Ever since she had met her new papa, Vorilye, she had wanted nothing more than to show off the den site to him. The mines were practically her favorite place in the entire territory. They were vast and deep, contained dozens of chambers (some easier to get to than others), and if you did not know your way around them then death was surely eminent. The young female was an expert navigator of the mines. She had staked her claim on many of the more obscured, hard to reach chambers in her time alone. Those would be her secret rooms, special and touched only by herself and her possessions. Many of their tunnels were too narrow for a bulkier framed wolf and several of them had rather frightful paths that could collapse at any moment should a creature set a paw down wrong. The rest of the mines, however, she would not mind sharing with the Descai pack. She could show them the many entrances and exits she had found in all her time living here (or the ones she thought they could fit through without ruining, at least) and point them in the direction of chambers she thought would suite their needs. Papa could have the den of papas, the vast room once occupied by Exodus and Denali. The rest would have their pick, provided they did not try to take one of her already claimed plots. Unfortunately, Meridian would have to wait to show her home off to the others. Vorilye had been busy as a bee ever since laying claim to these lands. New wolves were trickling in by the hour, it seemed. Many of these strangers were just that, too. Strangers... Honestly, the girl was a bit uncomfortable at the idea of letting strangers into her land. She wanted to know why papa never invited her to tag along and meet these new wolves that demanded his attention. There would be time to dwell on that later though; right now the girl was simply glad to be back in her favorite part of Acerbus. In a bit of sport she pranced right up to the mine's entrance and let out a loud, resonating bark. Ears perked, she giggled at the sound of her own echo fading into the distance. Then she turned her gaze in the direction of her dragonfly delusion, grinning big when it approved of her new little game, and let out the thunderous bark again.

Shifting through the darkened terrain of shriveled shrubs and rusted cart tracks, Flea treaded softly on light pads. She had been on this endless trek to no where for several days now and it was clearly showing on her hide. Her ribs protruded from her sleek mixed ivory fur as did her hip bones near her lowly held tail. Flea had always been a thin Fae, but she was literally starving due to the lack or even want of food. Slowly she continued on now, her pads silently moving along the damp terrain and dead leaves that covered the ground floor.

Scenting the brisk air, Flea sensed the presences of other wolves in the territory of Descai. Figures I would run into a pack today... Her emerald and chocolate orbs glinted in uncertainty about whether or not to tread closer in her path, or to change direction to miss the pack entirely. Mustering her courage and her faded strength from her current state of starvation, Flea pressed on in the darkened path she traveled in.

Her muscles squirmed under her mixed pelt forcing her to stop and scratch. It seemed to be that when her adrenaline inclined that her need to scratch was intensified. Lifting her muzzle to the colorless tree tops, Flea inhaled the numerous scents of wolves. Her heart beat increased slightly with the slight intimidation that she may be attacked for intruding. Though part of her was ready to embark on these characters without any form of fear or even care. Thus she stood to her feet once more and moved ever closer to the darkened mines of the land of Descai.

Joining a pack was in the back of her mind. She had never truly been a member of one and currently it was out of the question for her. We'll see what happens ... Maybe these wolves aren't who others depict them as. Shaking her currently frail and thin build in the cool air, Flea continued on. Placing her strong legs quietly in the direction of the wolven packed terrain ahead. Her eyes weren't filled with the longing to fight, but only to confront these characters with ease.

Her delusion had once again proven to be her greatest distraction and her dearest friend. Lazily her paws batted at the purple dragonfly, swiping it out of existence only to have it rematerialize before her eyes. It was quite the entertaining game; for the young huntress it was rare to ever encounter prey that came back to life. But games were not meant to last forever and this one too ceased with time. The dragonfly drifted out of her reach and she rolled back onto her stomach. Eyes, nose, and ears alert, she watched the imaginary creature with curiosity. More often than not it told her what her senses already knew before the information reached her brain. When it drifted off into the distance like that it usually meant a stranger was approaching. Meridian pushed her front end up with her forelegs, sitting now. Her green eyes were focused on where the delusion hovered, visible only to yearling. Head tilted slightly to one side, she waited with more patience than would have been expected from one so young. This too, however, was another favorite game of her's. She liked it when others came to her; it meant she was in for a real treat. But as this unfamiliar face finally came into view, the girl knew instantly that something was wrong. The dragonfly hovered dangerously close to the stranger's face, the female's head before turning expectantly to its faithful ward. Meri nodded once in understanding, her nose confirming what the dragonfly dared say. This stranger was not part of her new pack; the creature smelled nothing like the scent traces of the borders. She was a trespasser and entirely too close to the dens. Hackles raising, a cruel smirk turned up the lips of the young mixed breed. She rose to all fours with a predatory growl. If there was a trespasser to be dealt with then she was all too happy to oblige. Hopefully papa wouldn't mind too much. Meridian's way of dealing with uninvited guests was rather unorthodox and just the tiniest bit sadistic. Her head shook back and forth disapprovingly, that maniacal smile still in place as she spoke. "No summoning howl? Tut tut. Rude strangers this far in must be put to death." The innocent excitement in her voice was unnerving; no child should be excited by the prospect of a murder.

Halting in her tracks again, Flea was forced to scratch at her shoulders. Her thin body seemed to quiver with the strong force of her hind leg raking at her itching skin. Shaking her mixed brown and ivory pelt free from her tireless burden, Flea sighed and pushed upright into a standing position. Soon I should be passed these lands. Maybe Ill eat soon... She muttered under her breath glancing over her ribs protruding from her sleek pelt.

Lifting her slender maw to the sky, she scented the air that drifted passed her body. Her chromatic orbs shifted as a thin scent of a unknown Fae pressed to her nostrils. Snorting Flea shook her head in distaste to the nearby female. Just want I need….to run into a Descai pack Fae. Today just keeps on getting better and better… Flea muttered under her breath at the nearby scents that filled her nostrils. Shaking her head she moved on slowly, her mind set on moving forward.

Her long legs traveled on through the rusted cart tracks and cool air of the damp day in Descai. She halted again under the slight nervousness of being confronted by a possible very territorial Descai wolfess. She was very thin from the lack of food, and she knew that fighting now would only worsen her current state. Though Flea was a strong Fae. She had endured so much already in only two years of living that most wolves would never had dreamed of enduring. So she pressed on, her mind only ready to accept what would happen or occur very shortly. Her eyes shifted though all the terrain ahead of her, her chromatic orbs searching for the scent that traveled toward her. Her main mission was to only move passed this area with or without worsening her current state and stature...
