History:
Nila was heavy with her final litter, heaving with the strain of labor and there was not a medic to be found. She knew that this pup would likely kill her on it's journey into the world, and it scared her. Nila was not stupid; the consequences of mothering the fruit of her brother's loins was dangerous. She expected the child to be hideous and painful to expel, but she had no choice. He was her alpha and her superior. She would birth the pup and die in the process, or kill herself from the strain of keeping it inside of her.
The pup was alive and full of energy for the entire duration of her pregnancy, yet now it seemed still as the contractions pushed it further into the birthing canal. She could not handle it anymore - she had to cease her active search for a healer and lie right there beneath the trees.
With each push, the pup advanced quickly down her canal. Nila was short of breath and in severe pain. The babe was large and seemed to be stuck just before it could be close to crowning. The woman cried out and pushed with all her might, feeling relief rush over her weak and panicked body as the mass of a pup left her womb. Her head fell against the ground as she tried to catch her breath. Her sides were heaving and consciousness was wavering.
Finally, amazed that she still had the strength to stay awake, she turned to see her babe as its nose bumped against her hind legs. The girl was beautiful; a tiny babe covered in afterbirth without a sign of any deformity to be found. Nila pushed her nose against the child and moved her to the proper position. After a brief moment of cleaning and nursing her new pup, Nila slipped into a deep sleep.
The singular pup of Nila Romantis grew quickly and with gusto. She was not coddled or spoiled, and was hardly given any time with the mother who seemed to find shame in her final babe. She grew strong and independently and was prepared to leave her mother's side the moment she began eating solid food. She traveled far across the continent and learned the dangers and benefits of humans and fellow canines. It seemed she was a wolf that drew the attention of wandering eyes.
It was not long before the girl became acquainted with another female wolf - one wolf who was determined to reach the coast and swim to the rumored land of Anikira. The old woman was named Sadie and began to teach the young she-wolf about the world around her. Though her past experiences had hardened her, the girl looked up to her and admired her. She absolutely absorbed every story and piece of advice that was offered to her.
Three years of traveling finally brought the girl to the coast, but her companion was weak and had grown far too old to make the swim across the waters between the land masses. She decided to stay behind and live out the rest of her days on the sunlit beach, blessing the girl and urging her to move forward to the island that loomed over the horizon. It was not in her best interest to mourn her friend at all, so the red princess then anointed herself with the name of her elderly guide and made her way towards the most pointed line of beach. It would be a long swim.
Personality:
Though it is difficult to classify her personality in any specific terms, she can best be described as neutral evil. She does not seek out altercations yet does not strive to remain lawful. Every action taken by the princess is one that has been well-thought out and will prove to be beneficial to her own goals. The girl is hard and judgmental and does not trust easily.
She is spiritual in her own way; she does not grovel to the gods or fear their power - her belief is that if she creates an equal balance of give and take, the gods will continue to serve her own purposes. For instance, a sacrifice every moon or so will give her a season of good hunting. These practices were all taught to her by her namesake whom she respects beyond words.
Sadie's heart is not dark or twisted, but beats strong with her own passion to succeed. She does not waste her time on petty things such as romance or friendship. Those she keeps close to her are merely allies.
An exceptional hunter, fisher, and fighter, Sadie knows how to survive on her own. She can see the benefits of pack living. She would be more protected living among a group, yet she would have less reason to be attacked as a loner. Her mind has still yet to be made up on the subject.
