Welcome to Anikira, an Intermediate/Advance wolf roleplay. The entire site is geared towards a fun, friendly environment with a group of people with similar interests. We all enjoy literate, leisurely roleplay. If you need any help, feel free to PM Zethrox, the Admin.

Please be sure to post your wolf's biography within the first week of joining. Any accounts that have not notified Zethrox or another staff member and do not post their biography will be deleted to keep the member count accurate and clear.

11.06.09 - New code implemented! When posting you now have the option to use a posting table. Don't now how to code a table? Check out the tutorial here [click]! With the new coding comes a new board. The Character Corner will let you easily keep track of pretty much everything you find important to your character, whether it be thread history, images, or table codes, amoung other things. Go wild! >3

11.01.09 - There is a new activity check up on the site; this is another one that in order to post your characters, you MUST be actively posting! Also, we have done some rearranging in the staff and such. November is the last month of fall, so soon the site will be transitioning to winter. Thanks everyone!

10.23.09 - We've got some brand new boards for you all to check out! We've also implemented a few new codes. The word counter no longer includes UBBC tags. The forum now automatically resizes posts to size one (1) font so you no longer have to resize posts by hand. Some on/off icons have been added as well simply because I hate looking at the default ones. If anyone wants to make some skin specific ones, feel free.

09.26.09 - 'Ello all! <3 Just like to point out that Silver made a new skin called Tides of War. If you haven't already, check it out! And if you've already done so... well... good for you! ;p Come October 1st I'm thinking of running a simple activity check to see who still comes around. And I'll also be archiving ALL threads that are over 1 month old, reguardless of content. If it hasn't been posted in since July or August, it's dead.

07.25.09 - Please please please read the July Announcements. They contain both vital information and an Activity Check. It's nice to see activity steadily picking up around here as well. Hope you guys are having amazing summers. ;p

7.1.09 - I've got a few things to say. First off, for Scarmy, Happy Canada Day! This weekend is the Fourth of July, so I'm not going to be upset if it gets a little slow around here. But after that, we'll be having an activity check. On another note, I'll probably internet-less from the 12-17 of this month, so I know everyone is busy with summer as well. Just wanted to let you guys know that I'm thinking about ya and that we need to get some killer roleplaying in action!

6.6.09 - The activity check ended today. Any characters not accounted for have been deleted and their biographies moved to the graveyard. On another note, a few mini-profile features have been added for the characters. You now need to select your wolf's age, breed, and height on your "edit profile" section. I went through and adjusted a few member's statistics for them as examples. I'm fairly sure it's straightforward enough. Hence you will not be required to keep your age and breed in your signature anymore unless you are a mixed breed wolf that wishes to let others know what combo your wolf is. Now that I'm done rambling, activity is picking up. I'm excited to see a few new faces here too! Hope you guys are all enjoying summer!

5.24.09 - Well, some of us are starting to get out of school, and so hopefully things will pick up soon. I'm posting an activity check today; please post or your accounts will be deleted (minus those of you with RECENT absence posts -within one month-) I'd like to see a bit more IC posting too, so if you need to post, please do! 4.29.09 - Obviously you all have noticed the lack of activity recently. I am not concerned about this, as finals and the end of school/college are drawing near, so most roleplayers are consumed with school work. Near the end of May, however, I'm planning on a mass activity check to be sure who all is still active, so be prepared for that!

03.13.09 - Happy Friday the Thirteenth everyone! Anyways, some minor updates have been made in terms of general information. Accepted bios will now be listed in alphabetical order. New herbs have been added to our ever growing list thanks to Siscarm. The breed statistics thread has been updated and now accurately reflects our accepted character count. And finally, we've now got an info thread for pup development. Enjoy the new info!

3.8.09 - I'd like to announce that it is now spring in Anikira! Also, I'm looking at adding one or two limited edition wolf breeds. Check the Staff Announcement board for more information about this!

2.7.09 - It's been a while since I've updated here. As many of you might have noticed, I haven't been overly active lately, and I apologize for this. My schedule's getting pretty crazy so chances are this will be going on into March at least. But I'm working on a surprise for you guys, and I really hope you'll like it!

