Changes have become too severe in Anikira, and the wolves have been temporarily relocated to the Anikiran Southern Isles. Things have grown dire and unlivable on the mainland; it was time for outside intervention. Please be sure to review the full update on the staff board for more information!
The current season is fall in the Southern Isles. Due to their proximity to the equator, the region is still warm. There is currently no breeding and no birthing amongst the wolves
Having met the rest of the pack, Octavia felt a sense of peace about her life in Valyn. She had thought that her life would be doomed to revolve around her small family and her unfortunate mother, but it turns out there was more to Kal'dyne than her family. The few wolves she had met when Amara graciously allowed them to meet her spawn were not overly interesting but they were kind, and they did not make up all of the wolves she would meet in her time here. And with that positive thought, the growing white wolf had slipped away from the gathering, sneaking past the furies and even the Seraphim in order to get away from the commotion and explore.
She did not feel that she would have one of her manic episodes today; Tavia's head felt as clear as ever, and her mood was higher than it had ever been with even Harper, who was her favorite friend in the world. Her sister had always been the only one who could bring her back down from an emotional episode, but that didn't mean there was nothing else. Water, too, was something that evidently could always save her, though whether or not she could make it to a lake or stream in time was always a concern. Here on Hart'moru, though, there was water literally everywhere; small ponds, scattered about between stalagmites and all basically within sight of each other. The cavern was already her favorite place for it, and she had found it only by chance.
Octavia had left the pack meeting and immediately stumbled into the lagoon, swimming around excitedly and looking at the world through the same sea-green eyes, but with a brand new outlook. The white wolf felt lighter, and not just because she was floating slightly in the lagoon. When she waded unexpectedly into a wall that wasn't actually solid, she forged on, stepping into a dimly-lit wonderland. With an excited, exuberant laugh, the young pup darted around the rocky cavern, her large paws slipping on the slick water-worn floor as they were still wet from her swimming.
Even when she nearly crashed into things, Octavia seemed to be having the time of her life. There was no Amara here, and nobody else either, but she had exactly what she needed and felt no reason to leave. Besides the fact that there obviously was no food, Tavia wasn't sure she would ever need to go anywhere else.

Even though she didn't feel like it, Tempest's short life had been quite eventful. Since her birth, she was raised fatherless, her unnamed brother had mysteriously disappeared, Tempest and her sisters had formed a little group revolving around the Goddess, and Tempest had met the rest of her pack, Valyn.
Tempest mused over this as she wandered through Waryck Jungle, subconsciously ambling towards the place where she had met Valyn's leader, Valeria. Her wild thoughts continued to rage until she stumbled quite suddenly as water hit her front paws.
Instinctively, she began trying to paddle, when she realised that the water was not at all deep. Embarrassed, Tempest stood up and began to wade through the pool of clear liquid, deciding that she might as well. The water was up to her belly when she heard a shrieking laugh, which caused Tempest to jump forwards and submerge herself in the pool.
With irritation at whoever had laughed, the small runt splashed until her feet connected with the ground and her head was above the surface. Who was in here? The soaked, silver-furred fae looked around until she saw the source of the sound.
In front of Tempest was a muddy white she-wolf, with grey splotches of colour dotted around her pelt. She was noticeably younger than Tempest, although they were about equal in height. Tempest could tell that this wolf was a runt too from her small build, although she would end up being larger than Tempest most likely. Then her eyes were a unique seafoam green that she had not encountered before, which triggered Tempest's burning curiosity.
This was a very strange place to be. Why was she here splashing around? Who was she? She smelt like females and Valyn, so maybe she was in the same pack. Who were her parents? Did she have a father? Did she have a brother? Who were her parents? Suddenly, her mind began to flow out of her mouth.
"Hi! Who are you? I'm Tempest! Why are you here? Did you know that your laugh knocked me over?" she began babbling, but then halted, and quietened herself in order to hear what this wolf had to say. There was the occasion where her thirst to know everything about the situation would take over her mouth, and this was one of them.
Calm down, Tempest. Control your mouth. A polite smile spread across Tempest's maw, as if to apologise for her sudden outburst of questions and to invite the other to speak. Maybe they could be friends! Forgetting about this green-eyed femme startling her, Tempest began to think about making her first friend that was her age and not one of her siblings. When she was finished careening into walls and stood still for a moment, Octavia panted lightly and inspected her surroundings more closely, peering at the rock formations dripping down from the ceiling and up from the floor. This cavern was like nothing she had ever seen before, and the newness of it all gave her energy like she had never had before. The girl's body nearly hummed with the excess, and she found that standing still would be impossible; so she set her nose to stone and began to sniff, picking up unknown smells and trying to match them to what she was finding.
A splashing sound caught her ear, and she jerked her head around to the semi-hidden entrance to her accidental haven, startling slightly as she spotted a similarly white wolf, watching her. Octavia very nearly lifted her lip and set her throat with a growl, but she resisted; the female was only slightly larger than her, and clearly older. If she had wanted, this stranger could have easily snuck up on the younger pup and harmed her. Seeing as she had not yet been harmed, Tavia was very nearly certain that she would not be. This new wolf spoke excitedly, quickly, and it took her a moment to recognize that what had left her lips were, in fact, words. A name--Tempest--was spoken, and several more words after, but Octavia focused first on remembering the name.
"Tempest huh?" she said quietly, stepping closer to the intruder very slowly, scenting her as she did. Tempest was clearly part of Valyn, though the two had not met during the semi-informal pack meeting not long ago. "I'm Octavia. Do you always fall over when someone laughs?" she asked rudely, cocking her head to the side and frowning, not impressed. Who in the world fell over because of a laugh? Her own laugh, maybe, but the laugh of someone else? It just seemed ridiculous.
Shaking her head, Tavia stopped several feet away from Tempest and sat down right in a puddle, not flinching as the cold water hit her still-damp rump. Seconds passed by before she spoke again, unable to keep her mouth shut--she had only ever really spoken to Harper and Micah, and another pup was something she was having trouble wrapping her head around. "How did you find this place? And, uh... do you know what it is?" she asked sheepishly, her ears falling to the sides of her head in embarrassment. "I don't even really know how I got here. I just know that I like it."
It was truth that the young wolf spoke, for she did not truly remember having reached this place. Any journey she took that ended with her discovering water meant that she pushed the traveling out of her mind and focused only on the reward. It was a bad habit, but not entirely Tavia's fault; she was born with more mental disabilities than her mother, in addition to the bipolarity that Amara so lovingly passed on to her smallest offspring. That she also suffered short bursts of memory loss was not so much a problem as her attitude changes, but it would likely get her lost time and again if she did not learn to be more careful.

