History: It seemed that Kinley would universally always be late. She was conceived late, born late and continued to be late to pretty much everything ever since. The story of her parents was a pretty simple one. Her mother Meridith was a young and naive female. She lived in a small unit which travelled frequantly, consisting of her father, mother and older sister. Kinleys father was an older male, a loner with unusal eyes that went by the name of Tyris. The relationship between her parents was short and perhaps only one sided. Tyris was fond of the female he had seduced with promises they both knew he wouldn't be able to keep but Meridith was wholey in love with him. He travelled with the family unit for a few weeks after she fell pregnant, but typical to his nature he drifted away before she gave birth. Heartbroken, Meridith only kept going because of her parents and sister, and later on because of Kinley herself.
There were only two pups born to her mother, Kinley being the only one to survive to their first dawn. From the beginning she was a precious thing, with her odd marking and later when her eyes opened, they were the same green blue of the father she would never meet. Her life was good, without complication and filled with people she loved. Her family taught her how to survive, to hunt and gather. Her grandmother saw how quick she was to learn, especially when it came to different plants and there uses. The fact that they travelled a lot meant that she saw firsthand what her grandmother wished her to know. She was not accustomed to staying in one place, often wandering of on her own, finding beautiful secret places. Her tracking abilities meant that at least if she was late to meet her family, she could always find them. Something that happened frequently.
She sometimes happened across others and always treated them kindly, even if she did not get the same in return. Perhaps she was too much a child at heart. Eventually it would be her universal lateness that saved her life. It was like it always was, she had wandered off, taking a trail to a cliff face topped with a waterfall. The view was spectacular and she ended up spending more time there than she had planned. When it came to finding her family again, all she found was blood and scattered prints. Further on she found the body of her mother and decided against searching any more. It was her first taste of the brutality of the world, a cold harsh lesson of the cruelty others could inflict upon a person. It hurt, the pain of it, but she didn't let it change her as others would. Instead, she gave herself time to process and then moved on, travelling as she always had, this time by herself.
Somehow the loneliness never bothered her, though she wasn't always on her own. Having to survive alone toughened her up more than anything else could off. And life went on.
Personality: Kinley is a gentle soul, kind to the core and somehow able to see beauty in everything. Sometimes the hardest and bravest thing to do is to continue being kind in a world that would have you be cruel. She's a capable hunter, has had to be to survive on her own. She takes no pleasure in killing and never hunts for ego, only going for prey that will fill her. Though she takes much love when it comes to gathering, finding a kind of peace that is otherwise hard to obtain as she travels in search of plants. The simple act of travelling is something she enjoys greatly, it being the only thing she has ever known.
The world holds many treasures for her, though she is not blind to the dangers that lurk nor the reality that not everyone thinks as she does. What happened to her family is evidence enough for her to understand that, though she rarely dwells on that fact. Bad things happen, you learn, heal and move on. Still, Kinley is a firm believer that everyone has something good in them, no matter how small or how deeply buried. Everything holds beauty, it just takes someone to see it for it to become real. Perhaps she is childish to think as such, and could end up with her kindness abused because of it, but it'll take a lot to change her mind.