1.2.09 - I hope everyone had a good New Year so far! Other than the fact that I tripped into a cement wall a few minutes after midnight, it's been fairly good. 12.30.08 - As you have probably noticed, I've redone the boxes on the sidebar and added a header table with the full weather for each region, the staff, and the quick links. This only will appear on the main page as a convenience and my inability to figure out how to do it on the global header... Haha! Anyways, I hope you guys like it!

12.28.08 - Because of the suggestions for the site, I've added a new "alias" code to the board that makes it so you can switch between accounts from the posting screen. If you're having any difficulty figuring it out, check with a staff member or another member that knows how to use it. I'm also posting up a check for pack members. I went ahead and updated the Aldgar numbers, but I need the new counts for Salen and Haishin. Thanks!

12.8.08 - It's time for another *drum roll* activity check! Yes indeed! I intend to crack down on activity from now on. I really want this site back to its old grandeur, and it's not going to happen unless everyone pitches in. We're starting to get a few new roleplayers, and I'd like to personally welcome each one! Welcome to the site! I would also appreciate some of you going out and advertising for us. Do not put up affiliate requests without my permission, but the more word we can get out about the site, the greater it will be!

12.1.08 - Good to see we're getting some activity back up. I got rid of dead accounts. Remember, today is the first day of mating season, which runs until the end of January. I'm glad that all of you stuck with the site when it went dead for a while, and now I'm hoping we'll be getting some new people to hype up the roleplay. Love you all!

History
The humans of planet Earth had long lived in harmony with mother nature. However, in the past hundred years, things had been different. The humans no longer respected animals, and many of the species were restless. A group of wolves searched the land masses for some way to get away from the human menace. The year 1960 was upon them...

They found their solution near the coast of Africa. Over hundreds of years, somehow unseen by humans, continuous volcanic activity formed a new land mass. This area had become a utopia over the years, and the animals realized that this might just be their chance to get away. They swam from the coast, drawing further and further away until they could no longer see the mainland. They finally reached the sandy beaches of a new continent. This area, for now unknown by humans, was exactly what they had been searching for. The animals quickly settled into their new home. The animals lived in harmony for over forty years.

In 2000, the humans finally surveyed the land mass. Somehow, their scientists had overlooked this land, and their ship routes had mysteriously passed it by. A horde of humans flooded the continent, sticking their noses in where the wolves believed they didn't belong. Mankind attacked them, slaughtering all the wolves in sight and burning large areas of the island. Finally, accepting that this place was not fit for human life after their tyrade, the scientists left, deeming the land uninhabitable.

Wolves that had hidden from the human's flames and the merciless weapons slowly began to emerge from their hiding places. Over the next eight years, the plant life gradually grew back. Now, the wolves needed to figure out a way to survive with many of their resources exhausted...

Six years ago, a brute named Zethrox had been born into these lands. He had been a vicious killer, a sickly wolf. He never had learned the meaning of love, and was ultimately doomed to a life alone. He had been shoved aside by his mate and mother of his pups, Rixes, and he had paid the price for his deeds. However, after the birth of his pups, the brute disappeared, never to be seen again. After a living four years away from the violence of his old "family," Zethrox has gone through many trials. He had learned the true meaning of love, how it really felt to depend on someone and care for them as a person, not as a means of status. He has figured out that, after everything that has been taught to him, it IS possible to love, to truly care and depend on others. So after all this time, the brute reappears in hopes of discovering what has become of his old comrades and most of all, his son, Ardemu.

Zethrox returned to the territory of his rogue band, finding the rotting carcasses and blood that indicates that Ardemu has cause this horrible scene. Determined to find his son and teach him differently, he wanders after the brute's weakening scent.

When he discovers what a mess the continent is in, as Ardemu is killing pack members and threatening alphas, he cannot help but blame himself. Zethrox, along with a few other wolves, must try to stop the menace that he unwittingly unleashed on this continent. However, when Ardemu realizes what his father is doing, he gains more support and turns against the very cause of his evil...
