a family again, and when they accepted her with open arms, she embraced them back fiercely. They gave her a place of honor defending the pack, and she settled in to a life she had long since forgotten.
Personality: From birth, it seemed, Journey wanted nothing more than to be like her father. He was strong, a great warrior, and infallible in her eyes; even when he did fall, she continued to train as though he were teaching her, sparring with Summit at times and challenging herself at others. She could predict the outcome of a fight seconds after it started, and rarely was she on the losing end when her quick wit combined with her size, speed, and strength. This mindset she has kept sharp throughout the years, and her skills seem only to get better as the years roll by.
Loyalty as well is a huge portion of her personality, though the wolves she became close to in her past seemed not to last very long. First her family was lost, then Sunny; it caused a bitterness to grow in her heart, but did not deter her from trying to fit in and become close with her new pack. Journey would not give her heart to anyone ever again--Sunny was the only wolf for her--but she formed new friendships without fear. Just because she had bad luck in the past did not mean she should seclude herself from others in order to avoid hurting them.
Journey does have a bit of a sharp tongue, but she is respectful when necessary, prefers kindness to conflict, and is not afraid to stand up for herself or anyone else. Any wolf who is weaker than her and needs help will have it, so long as they treat her fairly, though she will try first to reason with whomever is attempting to harm an innocent. However, if someone were to threaten or harm a pup--whether they have done something wrong or not--Journey will not hesitate to attack with a fierce and furious mindset. She firmly believes that the youth is the future, and will not tolerate mistreatment of them for even a second.
