Changes have become too severe in Anikira, and the wolves have been temporarily relocated to the Anikiran Southern Isles. Things have grown dire and unlivable on the mainland; it was time for outside intervention. Please be sure to review the full update on the staff board for more information!
The current season is fall in the Southern Isles. Due to their proximity to the equator, the region is still warm. There is currently no breeding and no birthing amongst the wolves
How different yet seemingly alike they were. She was happy and nearly giddy like all the females he had met so far. While he remained stoic and awkward just like he never met another wolf before. Yet their similarities were fascinating, he wondered if they were somehow distantly related. But that was a far fetched thought, but he never met his mothers family so that whole side of him was a mystery.
He entertained the thought for a few moments before casting aside completely as folly. He was alone now their was no family for him other than his adopted sister. Which he was still trying to get used to. She adopted him first and just introduced herself as such one day without his knowing about it. Imagine his surprise. But it was also nice in a way that he had someone wish to be his sibling despite his faults.
He came back to the present to hear her voice speak of the small island herself. Yes it would be claimed soon. Packs were growing fast and new ones seemed to be constantly forming. How much longer could he manage to be a loner in peace? Just because he was a good fighter didnt mean he went out looking for rumbles. "Spring will come soon enough. Perhaps it shall warrant another visit then." He hoped it stayed peaceful long enough so she could see the beauty of life take Miera. He may not return here or maybe he would, he didnt really plan out things like that. "Where will you go from here?" He was running out of his limited collection of conversation pieces and began to once again revert to highly uncomfortable fidgeting. Still, he tried and that was an improvement in itself although she may not realize it.
Finishing the last of the fish trapped between her paws, Kinley stood and stretched before moving the remains away from where they had been standing. Same as before. After licking the blood from her maw, the female sat and shook out the fur of her mantle. The wind sweeping in from ocean twisted and pulled at the long pale hairs like fingers, teasing at her ears and causing them to slant back slightly. Looking at the male with big eyes, Kinley thought about how with as many diffences between them there were, there were even more similarities. The handsome wolf was not so isolated as he appeared to be. She found her head nodding as Mal spoke, thinking he well might be true though a second visit was unlikely. Not if Valdís has her way. She did not know much about the large she-wolf, but her instincts had always been in point and she reconned that sooner or later Valdís would claim this land as her own. Perhaps the fanged fae would permit her a short time on the island when it came into full bloom. It was vast and stark currently but mayhaps it would not always be as such. "Perhaps", she murmured. As his query registered in the air, Kinleys head tilted to the right as she thought about her answer.
Looking across to the west, she said in a distant voice, "Maybe to the East of Anikira, or the North. Many of the packs don't mind a loner passing through as long as they don't cause any trouble, so that's never a problem". Turning her teal eyes back to Malachi, she continued, "I never try to plan too far ahead, I prefer to be spontaneous". Her eyes glanced up to the sky above, the darkness nearly having consumed the light, though there was enough for her to see clearly. The night was clear for now but there was no way to know if it would last. Almost subconsciously, Kinley stood and began shifting her weight from her left to her right foreleg. What to do, what to do... She hadn't intended to find a place to shelter for the night but it couldn't hurt to go underground just in case. Mentally flipping through all the little hidey holes, her eyes fell back to silver male. Xiget it was. Can't exactly just leave him on his own, but will he come? With a yawn, she began to shift so her body faced northwards, towards the marshlands. "There's an underground cavern that is just the most perfect den just north of here, and I could certainly do with a place to rest", with that said, Kinley began to walk her way forwards, being careful on the slippery rocks.
After a few paces, she paused and turned her head to look over her shoulder, "Are you coming Malachi?".

She was a lady there was no arguing that. Just how she ate, moved and talked she just had the air of propriety but not so much so that it was off putting or snobbish. She would have liked Uncle Kenai. He thought to himself with a touch of sadness but the stronger emotion was that of more like a fond memory. Kenai always was a gentleman, even with his fear of the female gender. He taught his younger relatives how to be good ladies and gentlemen with such a kindness it was hard to even say those lessons were boring, he put everyone at such an ease. But he was gone now and those lessons with him. Except for the flicker of them that remained in the only living member of that family. A poor wolf to carry on that legacy.
Once again, as he had to do so often, Malachi pulled himself to the present as Kinley spoke of spontaneity. "I seem to never plan things out either." He spoke, trying to share common ground. Although he felt it was for vastly different reasons they seemed to share this trait. She was sweet and free as the he wind and seemed to like it that way, he didn't feel welcome anywhere for too long with rare exceptions of course. He knew with his limited number of friends, he could see them as he wished and they wouldn't resent him for it.
But the dark had fallen now and he would be unable to return to them in any brisk manner so he would probably just sleep right here on this rock until light returned. Seeming to read his mind, Kinley talked about a snug place she would stay and promptly turned and began to walk away. He tilted his head as he watched her go, wondering why she didn't say goodbye. Shrugging mentally, Malachi began to start his bedding down routine. But he was cut short, ears twisted to hear her voice again, asking him to come with. "Oh! Uh..yes, Miss." Surprised, he simply fell in step with her. He didn't know she wanted him along and couldn't figure out why. Maybe she was too polite to leave him alone like that. Odd girl.

In an effort to provide the least restrictve roleplaying environment available, Anikira and their staff are looking to move to the Proboards paid forums. This forum would allow unlimited writing freedom to members, as well as an ad-free environment and our ability to customize the forum and its ratings/content however we choose! In order to do so, we will require your help! There is a monthly cost associated with this service, and any and all donations toward this goal are appreciated. Please use the PayPal link below for all donations for Anikira maintenance and moving costs. We look forward to a roleplaying environment where the sky is the limit!
Please note the donation page is listed under Uru's name as it cannot be listed otherwise without a business account. All funds associated with this PayPal account will be used directly for the maintenance and costs of Anikira, and hopefully soon anikira.com as our roleplaying forum.
This untraditional coupling is one of the truly loving matches in Anikira. Although they are members of two different species, Calantha and Rikez have overcome the differences and rose above, finding love in the most pure of ways. And from this pairing, a litter born of two loving parents was conceived. These little boys and girls will have the great honor of being raised by two parents that support each other, while many of the offspring in Anikira have not had such a benefit. The pair are truly fitting of one another; both kind-hearted and generally good individuals.