Hot embarrassment began to spread down the adolescent's body at her outburst of questions, some of which were embarrassing in themselves. She awkwardly shuffled her silver paws as the other wolf answered.
"Tempest huh?" the stranger began. In reply, Tempest nodded, waiting for them to continue. "I'm Octavia. Do you always fall over when someone laughs?" "Er-no, you just startled me - that's all," Tempest interjected quickly. "How did you find this place? And, uh... do you know what it is? I don't even really know how I got here. I just know that I like it." Octavia continued, seeming embarrassed. "Oh, this is Hat'moru. It's part of Valyn territory - you're from Valyn, right? You smell like Valyn. I met-" The rambling she-wolf stopped herself whilst she could, not wanting to talk too much. "Sorry."
How come Octavia did not know where she was? Didn't she know that going to places that she did not know of was dangerous? Why would someone just randomly splash through an unknown pool of water? Curiosity about 'Octavia' filled Tempest's mind.
"I've never met someone who went to places that would be potentially dangerous. If you don't know what this place is, then why did you come here?" The question was out of genuine thirst for answers, and was not intended as a criticism, although perhaps it would come across as one.
Tempest took a moment to look around, taking in Hat'moru. There were strange spikes hanging from the ceiling and erupting from the ground, the same colour as the dull rock surrounding them. These spikes and the walls around the duo were slick and covered in water, the same water as was found in the pool where Tempest had tripped. The small she-wolf could just about make out more pools of water, littering the floor everywhere in the semi-darkness.
This cave was impressively pretty. It seemed quite hard to believe that the cave had just so happened to be created out of nothingness. Perhaps it was yet another of the Goddess' beautiful masterpieces. The harder Tempest looked, the more difficult she found it to think that everything was natural.
"Do you believe in the Goddess?" Tempest murmured, still in her dreamy stupor about Hat'moru's formings. Were there other beliefs, other than Tempest and her sisters'? The thought had not crossed her mind until then. Words: 444 Muse: Bad Tags: @octavia Notes: Sorry for the late reply! :c

This untraditional coupling is one of the truly loving matches in Anikira. Although they are members of two different species, Calantha and Rikez have overcome the differences and rose above, finding love in the most pure of ways. And from this pairing, a litter born of two loving parents was conceived. These little boys and girls will have the great honor of being raised by two parents that support each other, while many of the offspring in Anikira have not had such a benefit. The pair are truly fitting of one another; both kind-hearted and generally good individuals.
