Changes have become too severe in Anikira, and the wolves have been temporarily relocated to the Anikiran Southern Isles. Things have grown dire and unlivable on the mainland; it was time for outside intervention. Please be sure to review the full update on the staff board for more information!
The current season is fall in the Southern Isles. Due to their proximity to the equator, the region is still warm. There is currently no breeding and no birthing amongst the wolves
There was something so freeing about running that Fawn could only smile as she raced her brother towards a presently unknown finish line. Her heart was beating so fast in her chest as her lings traded for new oxygen as quickly as she thought she could muster. But she was happy. So happy. Zipping through the foliage just like her namesake would do, she dashed here and there, determined to prove she was just as good as he was in a foot race, but his power was making him a great rival.
Even as he asked for where the end would come about, She looked at him with a smile, a small one since she couldn't break her concentration for long without losing her rhythm. Not to mention her breathing demanded quite a bit of her limited focusing abilities. "What about that big rock at the edge of the tree line?" She stared at it like prey and hoped her would agree to it merely because she would have trouble focusing on something else now. But she would try should he find a different target.
"What do you mean win? You look like your more likely to collapse before you even get there." Not that she was in much better standing, she felt like she had to work twice as hard to keep up with his long strides. In the joy of it all she lost her care of whether or not she won. She gave him a run for his money if she lost and if she happened to win, then that was just bragging rights. Of course with the utmost love and care.. She laughed silently as the thought danced through her thoughts.
"You gonna make it? Or will I have to double back for you, dearest brother?"
As soon as his little sister named the finish line, Hyperion tore off towards it, determined to reach it first. Beating Fawn would not really be a task he could brag about since he towered over her. The smell of the swamp was so familiar that Hyperion didn't mind the smell of it as he panted. He couldn't believe how out of shape he had become since he returned home. The food was abundant on Ina'mos, so Hyperion didn't have to work as hard to feed himself. Things were softer here than they were in the Agoge, at least until he found a mentor to train him. It was just when he was about to win the race, that he pulled back letting Fawn win the race. The glory of winning this small race was nothing compared to the joy of letting his sister beat him. Even if she did brag until the end of eternity he wouldn't mind. She was so very precious to him, his only sister remaining in Kairos. His mother and sister were all that he had left since Croix had left to discover his destiny. Hyperion was desperate to keep the little family he had let together. Watching Fawn leap across the imaginary line that extended past the rock made it all worth it. Smiling down at her he chuckled at his loss. "Well looks like you beat me this time sis. I guess I need to work on my speed." His grin was nothgin but warm, confirming that he didn't tease in earnest. At the end of the day the only thing that mattered was that his family was happy. He would work hard to make sure that they never wanted for anything. Perhaps that was his purpose in life now that his father had gone. Whatever glory laid in his future he was ready for it, no matter what. "I am so glad to be home, with you and mother. Your beautiful smile brings be so much joy."
This must be what flying is like for birds, she thought briefly as her feet danced over the earth. Of course this was probably a lot harder than flying but she could picture the two of them dancing in the sky, darting here and there together as their wings beat the air smooth and hard. How funny for a wolf to have wings.
Pouring out every shred of power she had in her small frame, Fawn tried to focus and sucked in mouthfuls of air as she 'flew' alongside her brother. Her legs began to revolt but she ignored the tired feeling as best she could. It was almost over, the rock was getting closer! Even though she was convinced Hyp would be the victor, Fawn kept it up as best she could until that blink of an eye event took place and she blazed past the rock seconds before Hyperion. Her body carried her farther than she expected and it took a few extra strides to slow down so she wouldn't skid to a halt and plant her face in the ground. Still her momentum made for a rather silly looking halt with her rump nearly hitting the ground and her hind legs splayed like a newborn deer trying to learn how to walk. Still, she pushed herself up and turned to look at her brother with a dazzling smile. "A youth without rank beating a warrior...how about that..."
Walking up to Hyp she head butted his shoulder gently and smiled while gulping in air and trying to calm the racing of her heart. "Maybe I can help train you." It would be more like just racing him day after day, she had no idea how to train for such a thing but she would certainly enjoy spending time with him. Looking up at him, Fawn tilted her head as she listened to him talk about family once again. She knew it was important to him and it was to her as well although she may not be as vocal about it. "I'll always have a smile for you. I'm proud to be your little sister, Hyp."

In an effort to provide the least restrictve roleplaying environment available, Anikira and their staff are looking to move to the Proboards paid forums. This forum would allow unlimited writing freedom to members, as well as an ad-free environment and our ability to customize the forum and its ratings/content however we choose! In order to do so, we will require your help! There is a monthly cost associated with this service, and any and all donations toward this goal are appreciated. Please use the PayPal link below for all donations for Anikira maintenance and moving costs. We look forward to a roleplaying environment where the sky is the limit!
Please note the donation page is listed under Uru's name as it cannot be listed otherwise without a business account. All funds associated with this PayPal account will be used directly for the maintenance and costs of Anikira, and hopefully soon anikira.com as our roleplaying forum.
This untraditional coupling is one of the truly loving matches in Anikira. Although they are members of two different species, Calantha and Rikez have overcome the differences and rose above, finding love in the most pure of ways. And from this pairing, a litter born of two loving parents was conceived. These little boys and girls will have the great honor of being raised by two parents that support each other, while many of the offspring in Anikira have not had such a benefit. The pair are truly fitting of one another; both kind-hearted and generally good individuals.
