The world had turned on its head, the known and familiar stripped away and the unknown a physical place. The fire had nearly taken her life, as it consumed all with its path, leaving only ashen remains in its wake. The acrid smell had burned her nostrils, the smoke a black cloud that had turn familiar paths into mysteries and clawed at her lungs as she fought to breath, the noise had been distracting and furthered her confusion. How she made it to the cliff at all, nevermind with no burns, was something she doubted she would ever know. But she had and she had thought the hardest part was over. She couldn't have been more wrong. The water had made even more attempts on her life than the fire, willing her lungs with salt water and causing exhaustion to pull at her limbs and convince her to give in. Like that would happen. She needed to survive to find her brother and hopefully find at least some of the pack alive. Besides, Hel wasn't dying unless it was on her terms, period. When she landed upon a beach, she didn't see it as a blessing so much as her next assignment. Perhaps the Gods were testing her faith, or choosing to punish them all, if they were even around to do as such. Everything from that point on had been all about surviving, even though her body had wanted to give in. Hel had tested for only a short while before moving off, alternatively resting and moving whilst hunting in between. She met no other wolves and didn't go out of her way to look. She needed to get strong before attempting to find her packmates. Especially Heim, no matter what.
Her twin and herself had gone through everything together. Heim knew her better than anyone, even if he didn't agree with half of what she did, though the same Hel thought about him. They had spent periods of time apart, but they were always short-lived and they both knew the other would return. Presently she didn't even know if he had survived the fire, nevermind make it all the way to Anikira intact. She had to believe he survived though. The dark female hadn't chosen to go anywhere specfically, merely staying away from areas that smelled heavily of wolves for the last thing she needed was to be caught trespassing, though under normal circumstances she wouldn't have cared. It was after all, a speciality of hers to sneak into and out of places she had no right to. But there was no need to take unnecessary risks when she couldn't afford them. Particularly when her lungs kept trying to evacuate on a regular basis, though not nearly as much as when she had emerged on the beach. Other than being pushed to the brink of exhaustion and some singed fur,she had been very lucky. Whether her luck would hold was a different question altogether. As she broke through a treeline, Hel saw a perfect replica of how her emotion plane looked like at the present moment. A desolate land, grey and frostbitten with patches of snow settled on earth void of plantlife. Damn the Gods. It was like being toyed with and she didn't like it. She was the one who played others, not the other way around.
With careful steps, she walked across the barren expanse, red eyes taking in her surroundings as her ears listened out for others. Coming to a frozen pool, the dark fae used a forepaw to break the surface and pushed it aside. After drinking her fill, she sat and watched her reflection. The face that looked at her was thin with stress and worry, the eyes blazing with anger and purpose. Seeing it made her suddenly tired and she came to the conclusion she couldn't go on like this. It would be evening soon and she would need to find a place to rest, this time a secure area so the female could achieve more than a short nap. For now though, she was content to sit by this pool and remember the ones lost, praying to Hiethir for strength and Revinn to grant the dead safe passage, even if they wouldn't hear.
